Best music store in middle tennessee!!! 11/8/2010

Rock block guitars is my favorite place in nashville. HUGE variety of pedals and the finest amp brands you'll see. The workers couldn't be more friendly. They're all very experienced musicians, and they know what you need. Rock block has a very personal environment. I go there for all my gear needs/questions, and will continue to do so. Not to mention their excellent guitar repair service. Fast and easy. Definitely check out rock block guitars!!! more

Worst Store in Nashville 11/15/2009

So now ive purchased three things from rock block, a big muff, some chords, and some string clears. and i dont want to be stingy, and im all for supporting the local buisness. but really, the day after i buy ANYTHING from rock block, ill see it for literally half the price somewhere else. just aviod this store, the people aren't nice, the equipment sucks ( okay so the orange fullstack is tight ) but its still overpriced. aviod at all costs, and even if you go DONT BUY ANYTHING. Pros: Lots of Pedals Cons: They are ALL overpriced. more

favorite store in nashville and has been for over 12 years!!! 12/16/2008

i think rock block is the BEST place to buy stuff for your rig. Their pedals are fantastic and high quality i bought a Keely Compressor there about 2 weeks ago they told me how it works, what it does, how do change the attack and input level (this is the one with sustain and level only!!), and even BETTER they let me play through it with out them bothering me. Also when i was set up the employee turned it up to a very nice volume so i could hear what it really did (kind of loud for personal taste). I love it here my favorite store in Nashville and I've lived hear for more then 12 years. The service is great by the way they will help you with what ever you need and they know that instruments are supposed to be played and not pampered. They will recommend anything for your taste and style. This same employee found the pickups i fell IN LOVE WITH. I can't wait to go back again I should be going there some time this week to buy some George L cables!! I'M SO EXCITED TO GO BACK AGAIN!!!! Pros: great stuff, great service, very friendly, and plus they know what they are talking about!! Cons: i found 1 in the past 12 years and that was a defected amp that was on consignment more

AVOID ROCK BLOCK AT ALL COSTS!! 10/20/2008

long story short... ROCK BLOCK ARE A BUNCH OF CROOKS!! AVOID GOING THERE WHENEVER POSSIBLE. i have been screwed there 3 separate times. \r 1. i sold them a rickenbacker bass guitar. they offered me $475 for it. it's low, but normal if you're selling to a music store for straight up cash. i bought it new in 2001 for $1100. i accepted (regrettably now). dude comes back in with $460 cash in his hand. he asks ""is 460 okay?"". I say, ""no, you said $475"". i talked them into giving me a couple of packs of strings, probably worth 7 bucks total, even though they jipped me $15. \r 2. i had them work on one of my guitars. they originally told me it would be done in a couple of days. after calling them DAILY and hassling them, the guitar was FINALLY done after a month. all i needed was some soldering done.. i also wanted them to order a backplate for the guitar. when i brought it in, they told me everything would end up costing $50-$75. i came in to pick up the guitar and the total was $127.50. they had taken out my pots and replaced them without even asking me. not cool.\r 3. my buddy jon tried to sell them a gibson les paul signed by zakk wylde (pretty high profile guitar player if you don't know who he is). they said ""not worth much.. we can give you some equipment for it"". they offered him about $200 worth of pedals for this brand new gibson les paul signed by zakk wylde. cripes. \r 4. this past weekend, i needed a 12ax7 preamp tube for my guitar head. they had the kind i needed, and i was in a pinch, so i purchased the tiny little tube for $30.54 (and i've been regretting it ever since). i thought that was a little steep, so i went home and found out i could get one anywhere else for no more than 12 bucks. i tried to return it for a refund, but they WILL NOT give a cash or credit refund. FOR ANYTHING. NO RETURNS. \r i have had NOTHING but HORRIBLE experiences there. EVERYTHING is WAY OVERPRICED, including the services they offer. if i could give no stars, i would. Pros: good variety of stuff... more obscure amp and guitar brands. Cons: RIP OFF CENTRAL. PRICES WAY TOO HIGH. more

You have much better options. 10/1/2006

Everything is overpriced. I went to get my amp repaired. Long story short...I ended up picking it up after 2 weeks, still not repaired (with many unreturned phonecalls and promises not kept)\r \r The general consensus that I have heard in Nashville is to stay away from Rock Block, and I finally learned my lesson. I've had a MUCH better experience with Corner Music...so check that place out instead. Pros: Cool store, good location, cool stuff Cons: poor customer service, overpriced more
