After reading all the good reviews, I planned to get a new hair cut/perm and called Salon Tewl. The receptionist set up a consultation appointment with Mari since Mari is the only person who does perms at Salon Tewl. Pros: free parking Cons: Small and crowded place, not relaxing at all more

Caryn's Pedicure 6/9/2010

I would definitely recommend Caryn Konma at Salon Tewl to anyone looking for an exquisite pedicure. While the price is not as cheap as other nail salons, it is definitely reasonable and the quality of work unquestionably justifies the money spent. Each time I get a pedicure here, I am reminded why I keep coming back every time. Caryn does an excellent job and the wonderful atmosphere at the salon always makes my experience all the more pleasant! more

Amazing Pedicure! 6/9/2010

I've been getting pedicures from Caryn Konma for a months here now and each time she does an absolutely spectacular job. Caryn pays close attention to every detail and request, while working at an efficient pace. I've tried a million different salons in the Bellevue/Seattle area in search of the 'perfect pedicure' and I'm ecstatic to say that I have finally found it here at Tewl! more

Salon Tewl has the best customer service! 6/3/2010

I just recently lost my hair stylist of 6 years and was forced to subject myself to put my hair in the hands of someone I did not know. After searching for the right stylist for 9 months, which meant my hair was in desperate need, and after a friend recommendation, I tried Salon Tewl. I was lucky enough to get an appointment with Marta, the salon owner, and I walked out of there a new woman. Not only did she transform my hair she helped me completely update my whole style! I could not believe how many compliments I got! It was the kind that people were not quite sure what had changed, but just that I looked great! I have been back twice and have my 3rd appointment set up already. I love my new look! Thanks Marta! Get a Mani and Pedi with Caren while your hair processes too. Caren has a few beauty tricks up her sleave to enhance your look you are going to love. I know I am hooked. Pros: customer service, best stylists, Cons: There is not 2nd Salon Tewl open in Seattle yet! more

Worst hair cut of my life!! by Natalya 3/6/2010

If this site would let me give a ""negative"" star I would do it!! Yesterday, March 5, 2010 I received the worst hair cut in my life by Natalya!..(Russian accent..?) This was my first time at that salon. I have curly hair. I explained that a little bit of a cut goes a long way on my hair because it shrinks exponentially when you cut it. I carefully showed her with my thumb and forefinger that I only wanted less than 1/4"" inch taken off, ""evenly"". She asked, ""what about the back""? I said the same. She began to cut and I ended up with the shrotest hair I've had since I was 7 years old. I had no curls left either. YOu would think that a ""stylist"" would see curls in the beginning and automatically think it would be a good idea to preserve the curls! Cons: horrible results more

Extensions 3/3/2010

Heidi did my hair extensions and I just absolutley love them. I have so many options now with styling my hair. she did a skin weft extension which I was nervous about at first but sooo happy it is so comfortable and natural looking. so much less damaging then other extension methods I've had in the past. Thank you Heidi I love it!!!!!! more

Tehmina Rocks!!! 1/18/2010

I started going to Salon Tewl last year. My stylist is Tehmina. I have crazy curly hair which is hard to cut. Tehmina has done wonder in keeping my tresses under control. She is fun, easy to work with and can do pretty much any style you ask her to do. I take pictures of hair styles I like as a starting point and she will suggest changes that will work with my hair. Dawn is an artist! 11/23/2009

Dawn's been cutting my hair for nearly five years. We started long and ""grew"" short. I felt like I was walking off the edge of a cliff when I cut my long hair off yet something inside me really wanted to take the dive. I loved the way Dawn encouraged that spiritedness. I appreciate the way she listens so attentively. She offers me so much creativity and time - I can tell she really cares how I look. I feel lighter & younger when I walk out the door. more

I had the best hair cut and wax.Lucy, Juel, Heidi they all are amazing at what they do, i never go to anyone else except for lucy for wax, heidi does a great job with styling too, my style lasted for two days :)... so yes i love the salon and the everyone working there. I love what Sarah does for my hair! 10/15/2009

