What a comfortable place with no attitude and great selection 6/18/2008

This cute shop is packed with great wine and the prices are very reasonable, with an entire fixture of wines under $10 right at the door. I've been wine tasting here dozens of times and always found the pours generous and the atmosphere delightful. The owner is friendly and helpful, and the selection is unmatched in variety and quality in Vancouver. I love this place. They've got fantastic gifts as well. I've bought several unique baskets and items for my clients over the years. Pros: Atmosphere, quality of the selection, lots of wines & generous pours on Fridays Cons: If you don't like dogs, they have two friendly ones. more

Wine tasting should be fun, informative and for humans ONLY - - NOT DOGS!! 9/15/2007

My wife and I wine taste regularly in the Portland/Vancouver area. We have been to Salut a few times and always leave disappointed. They run out of wine very early on and yet you still have to pay the full tasting price... this is even after getting there an hour BEFORE the tasting is supposed to be over. The older lady who works there, usually at the register or pouring wine has the personality of a Baraccuda. I swear she is so rude she makes you feel very unwelcome. Another complaint is that they have two dogs in the tasting room - - note this is a VERY VERY small space and two dogs in the way, begging for a cracker does not make for a nice, adult night out. Very unprofession! The prices are WAY more expensive than you can get wine for at the local grocery stores, and some grocery stores have a larger selection. If you like to wine taste, I suggest looking into other tasting shops around, such as: La Bottega in downtown Vancouver, Mt. Tabor Fine Wines in Portland on Hawthorne, and Vinetopia.. just to name a few. Hope this helps you make a good choice on where to taste. Cheers! NOT Salut! Pros: Hmmm... Can't really think of any. Well, the shop is cute. Cons: Rude employees, run out of wine, and expensive. more

Pricey Wine Store 9/14/2007

I have found this store to be overpiced, limited in selection and the employees/proprietors quite rude. A trip over the bridge to Portland is well worth it - there are so many really GOOD wine stores there!!!\r more
