Being that we are a customer service based company, we welcome all input from our guests. However, when a guest chooses to post negative on-line comments, it makes it very diffic...

Worst

I enjoyed my massage. The pedicure was good, except for the double dipping into the scrub...maybe not so smart. I did notice that a few of the women doing nails had warts! yikes....

SO BAD!! 11/12/2009

I went there a few weeks ago. Honestly, the worst place I have ever been. The girl who cut m y hair was fine but the whole time her and the other hair dressers complained about the owners. Truthfully, I hadnt heard the best thigns about the place but had decided to try it anyway. It was so overpriced. The atmosphere is horrible and by the way the girls were talking the owners are horrible as well. For the price go to a real proffessional salon that is actually a good experience. more

find the right person 8/5/2009

this is my third time to santa fe in the past 4 months. i've been going for lash tinting. the first time, the woman got it all in my eyes and they burned for quite a while (i'd been getting my lashes tinted in europe for a few months, so i knew what was normal FOR ME... this was not). the second time i had lauren. she was SO NICE (seriously, i love her, and would go to her for anything except tinting) but i ended up with dye all over my face. Pros: a good lash tinting, a good wax Cons: took a while to get a good one more

Best of the Best 3/5/2009

Santa Fe Day Spa has the best service providers. They are always making sure you are taking care of. They try so hard to make you feel special and glad you are there. Never have I felt uncomfortable or out of place everyone ask if I would like a drink or if I have been taken care of. more

Best I've found in Birmingham for the price 2/26/2009

For a local spot, this spa is about the best median priced spa I have tried. The services are priced similarly to other places across town, and the staff is always very friendly and helpful. This spa has a good "pre-spa" area--although they have no sauna (at least not one available for free as a pre- or post-spa exprience). The spa atmosphere is a little loud and not-so-relaxing around the entryway where you pay--which connects with the louder salon area. The back where massages are given is very quiet and serene, however, which is what I really like about a spa experience. I have been to better spas, but not in Birmingham. For a good local day spa, I would definitely recommend Santa Fe Day Spa (and I do quite regularly!). more

Very Happy with my stylist, Becca Henderson! 12/18/2008

I have been going to Santa Fe for almost 2 years, always to Becca, for my cuts and colors. She has never once let me down, each time better than the last. She always tells me what products she uses on my hair and also shows me how to style it when I get home so that I may have the same experience at home. I wouldn't dream of anyone else touching my hair!! If I could say the same for the front counter staff.... I am rarely greeted, usually ignored until Becca sees me and comes around to get me and when I am left sitting right in front of them, they just look down at me like I shouldn't even be there. more

Great people and great service 10/28/2008

When i went to santa fe day spa i thought it was wonderful and it was a great place to come too. i had my hair down many times from many of the girls and i can say going to many salons this is the only one that has stylists that do know what they are doing and work very hard to make me feel comfortable. the front desk girls do a great job and always make sure to say hello or asking me how i was doing. i enjoy every service i got and i cant wait for the next. also for the review that was given about heather, i think that was very rude and over the top. i have had heather do my hair and she does a great job, her trainning comes from floridas best schools. I can say that i will tell anyone that wants to know about santa fe day spa that its a great place . Pros: beautiful place Cons: very busy more

Usually enjoy- not anymore 9/16/2008

I have been a regular of Santa Fe Day Spa for a few years now. I would have continued service there, if it hadent been for the unprofessionalism, miscommunication, and un sympathetic staff. my husband called 2 weeks before and booked me an appt. with my regular therapist. I called 2 days before to confirm I was requesting someone for my massage. when i arrived i waited 20 minutes to be serviced and then someone named Katie came and said "Im doing your massage", and i said excuse me i requested someone. then she proceed to walk away and "tell management". then they came to regretfully the person who scheduled my appointment (who just so happened to be the mananger) forgot to notate it in the system so i was left with the choice of getting a massage by someone new or continuing to wait. so you decide is Santa Fe worth the money? not to me anymore... not only was i not shown any regret but i was not offered any type of discount either. more

The Worst 8/18/2008

Nail Tech was running 25 mins behind schedule ,she was running her mouth and made no apologizes for being late. The other one my daughter had spent the whole time talking about partying the night before and her sex life. Don't waste your TIME! more