I have enyoyed going to Sarah for several years, and love visiting her while she works away at makeing my hair look absolutly gorgeous. \r \r She is always very professional, personable, and understanding. Here other customers are always happy to see her two. \r \r I love to go in with some crazy new style. Even though my hair type is not right for the style, she comes up with a way to make it work. She can think abstractly, and is as much a Hair Engineer as she is a stylist :) Pros: Shes great! Cons: I wait to long between visits more

I just got done seeing Heidi at Salon Tewl tonight for my hair extensions and I am completely OBSESSED with them! I was really nervous about getting them at first bc I heard they could be damaging and be really heavy on my scalp but to my surprise this new technique of 'skin weft' hair extensions is very gentle and you can even reuse them after you get them removed. They are so comfortable and natural looking (they even match my natural hair texture)! I can't wait to start playing with my hair and try new styles that I wasn't able to do before. Not only is my hair longer but now it has more body and moves a lot more fluidly! I LOVE IT! The most positive thing I have to say about my extensions (besides the gorgeous look I can now achieve) that really hindered me from getting them in the past, is the price. Times can be tough, but that doesn't mean your hair should suffer and I can honestly say I have never been happier with my hair before! Marta and Heidi really know how to make a modern woman happy. Not only do I now have the length that I have always desired but I now have the color too! Thank you soooo much Marta for giving me a beautiful color that is so complimentary of my skintone and for brightening me up for the current spring season. You made it so flawless for me to transition from winter to spring season. I finally have my dream hair and the best part is it didn't cost me an arm and a leg. Dawn is a Master! 4/23/2009

I thank my lucky stars that I found Dawn 6 years ago. Dawn is a master at color and cut. I have curly hair and she knows how to cut it to make it look its best and the color always looks very natural which I love. She also does an amazing job drying my hair straight for a whole new look. Natalya is the best! 12/28/2008

I was referred by a friend to see Natalya at Salon Tewl in Bellevue. The salon has a relaxing atmosphere. Natalya asked me what kind of style I wanted and she also recommended several different styles that she thought might look good on me. She was clear and direct in her communication and I trusted her suggestions. We decided to go with a style that looks conservative during the workweek, but cool & modern when I go out at night on the weekends. My hair looks much more stylish and modern now! I feel more handsome & confident. I've also had several compliments from my friends, family and co-workers. more

Great highlights, not so great cut... 12/19/2008

I just moved to the area recently and after seeing my stylist in Portland, OR for a couple of years, I was really hoping to find a stylist as fabulous as she was. I decided to go to Salon Tewl because of all of the great reviews and I was scheduled to see Natalya for highlights. She herself was extremely friendly and overall a very nice girl. She and I had great conversation the entire time. My highlights took a long time but turned out great ...but then she told me she was going to touch up my layers because she said they looked like ""steps"" in the back and she wanted to blend them in a little. I, of course, agreed because she's a pro and I was sure she would make it look even better than I thought it already was. Unfortunately, I ended up with really choppy looking hair and she completely cropped my bangs! I told her I didn't want them too short and now, I have to bobby pin them so that they don't land right in my eyeballs. I understand that she's a professional and all but shouldn't you always listen to your clients so that we get what we want instead of what you think we should want? She told me long bangs weren't stylish anymore but I can't say the choppy bangs I have now are all that flattering. Anyway, my highlights look great but my bangs and choppy cut bum me out so much that it almost overshadows the great highlights and that's unfortunate. Pros: Highlights and Friendly Attitude. Cons: Listening to what the client really wants. more

You need to see Hollie at Salon Tewl 11/23/2008

I have been seeing Hollie at Salon Tewl for over a year now. I have recieved so many compliments since she has been doing my hair. She definitely has a natural talent for what she does. I had heard about Salon Tewl through some friends and knew it was a great Salon. Since Hollie has been doing my hair, it has never looked or felt better. It is definitely healthier than it has ever been and her cut and color is amazing. I would recommend Hollie to everyone I know. more
