ROAR! Rory! RAWR! 8/24/2009

Not to brag, but my hair looks amazing. Why? Because of the amazing, talented sweet and funny colorist, Rory McNeill. Rory has been highlighting my hair for the past year and I love it. My hair never looks processed, just vibrant and healthy and I always leave the salon feeling beautiful. Pros: beautiful location, beautiful hair more

I cannot tell you the number of compliments that I receive weekly about my hair!! And it has only been happening since Rory McNeill of Roar started working his magic in the last 6 months. Rory is a pleasure to be around, makes the time at the salon whiz by. The salon itself is gorgeous and intimate. The staff at Roar couldn't be more welcoming and accomondating. This is the only place in Austin to get your hair done, and Rory is THE artist to do it!! Pros: Talented colorists in an urban, stylish, intimate salon more

Rory and Janet are Hair Artists 7/9/2009

I I came into Roar with my hair looking a lifeless mess and now I leave each time looking like a hair model—seriously! Rory and Janet REALLY listen to you to make sure you get what you want, but you can also trust them to give advice for a style that fits your lifestyle and look. For example, Janet knows that I don’t like to spend a lot of time on my hair, so she gives me a wash and air-dry style, instead of creating a look that I can’t recreate at home. The other great thing about Roar is there aren't the pretences or competiveness among staff that you sense at other salons. In a nutshell- I’ve never been more pleased with service and talent at an Austin salon. Pros: talent, service, atmosphere Cons: none yet more

Best Salon in Austin without a Doubt! Thank you ROAR! 6/12/2009

Today I had the amazing pleasure of having my hair assessed by the Roar team, colored by Rory, plus cut and styled by Janet. As someone that has lived in NYC, Hong Kong and now Austin - I can honestly say this is a style team that gets great service, works together on behalf of each client and the results show. Never have I received so many compliments on my hair both cut and color. Plus it's a beautiful, relaxing -- location which always adds to my appointment that much more. So if you need color and style --- I can speak from first hand experience --- Rory, Janet and Kelsie are stars that I'd bet my mane on any day! Thanks for another wonderful visit! Step It Up A Notch, Look Stunning - ask for stylist Janet St. Paul 3/2/2009

I?ve been going to the same hair stylist for about 5 years, and have been happy with my cut and color. Recently a friend suggested Janet St. Paul, a hair stylist and image consultant who recently relocated from New York. Wow! Janet has worked with some of the best, and it shows! What a great haircut! Then Janet took time to explain the best use of my hair products, and showed me how to dry and style so that my new haircut will always look great. She?s awesome. Whenever I have plans to attend social functions an appointment with Janet for hair and make-up is a must. I know I?ll look incredible and receive tons of compliments! If you want to step it up a notch and look stunning, this is the stylist for you. more

Tons of compliments after going to Janet 1/16/2009

If you want compliments every week, you must schedule an appointment with Janet! I am a female with really thick, coarse, wavy short hair. For the longest time I kept it super short because it was a pain to deal with. Janet helped soften up my look by growing it out a bit and taking out the bulk. She helped me realize that I can add length without it looking bulky. It's all about the right cut and products. I get compliments on my hair every few days and can whole heartedly say Janet is amazing and worth every penny! more

Janet is a miracle worker! 1/11/2009

Janet's talents are beyond description. Imagine a hairstyle created just for you that works EVERY day! Janet was able to work with my hair's natural tendencies to give me a cut that gets me tons of compliments, but is so simple to style. She calls it ""no fuss"" hair. My husband calls it ""plug 'n play"" hair. I just call it ""finally I have great"" hair! Pros: great atmosphere Cons: can't think of one! more

Meeting Janet St. Paul was one of the best things that happened to me in 2008. Austin is lucky to have her here!! Her talent is amazing. She gives me fantastic hair cuts and tells me more about my hair and make-up than anyone ever has. If you want to look dazzling for an event, come in and have Janet give you a quick style. I get tons of compliments on my hair and it's all Janet's handiwork. She will take your look over the top! The only PG way I can express my experience! It was beyond amazing.. I was greeted with a mimosa and a radiant smile. I was blown away by the interiors and felt at home immediately. The service was impeccable and there was the cutest little dog napping on the snow white cow hide rug. My hair color and cut by Rory and Wendy was fantastic. I got so many complements and I can't wait till my next appointment! I highly recommend this place and the staff to everyone! Try them... Austin can only get prettier! ***BEST SALON EXPERIENCE****Austin has been waiting a very long time for a salon of this caliber. Roar has style and elegance while still maintaining the Austin casualness that we all know and love of this great city! The Stylists and Colorists are a cut above with their expertise and knowledge. They are honest with their opinions and actually listen to your wants and needs. This combination is very hard to find. The salon itself is light, bright and welcoming. So good, it's worth a flight! 7/2/2008

Rory's been my colorist for the past 4 yrs and when we both relocated from Chicago there was never even a thought about another colorist touching my hair ... ok? When I first walked into ROAR it took my breath away ... beautiful, relaxing and modern all at the same time. Rory is a master at color and has taken me from being a natural brunette to a believable natural looking blonde (extremely hard to do ps!). You'd think with a resume like Rory's that he'd have a bit of a 'tude (he's certainly earned the right =) however you'll find nothing but warmth when you walk in the door ... kelsie, wendy they're all fun, friendly and authentic (i hate the fake feeling you get in some salons!!). The only way it could be any better is if it were actually located in the state i live in ... Austin you are a lucky lot!! Pros: amazing results in an amazing atmosphere Cons: not in Denver, CO!!! more

Wendy is a pro at giving a great style that is easy to manage. Rory is simply fantastic with color. The staff at Roar are very welcoming and the pampering begins the minute you step into the salon. Roar salon is a hidden gem! It's an absolutely gorgeous salon with a down to earth vibe. I had my hair cut and colored, and I couldn't have been more satisfied. Loved it! Pros: Friendly, relaxing, clean! Cons: I thought parking would be a challenge, but I haven't had a problem yet! more

Best Salon in town!!! 6/14/2008

I've have a hard time finding the right salon for me. Most places I've been in Austin are too stuck up or not consistent. This was not the case at all at ROAR!! The first time I walked into the salon I was greeted as if I was an old friend. EVERYONE there is so nice and real which I found very refreshing. I had my hair colored by Rory and cut by Jacqueline, I love everything about my hair!!!! They both listened to all my needs and did exactly what I wanted...no more, no less. I would recommend ROAR to anyone and everyone!!! Pros: EVERYTHING!!! Cons: a little hard to find more
