You have Ms. Spears on the cover??!! UGH. 5/20/2006

Made famous in the late 60's, their original covers featured the likes of Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, The Who and more of the biggest and best that music has to offer. Over the last several years, I don't care for some of the features and the fact that they have to include so much mainstream pop and hip hop/rap people now. Putting that aside, they have had some great writers and contributors throughout the years including Cameron Crowe and Hunter S. Thompson. If you want to see what it was like to be a part of their magazine and their roots, check out some scenes from the (outstanding Cameron Crowe film) Almost Famous. He was only a kid when he wrote for the magazine as he toured the country with rock stars. How cool is that? more

Kinda Like a Rolling Stone 4/28/2006

I kinda like Rolling Stone. I used to love getting this magazine. I would look forward to it showing up in my mailbox. It has been taking a decline in quality over the years in my opinion. It used to be great now it's just OK. There are way too many ads inside for my taste also. They also feature not just Rock & Roll or Folk singers and bands anymore, but even Hip-Hop or rappers are glorified in this mag. sometimes. I will say I noticed you can get a subscription for a low price these days. Please folks at Rolling Stone loose the Hip-Hop, Rap and Schlock Pop stars that you feature. Hey, I know you are competing with Spin, but give me a break. more
