Great Sewer Inspection Company 4/25/2014

I have been a real estate broker in Seattle for over 15 years. My clients needed to have a sewer scoped one afternoon recently and Aaron managed to squeeze us in with very short notice. Aaron and Brevin have repeatedly given my customers excellent service. I would not hesitate to recommend them. They are reliable, professional and competitively priced. more

Highly recommended 3/9/2010

I live in a 100-year-old house on Capitol Hill with -- you guessed it -- a 100-year-old sewer line. I called Seattle Sewer Inspection because I thought I detected some sewage seeping out of the ground near the sidewalk. The first time Aaron came here, the line was so full of sewage that we were unable to see (his camera provides its own light, but sewage can be opaque). He recommended that I snake out the line, and he agreed to come back for an additional $100. Aaron is a pleasure to deal with -- quick, tidy, no-nonsense, obviously highly competent -- and my favorite thing about his business is that he's totally agnostic when it comes to recommending repairs. Because he doesn't do major repairs himself, he'll give you impartial recommendations that are tailored to your budget. In my case, the most severe problem is a separation between two segments of clay pipe caused by a large root -- he gave me a full range of suggestions from an inexpensive spot repair to "pipe bursting" a segment of the line to replacing the entire line. If you're reading this review, I don't envy you, because you probably have a sewer problem. But if you are like me, the kind of detailed information you'll get from Seattle Sewer Inspection will be of tremendous help as you decide what to do next. (I can also imagine the service being useful to anyone considering buying an old house.) more

Great work, low-priced, and pleasant 10/26/2007

Nearly every year our sewer backs up due to tree roots, and we have our plumber come to cut the roots back. When I found that our plumber was out of business, I saw the excellent reviews for Budget Sewer and gave them a call. Since I simply wanted the line cleared, and not replaced, they referred me to Aaron at Seattle Sewer Inspection. He quoted me the same price as the other lowest bids to cut back the roots. I wondered how much more it would be to run a camera through the line and locate the source of the problem. Aaron said that he primarily does camera inspections, and that the price for a camera inspection would be an additional amount at the same price charged for cutting roots, but that since he would already be there, he'd cut the price for the camera inspection in half. He was able to come out the same day. Although our sewer pipe had apparently become offset and made it difficult for his equipment to push through, he persisted until the pipe was cleared and the problem area was located and marked in the yard (in case I decide to dig it up later.) And he patiently ran the camera back through the line again when I thought I had seen another spot where roots were entering. Before he left, I asked whether he could snake out a bathroom sink that had been draining progressively slower. Although it was late in the day and he typically did sewer inspections and not plumbing, he ran a 25-foot snake through the pipe, pulled out a huge clog, and charged less than I had previously agreed to pay for that. (I can't guarantee that will be the case for everyone. But his company is new, and still building a client-base.) Aaron knows his stuff, was very pleasant, and clearly explained what he was doing and why, and what all the options were. I feel secure in recommending him, and his rates are very competitive. Lastly, they've got a well-done website that clearly explains the work they do and what to expect. more
