Simple, but Not Boring!! 3/20/2012

Royal Grinders has delicious subs and friendly service! I was visiting from out of town and we just wandered into this little sub shop. As a vegetarian, I have trouble find subs that aren't boring - but their vegetarian sub is anything but!! The bread is toasted perfectly, the cheese is melted just enough, and their sauce - whatever it is - is a great touch!! I recommend this to anyone who's looking for something simple but not boring! more

Best Subs in Seattle 4/22/2011

The tastiest subs I have ever had, I always get the Italian Grinder... and I ALWAYS get red chili sauce on the side. YOU HAVE TO GET THE RED CHILI SAUCE and put it on your sub. The Italian comes with like 19 different meats or something and the best cheese. The bread, I think the toasted bread makes you never want to touch a soggy piece of ""bread"" from subway ever again. Really friendly laid-back staff. more

Lunch with Lenin 3/7/2010

Wherever I go, I have to try their signature dish. The Royal Grinder was tasty, loaded with meats, cheeses, onions, olives, and peperoncini. (I'll take a Royal Grinder over Quizno's any day.) My mouth is watering just thinking about it. You get a free soda with your sandwich, and they even had diet Dr. Pepper! If you have room in your tummy for something sweet, they have a huge selection of gelato. Many tables and chairs are available outside for your dining pleasure, with the statue of Lenin. It makes you think of that party question, ""If you could have lunch with a famous historical figure, who would it be?"" Pros: great sub sandwiches Cons: parking more

Great Subs! 5/29/2009

I love Royal Grinders. If you are looking for a good sub in seattle, this is the place to go. Hidden behind the Lenin statue in fremont, this place has a good deal: one sandwich and a free drink! The sandwiches are around 7 bucks, however they are very large, I rarely can eat the whole thing and like I said you get a free drink. The subs are beefed up with lots of tastey ingredients, and they all have a delicious ""secrete sauce"" that comes on them. The staff is very flexible, if you would like to add or subtract anything. The owner is very chill, he makes a point of remembering his regular customers and he also makes a point to be at his resturant often to ensure the quality of his product and service. I have tried many items on the menu and have had no problems yet! Pros: Delicous subs, great quality, good price, friendly service Cons: not too much space to sit more

Average at best 6/11/2008

I had a veggie sub. It was ok, except the sauce they used tasted like it was in a plastic container that was melted. It just had a melted plastic taste to it.\r \r The price isn't that great either. \r \r Maybe the gelato is the selling point of this shop. Pros: Quick service Cons: Merchant fee, sandwiches more

HORRIBLE SERVICE and Illegal Merchant Practices!!! 3/7/2008

Ok...so I heard from a co-worker this place had terrific subs. I of course had to try it out. Well I can say now I will never be visiting again. I received the absolute worst service from the MANAGER of all people. This experience started off on a good note. We walked in and were greeted friendly enough and placed our order. When the manager told us the price we decided to pay with our debit card and were informed there would be an additional .50 charge for all credit/debit card transactions. My friend happens to work in Financial Services and informed the manager the practice of ""additional charges"" for these types of transactions is illegal because it is the responsibility of the establishment, should they choose to accept cards, to pay the merchant fee associated with the service. Everyone should know establishments CAN NOT charge you anything additional for using your credit/debit card for purchases at their business. Well the manager then began to speak very inappropriately about how they did not even want to accept cards originally because of the cost associated and we should just chill out. He then proceeded to act extremely rude for the remainder of our visit and even stated, ""You were being kind of a D**K"" after we apologized. I proceeded to inform him he was acting extremely inappropriate and he basically ""shrugged"" it off with a very contrived apology. I have NEVER experienced such HORRIBLE service and will never again visit Royal Grinder. And I am actually disappointed because the sandwiches were very tasty. Pros: Tasty Food Cons: HORRIBLE SERVICE!!! more