Santa Fe Day Spa will ROB YOU BLIND -do not take a chance!!! 7/24/2008

I came there to get my acrylic nails taken off, the woman (a blonde older woman-middle aged) was rude and snotty to me. Instead of just soaking the nails off in acetone, she wraps them in tin foil that has a acetone soaked cotten ball inside (this takes longer), so she asks me if I want another service while I wait; I went for a pedicure, because I picked a different color for my feet & hands, she gave me an attitude like that's uncouth. She made fun of me when she saw my feet (remarking how I needed it), even after I told her this was my first trip out since having my baby. Those cotton balls wrapped in tin foil kept sliding off, and she got mean about it, scolding me not to move. When it came to paying up, she turned on her smile, I was so in shock that I didn't realize till I was driving away that they overcharged me by $55 ! I called them, the receptionist sounded like she didn't care one way or another, she tried to set me up w/ spa credit, I refused that; and that charge ne more

Response to earlier post regarding Heather 6/13/2008

Heather is my stylist and I am shocked to read the review by the one lady that apparently had a bad experience. My hair, when I first started going to Heather, was very badly damaged and she has been able to repair it and get it looking so amazing! She is highly trained by Redken and has also taught at a Redken school. My color always looks amazing and my cut is wonderful! I am just appalled that someone would post something so mean about her. If you are looking for FREE services like that lady obviously is, Santa Fe is not where you need to go because they actually employ people who know what they are doing. Heather, if you read any of this, please do not worry about that lady....you are fabulous and you know it!\r \r Also, in response to her comment about her wearing tacky clothes, she is pregnant and she cant wear the same cute clothes that non pregnant people can. But I have never seen her look unprofessional!\r \r Christie more

Stop bashing because youre angry. I love this spa 6/9/2008

Grow up and stop pointing fingers because you didn't like your haircut. And I have never heard of a place that flat ironed your hair free of charge. I loved my experiance at Santa Fe. I moved here from Houston Texas back in Jan 08 to get married. I am VERY picky about my hair cut because I have always had very long hair. It took me forever to find a place but I was finally recomended to this spa, and had one of the best hair cuts ever...Her name was Robin, by the way. She was young and beautiful and cut my hair perfectly. She talked to me the entire time so it wasnt boring. She was awsom. I wasnt even too specific on details of how I wanted my haircut. I was brief and told her to just make is look nice with the shape of my face and she did. My fiance (now husband) told me non stop how sexy my new hair cut made me look...Oh that reminds me....I need to call and set up another appointment. more

Terrible Hair Stylist--HEATHER!!!! Stay AWAY!!!!! 6/6/2008

I feel like I HAVE to write this to let everyone know to STAY AWAY from Santa Fe. I went there about month ago on a Saturday around 12 noon as a walk in. I didnt ask for anyone in particular and they right away walked me over to a sloppy appearanced girl named HEATHER. This was my hair stylist? Great, I thought. Her hair was parted into pig tails and looked like tacky. That right there is a pet peeve of mine b/c if the stylist's own hair looks terrible than I dont have much confidence that they will make mine look great. Also, her clothes were quite unappealing looking...another red flag to me. Also, she barely even tried to talk to me and I noticed that none of the other stylists even paid her any attention...another flag. I talked to her about what I was wanting and looked through several magazines to point out pictures and tell her what I dont like also. We decided to do a angled bob and a highlight. She never mentioned prices to me. She was washing my hair and all of a sudden I sme more

Heather-hair stylist.....is TERRIBLE!!!! She lied to me and took my money and gave me bad haircut/color! 6/5/2008

