For a number of years, I've had Seattle Tree Preservation look after our trees including a cedar over 80'tall. The crews are efficient, cautious, and personable, plus they trim with an eye for structure and natural shape. Always a quality clean-up, and each person to whom I've spoken to at STP has been pleasant and highly competent. more

All of my interactions with Seattle Tree Preservation were professional and friendly. They did a complete estimate, followed through with promises, and kept us informed. The job was completed correctly the first time. They exceeded expectations in all areas. I have just called Lincoln and his team out for some follow on work. more

I had one of the arborists come to bid on some tree work in our yard. He gave a thorough evaluation of the work, bid was between the other bids I received on the same work. Scheduled the work, and as it was fall, the schedule date was out a ways (understandably, given the weather we have had this season). I called and asked if I could possibly be moved up in the schedule if an opening came up. They were able to accommodate that and moved my appointment up a week. The crew that came was communicative, making sure the trimming was to my liking. They were efficient and cleaned up all debris from the trees that had come down. Office manager is easy to communicate with. Overall a great experience and great service. Would gladly recommend them/have them return for additional work when it's time to prune the 60 foot cedar again :). more

We had 2 130+ ft elm trees that had to be removed due to Dutch Elm disease. The crew arrived on time and did a wonderful job of removing the canopy and the 3 ft diameter trunks without damaging any of the surrounding trees, fencing and vegetation. It was truly amazing to watch this crew at work - an orchestrated symphony of skill. At the end of the day, the crew took care of all the cleanup. STP coordinated with the building next door for use of their parking lot and with the hardwood people who will use the wood to make furniture. Although the loss of these trees is immeasurable, I am grateful that their removal was in such capable hands. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone needing tree work. more

Seattle Tree Preservation is a skilled group of people who provide excellent service for your trees. The crew knows trees and how to make sure they are healthy and safe. Everyone is very experienced and provided expert care. The job was bid and it was a fair price. The crew kept me updated as the work progressed. The clean up was outstanding. I was referred to Seattle Tree Preservation by an arborist that I have hired over the years to protect our trees and to prevent our neighbors from needlessly removing them. This is my second year that I have used the firm. The first year they removed a dead tree and did some minor trimming to enhance my view. I was very satisfied with this work. This year I hired them to trim 10+ large trees (all over 100') to open up view windows without damaging the trees. The results were great - I discovered that I had water and mountain views - and they were careful and judicious in helping me define the scope of the project so I would get the maximum benefit from the work. It was on our hourly basis and they didn't try to upsell the project. They also did a bonzai trim of an evergreen that was exactly what we wanted - trimmed from the bottom up,correctly trimmed a number of our other shrubs that were overgrown and needed to be reshaped (not given a haircut) and raised up a number of trees that were encroaching on our drive. Their charges were very competitive, they called to alert me when they could do the work and they showed up on time. I will use them in the future for any tree/shrub work I require. more

The Seattle Tree Preservation team is very knowledgable and I always feel like we are in great hands. We are in the midst of a large-scale hardscaping project and have really appreciated John's guidance on how to achieve the look we want while planning for the long-term health of our trees. We hired STP to perform tree pruning after receiving a low estimate. Well, it was too good to be true. Their crew did a competent, but incomplete job. They performed *half* of the scope of work they agreed to in the contract, and demanded immediate payment in full at the top of their estimate range. We requested that John review the project to estimate what was necessary to correct and complete the work, he threatened us with a lawsuit and terminated the relationship. Face-to-face, John was belligerent, angry, insulting, screaming, threatening, bullying, and all around unprofessional. He admitted that he had made a mistake in the contract, but then insisted that we pay for almost 80% of the price although just half the work was done. DO NOT HIRE SEATTLE TREE PRESERVATION -- their work is incomplete and incorrect, and their tactics for seeking payment are completely unprofessional. more

Can't comment on their tree pruning, as I know little about trees. They could use some customer service training, as I found them condescending and rude. more
