Ruchi is the best Indian food I have ever had. I used to live in New York, and I have eaten at many Indian restaurants in Denver and Los Angeles. Most Indian restaurants in Kansas City are the same. Ruchi is unique and serves food from both Northern and Southern India. The attention to quality in their superb food and service sets Ruchi apart from everything else in town. I suggest trying the lunch buffet to sample many of the superb dishes on Ruchi's menu. The buffet is by far the largest in town with many meat and vegetable dishes. The lunch buffet gives new meaning to full meal deal with many appetizers, soup indian bread and desserts. Dinner is my favorite. Every dish is cooked to order. I suggest trying a Masala Dosa, a crepe filled with vegitable and potato filling. Flavor this with the side of Sombar seed soup plus coconut or tomato chutney, and you are in heaven. The main course is the highlight of the meal, every dish is cooked to order. For the Vegetarian, Ruchi's Vegetable Biryani is the best I have ever had. This rice dish is flavored with cinnamon, clove and has around 9 vegetables. Also, try the Chilly Chicken. Speaking of chicken, Ruchi's Tandoor is the best in town. The chicken is flavored with yogurt, onions and cilantro and comes sizzling hot out of the kitchen. Please try the Daal Curry, a lentil dish with spinich flavored with curry. This is an example of how everyone can eat very healthy at Ruchi, and enjoy the special flavors and spices. Also try Ruchi's Chicken Tikka Masla, Chicken 65 and any spinich (Saag) dish. Ruchi's menu is large, so try something different. Ruchi is owned by a wonderful family who care about every customer's experience. They want you to enjoy Ruchi, to feel at home. Please ask the superb staff for suggestions. Ruchi features beer and wine. Ruchi is the best Indian food I have ever had. We are lucky to have Ruchi in Kansas City. Please go and try Ruchi, you will thank me.
