Editorial review from Citysearch 1/30/2014

I'm confused as to why everyone writes horrible reviews about this Dr. He seemed friendly, sincere, knowledgable. I only wish he wouldn't use so many analoges. I prefer bluntness myself. He was late for our appt. By ""our"", I mean the appt was my sons appt which required a parents presence. We were discusing medications. He tried a little too hard to explain things in common terms. I would have preferred a little more medical jargon. But if the patient does not communicate those preferences, that is the patients fault. He sensed the parents reluctance to put the child on meds (in this case) and he perscribed a mellow drug to start with. So he was considerate of the fact that it's our kid, not his. And he listened to our concerns. I'm sticking with this Dr for my child. more

this guy is a complete ass hat.... he found out i was gay... and he went from a ok doctor to a middle school girl in his mentality.... he is a prick as well as he is sexist and is rude... he told me to fuck off when i went to get my records more

Don't see this guy 4/11/2012

He completely wrecked me misdiagnosing me several times, and pushing medicine that was making me worse and made me hospitalized several times. Saw a different doctor, he cut all my medicine and requested me to take a psychological exam and neuropsych test. Took them, he found what is wrong with me and has been treating me. Feeling much MUCH better now. more

Nice Man - Rude/Dirty Office 2/23/2009

Dr. M is a nice man who is very smart. His patient skills are OK, I have seen worse. And he does seem concerned. But his office staff is horrible, and not worth it in my opinion. Besides being rude, their record keeping is lousy. If you have to use him, than you'll be fine - but I would suggest finding someone else. Pros: smart man Cons: office staff more

A tremendous help! Late/Missed Appointment Policy spelled out clearly 11/23/2008

Having sufferred from severe post partum depression, I needed experts who would listen and help. I have been seeing Ms. Mena for a year now. She has been a tremendous help in my recovery. She matched me up with a therapist outside of the office because she wanted me to be paired with someone who would mesh well with my personality. Without Ms. Mena's help, I wouldn't be where I am today.\r Yes, they have a late/missed appointment policy, but they remind you of it everytime you make an appointment. Plus, they call two days before to remind you! I know that things happen, I missed one appointment due to traffic and I owe a late fee. I wasn't upset because I know they are a busy office that sees a large number of people. I sometimes have to wait weeks to get an appointment because they are busy. Those missed appointments could be given to someone like me who goes there on a regular basis for help. \r The only negative I have is that I see a RN, she schedules 15 minute appts. Sometimes these go over 15 minutes and that makes the rest of the day's appt sbehind. I've had to wait 30 minutes after my appt time before I was seen and I was early to my scheduled time. \r Bottom line, don't judge their help based on a late/missed appointment policy (most doctors and dentists have these, too). Base it on the help/services they offer. Pros: Offer quality care from experienced staff, helpful, available in emergencies Cons: Doctors are sometimes behind in their schedule, longer wait times than expected more

UNFAIR AND UNJUST OFFICE POLICY< 11/17/2008

The day started great, my youngest daughter had just been signed up with Ballet and she was excited and ready to go, along the course of the afternoon in the middle of my errands I realized that I had missed MY FIRST EVER appointment with someone I thought was very kind and understanding that is why I saught her help, because my mother raged about how sweet and caring she was, turns out this sweet caring person went into my file and decided that I needed to be punished by withdrawing $150.00 from my checking account for missing my FIRST EVER APPOINTMENT, I tried to call the office and I spoke with the Office manager who did not even offer to transfer me to the ""nurse practitioner"" to be able to explain myself and apologize, the billing manager simply said ""You signed the paperwork when you came in for the appointment you should have known the policy....Not one empathetic word came out of her mouth not even after I had told her that the I am a mother of two living in Fort Carson, with my husband currently in his third tour to Iraq in the past four years, and that the withdrawal has caused several of my bill payments to bounce and now I am broke as well until next payday...I went to them for help and ended up punished financially for a simple oversight and I received no understanding or support by them they were cold and uncaring. I canceled all my future appointments with them and promised to spread the word of how UNFAIR AND UNJUST THEIR POLICY IS! You aren't helping your community when you treat your patients in this manner, it is counter productive! I will make certain to spread the word throughout the military community! Pros: It was close to Fort Carson Cons: Unjust office policy of charging a ridiculous amount of money for missing a first appt!!!! more

Think before you sign 12/20/2007

They make you sign a contract up front with a credit card number saying they can charge you(300.00) if you don't show up. I understand there are a lot of slackers and no shows...so i understand why they have this in place. Its pretty standard in all Dr offices. BUT>>>> I am on time for every appointment waiting 20-25 mins each time for the DR. I received a call 45 mins before my appointment that I had a death in my family and called, they are charging me anyway. Apparently the DR decides if he will charge you the fee or not...Dr Kilimann decided to charge me. Now i cant attend the funeral due to this pending charge. Thank you guys! Merry Christmas! more

Impersonal assemby line treatment 7/25/2007

This a huge and extremely busy practice. The busy office staff is curt and robot-like. \r The doctor seemed nice at first, but after I had a very severe reaction to a medication, tried to called him about it and left a polite message he did not return my call. I called back hours later; the receptionist told me that the doctors there do not have to return patient calls for 24 hours. \r The phone menu is long with access only to assistants for leaving messages, never the doctor. \r This is very poor patient care. Pros: Good parking Cons: Doctor unavailability, assemby line treatment, rude impersonal staff more

Dr. Richard Marciniak 6/13/2007

I want to say that I think Dr. Marciniak has treated me exceptionally well over the last 2 years. As noted in another review, he is incredible knowledgable on psychiatric medications and treatments. I think he knows his limits as far as therapy in general is concerned. When he felt I need non-medical counseling, he told me so, and even provided names. He was able to set me up with medications that have made me feel better than I had in years. I think Dr. M is honest, open, and caring. I regret having to leave his care because of a location move on my part. Pros: Smart, up to date on meds, honest, helpful, private more

Marciniak is a great clinician! 5/19/2006

I have worked with several psychiatrist and Dr. Marciniak is outstanding, if not brilliant in his understanding of psychopharmacology. He is extremely personable and cares deeply for his patients. He is compassionate and works in the interested of his patients. Pros: Psycho Pharm expert, clinical expert, great w/patients more

No people skills whatsoever 4/27/2006

Dr. Marciniak has great expertise with medications. He is brilliant with his chemical knowledge. Unfortunately, he is better dealing with chemicals than people. For that, his ego, fear of speaking directly to patients, lack of desire to listen makes him, as some patients of his who chatted about him, call him ""The Ice Man"". I also know of the difficulties he has with the other doctors he works with. U have seen them roll their eyes in Dr. Marciniak's inability to understand people and that people are not pills. Pros: knowledge of drugs, knows chemicals Cons: condescending, lacks feeling, afraid of people more
