Best

This is the only fish store I will shop at. Even though they are constantly busy they make you feel like #1.

Worst

Jim reaks of alcohol and he and his wife smoke a lot out front. Don't ask them a question because they don't really listen to your specific question, they just go on and on and on...

Hands Down, My favorite aquarium shop 3/18/2008

I started purchasing from Sage and Jim when they first opened. I recently got back into the hobby after a 2+ year hiatus and much to my pleasaure, the store is still thriving. I walked in and they were busy, which says alot. But once they got to me, within a couple minutes, they recognized me nd much to my surprise, remembered both of my aquariums and the livestock I had. That's customer service! I would much rather frequent a shop that is busy with repeat customers as well as new customers, than one that never seems to have more than one other customer shopping. Pros: Friendly staff, they get to know you and your aquarium(s), good selection Cons: Tough to get in the parking lot if you are going North on Academy. more

Knowledge is poor buyer beware 3/7/2008

These people have to smoke Cancer sticks before servicing customer. Knowledge of plants is poor. When wrong still insist they are right Like my extensive research is incorrect, I know what I am looking for. Most fish are substandard and seems they are always treating diseases. Discus fish are stressed by extremely low ph. I mentioned this and the ph monitor dissapeared next day. I recommend not buying from here. Overall Knowledge of fisherys is poor. besides you will be lectured incorrectly while buying fish. just my opinion though. Good luck more

The Best in town 3/2/2008

I visited two other aquarium stores before going to Seascape Aquatics. It was a little tricky to find the first time but I found exactly what I wanted and needed there. Being a first time aquarium owner, the main thing I was looking for was information. The staff was very friendly and extremely knowledgable. They asked the right questions and offered to test the tank water to see if it was ready for fish. The store is very clean and they had all the aquarium supplies I needed; I wanted particular types of fish and food. I've been back many times for more supplies, live plants, aquarium replacement parts, etc.; they remember me and one each visit I learn more about my new hobby. more

Staffed by enthusiastic hobbiests 3/29/2007

I was somewhat new to fish and plant keeping when I first went into Seascape Aquatics. They didn't seem elitist or snobby to me. They seemed very willing to talk and share information about subjects they seem genuinely interested in. I've found most of their prices to be about 5%-10% higher than Petsmart or big box retailers, but they have stock not found at those places, not to mention their tanks are clean. What is the point of saving $1 on a fish from PetCo if it comes with who-knows-what sort of parasites or bacteria? more

Fish Geeks 3/17/2007

I agre with other reviewers who say the staff at Seascape know their stuff. It is the knowledge that comes not just from working at a fish store, but from experienced hobbyists. I think that enthusiasm is off-putting for someone who is used to buying Neon Tetras from WalMart for ninety-nine cents each. But, I have not yet felt like any staff member was intentionally rude or condescending. Pros: Quick and knowledgable service, neat aquarium set-ups Cons: Prices more

Some things to consider 1/16/2007

The store is very clean, cleaner than most. It's refreshing knowing that the environment is one of concern for both the fish and the customers. Similarly, the fish are good looking and seem to be in great health; they are all hand-caught, and the store does not take fish that were caught via alternate mean (e.g., chemical catching, dynamite, reef structure damage, etc.). However, that fact alone makes the fishy more exepnsive than what you will find at a Petco or similar chain. Pros: Clean store, knowledgeable service, attention to detail, healthy fish Cons: Expensive, limited selection, somewhat snoody more

High prices and serious attitude 3/1/2006

Anything you buy in small fish stores is going to be expensive, I was struck by how rude the people were while asking such high prices. I sometimes pay higher prices at smaller establishments if the staff is pleasant and will give me individual attention, something that the larger stores can't always provide. It was brought to my attention by others that the staff here is angry and rude, have to agree. Don't see Seascape lasting very long. Pros: location Cons: price , selection, attitude more

Small but nice 1/3/2006

Best looking livestock but not a lot of it. Also limited in dry goods. Can be almost double in price compared to the internet on dry goods. Pros: Clean, Healthy livestock Cons: expensive drygoods more
