My wife and I wine taste regularly in the Portland/Vancouver area. We have been to Salut a few times and always leave disappointed. They run out of wine very early on and yet you still have to pay the full tasting price... this is even after getting there an hour BEFORE the tasting is supposed to be over. The older lady who works there, usually at the register or pouring wine has the personality of a Baraccuda. I swear she is so rude she makes you feel very unwelcome. Another complaint is that they have two dogs in the tasting room - - note this is a VERY VERY small space and two dogs in the way, begging for a cracker does not make for a nice, adult night out. Very unprofession! The prices are WAY more expensive than you can get wine for at the local grocery stores, and some grocery stores have a larger selection. If you like to wine taste, I suggest looking into other tasting shops around, such as: La Bottega in downtown Vancouver, Mt. Tabor Fine Wines in Portland on Hawthorne, and Vinetopia.. just to name a few. Hope this helps you make a good choice on where to taste. Cheers! NOT Salut!
Pros: Hmmm... Can't really think of any. Well, the shop is cute.
Cons: Rude employees, run out of wine, and expensive.
