I agree with Lisa, the previous review seems to be of a horrible "vet"(and I use that term loosely) that is located down the road a bit. Dr. Linkenheimer and his staff have always been wonderful with my 2 dogs. He does not try to push you into unnecessary procedures or tests that cost a fortune and has a real common sense approach to medicine. I have never felt rushed during the visits and the doctor has always taken the time to fully explain matters to me. He is great with my dogs (including my shy older girl) too. when he came to my house to put my last girl to sleep, the situation was handled with care and compassion. In fact, given how late it was in the evening and how long I am sure their days are, I am impressed with how we were able to take the last goodbye at our own pace. I highly recommend Dr. Linkenheimer to anyone who truly loves their pet. more

I believe that Tori L may have River Valley Vet Hospital confused with another vet sightly up river. THAT vet is notorious in this valley for being awful - not only bad practice but extremely rude. \r I've never known Dr. Linkheimer (i probably spelled that wrong) to be anything but kind and helpful. I can't speak for his staff, but perhaps if you really were dealing with River Valley Vet Hosp, you can write him a letter telling him of the problem and asking for a reply to assure he got it. i'm sure he'd like to know if his staff was being rude. more

We moved back to the area after being gone for 20 years. Alot has changed. Our new neighbors refered us to Dr. Linkenheimer. We were amazed at the time he spent with us and our old guy Tippy. His knowledge and compassion was off the charts. We didn't realize how fortunate we were to have Dr. Linkenheimer as our Vet until it was time for Tippy to leave our lives. He came to our home and provided us with in-home euthanasia. Less stress for all of us involved and especially, Tippy. We will be adopting soon, and we will be back to see Dr. Linkenheimer and his staff. Once again, a compassionate and knowledgeable Dr. more

I have never experienced such a horrible experience at a vet in my life!! I have 3 dogs and cats, we are a very good client for this veterinarian. Everytime I go to this vet, the staff in incredibly rude and acts as if I am bothering them. They barely acknowledge that my pet and I are there. I accepted that it didn't matter how they treated me but how they treated my pets. What really convinced me to change vets was when I called because my dog was very ill and I was seriously concerned. I called first thing in the morning, to be greeted by a rude woman, upon explaining what was wrong with my dog (with not even a sound coming from the receptionist), all she sternly said to me was, "we can get him in next week." That was so ridiculous!! My dog could have died by then!! They would not budge, not to mention there was no compassion at all, just the feeling that I interrupted her morning shows and coffee. One final note, the place is filthy!!!! more

I just wanted to say "thank you" to Dr. L. and his staff at River Valley. Today I had one of my best friends put to rest after a long battle with cancer. Dr. L. and his assistant came to the house to do the euthansia and I can't say enough about the compassionate, gentle care they provided to my boy who meant so much to me for so many years. In-home euthansia is a wonderful service, one I wish more vets would offer. I've been taking both of my dogs there for 5 years and can't say enough good things about them, the staff, the Vet, everything. Prices are reasonable, and they take time with every pet, you can tell they are animal lovers and not in it for the money. I've recommended them to a co-worker and she is very happy with them also more

We have been taking our 2 dogs and 2 cats here for four years and have complete confidence in the staff. The vet doctor is very friendly and always thoroughly examins our pets. He spends time talking through health situations with you and is very affectionate with the animals. Their prices seem to be average. A few times I've simply called when I've felt something may be wrong with one of our pets and an assitant talked through it with me on the phone without me having to bring the animal in and incur the vet bill. All employees are friendly and knowledgeable. I highly recommend this place. PROS: CONS: Small waiting room more