Here is the rest of my previous post......but the worst part was that when I went to check out.....Heather rang up the ticket and she never showed me a receipt with the breakdown of the prices of the services, etc and said "oh, that will be $300+"....I said "well, how much of that is not for the products Im buying?" She said "oh, you want to know that amount?" Well, of course! I'm not gonna tip you off of the cost of products....how rude! She said "$221" still without showing me a receipt. So I paid the $221 with the 15% tip of $33 and when she handed me the receipt I noticed something on it. She charged me $25 for the good smelling "conditioner" that I didnt ask for!! Also, she charged me $15 for flat ironing my hair....again, she never told me I would be charged for that!!!!! When I talked to her, she said "well, ive been trained by Redken and this is what we do to make sure the color lasts!". So I stupidly accepted it and walked out. After I got home, I thought about it and got mad! I called several times to speak to mgmt but they had Heather call me instead! She was very aloof to me when I explained how innapropriate she was with her charges, etc. She said I could come back in for a "store credit"....are you kidding me? I asked for the money to be put back on my card. After almost 2 weeks and speaking to the "owner-Gail" who could of cared less about what I had to say and didnt call me back when she said she would.....I finally got the refund. I even had to ask Heather for the refund of the tip I gave her for the conditioner and flat iron that I should have paid for. She gave me back $3, which wasnt even 15%!!! She did not refund the flat iron price either. I had even gone up there 2 or 3 times and was always told that "the managers are all gone for the day".....ya right! I was so mad about all this, that I returned all of the products I bought also. I dont want to have a dang thing to ever do with them ever again and I will tell everyone I know not to. Pros: Nothing Cons: Overpriced, terrible haircut/color, shady sales tactics, mgmt/owner could care less more

Heather-Hair Stylist stole my mpney by lying to me!!! Terrible mgmt, shady sale tactics, way overpriced! 6/5/2008

Watch the prices they get you in packages. 6/2/2008

I have gone to Santa Fe Day Spa numerous times. My first visit was about 3 years ago. I went for the "all day" package. The day started off good, but by the end of the day I felt as though I was being rushed out the door. I thought maybe it was just the day they were having so a few months later I returned for just a massage. Going for a simple service is great!!! Michael is wonderful!! I recently called to schedule the "total escape" to be told that because I requested Michael (whom I have used MANY times) that my price would be more. I had already done the math and the cost of the package was more than the total should have been anyway and now I'm being told that I'm going to pay more for the guy that I have used atleast 10 times?? I dont think so. My guess is they up the price of the packages because they think people wont notice and think they are getting a deal. I have found another spa who has the same package for less than half of what they charge. I only wish I would have do this before I spent over $1,000 there. Pros: awesome massage Cons: shady pricing, and rest of the staff not friendly more

Certainly not the best day spa 4/9/2008

I have been to several day spa's in Birmingham as well as other cities. I went for a half-day and found it appalling that the "guest" isn't lead through a peaceful coridor in the back...No...I was lead right by the front doors in a robe while being galked at by a few young boys. I went on Christmas Eve which was chilly and I froze in the waiting area that is right next to the windows. They have a small fireplace but it wasn't even on...why even have it?!? My massage was up first (it was horrible) and a punk-rock chick with 6 different colors in her hair was my masseuse. I'm not one to judge but come on...the staff needs a little lesson in grooming and appearance. While there, I noticed that most of the staff ran around gossiping and bitching right in front of everyone...not peaceful at all.To top it all off the hot tub was broken.\r \r Now for the good: I had a sandwhich and fresh fruit that was AMAZING...I guess that's the.only thing I enjoyed.\r \r I will NEVER go back...such a shame sin more

Highly Recommended/Best in Birmingham! 2/19/2008

I have visited many spas in the southeast due to my work travels. Upon arrival at Santa Fe Day Spa I was greeted by a warm and friendly front desk staff. I had a full day of treatments and found it to be of the best and most relaxing I have ever indulged in. I was escorted from treatment to treatment and there was never a question as to where I would be next. I was pleasantly surprised that champagne and wine were among my complimentary amenities! I usually do not write reviews for anything but this spa deserves it! HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! more

Royal Treatment, Queen for a day! 2/18/2008

This was my first time to a spa and I must say I will definitely be a repeat customer of Santa Fe Day Spa! I was treated like a queen from the moment that I walked through the door! Each treatment was absolute bliss! more

terrible service and unprofessional.. 2/13/2008

the services here are subpar, as well as most of the therapists. gave the spa 3 chances.. stay away! more

HORRIBLE. 12/31/2007

I worked here. Little do most of you know, those floors in the locker rooms, they do not get mopped. The drink station is literally infested with flies. The majority of hair stylists are new. It may seem relaxing to some while you are there, but, it is a madhouse. The front desk people come and go so often because of the enviornment. So don't be surprised if your appointment is incorrectly booked. I had such a horrible experience working there that I am scared to even visit another spa within Birmingham. Just remember that wax they put on your eyebrows has been on someone elses pubic hairs. more
