I keep coming back to this place every time I'm in the area -- its never failed to disappoint! Freshest catch. I had the grouper, wife had soft shelled crab. Both were great! Easy to get in and out of -- good desserts, fresh seafood. A must stop when you're in the area. more

Everyone is talking about this place so i was glad to have the opportunity to get in for an early dinner before the crowds arrived. Menu was spectacular, loved the seafoods. Diners are very trendy. The Service was outstanding and the food was even better!! more

me and my wife, we did enjoy the place. The food we ordered was the large fried platter with pretty much everything on it...and we enjoyed it.  A bit pricey, though, at around 30 bucks, but we ordered it anyway. The soft shell crab was the ""star"" of the meal, I guess you could say. The waterfront deck was AWESOME....and the beer was cold so no complaints there.\r more

Their Grilled Chicken, which is Marinated boneless,? skinless fillet of chicken breast. Served over a bed of rice pilaf w/ a small tossed salad is so yummy!!\r more

They have added a nice floating dock outside that makes it easy to visit by boat. I would always recommend this place to tourists as I think no vacation in Carteret County would be complete without a visit to The Sanitary Restaurant. more

Get their lunch special, of whatever is clearly local and fresh. Bluefish and jumping mullet, if you're into darker fishes, are heavenly. Don't go for dinner, because why would you pay an arm and a leg for something this simple? Their lunch special is the thing. more

The seafood here is always outstanding. They have recently added a new bar area that looks like the stern/cockpit area of a fishing boat. It certainly added new life to this restaurant! They have also added a nice floating dock outside that makes it easy to visit by boat. I would always recommend this place to tourists as I think no vacation in Carteret County would be complete without a visit to The Sanitary Restaurant. more

he Sanitary Fish Market is a tradition with our family! While fried seafood is a specialty there, they also have steamed, broiled, and grilled items. The hush puppies are to die for, and I love the key lime pie too! Try to get a table next to the windows in back for a great view of the water! more
