those people at the office are the nasties people I ever had the privilege to talk to, the secretary that answer the phone was great she tried to help me but that wench of a manage needs to take a course on listening and speaking to people as people and not like dogs, I don't know how in the world she got her job she so nasty and rude, 4 times I had to ask her not to yell at me and I had to finally yell and curse her out, when I am to old and health issue to have to get to that point. when all the wench needed to do was lower her voice and listen to what I had to say, but she to dumb to understand that, hopefully you can teach her to have some manners and listen to people instead of running her mouth like she a dog and can bite me. more

Happy & Blessed in RPT....\r \r Just a positive word on the RPT, been here over 5 years now. I believe River Park Towers is a diamond in the rough. Most people don't even know how blessed they are to be even considered to live here. It is most of the old drug heads and their grown children that bring the place down. Though now we are under new management and I hope that they will take careful review in most of the old households and get rid of the undesirables that still reside here and bring RPT back to it's former glory. They need to start doing background check before they let new residences in and get rid of people who don't know how to value where they live and get drunk and want to fight and make problems for other people cause their own lives are miserable. more

A Time For Change..... 5/16/2011

It is time that we stop downing River Park Towers and work with the management to make it better. Many of the problems are causing by the tenants. Yes management needs to be more involved and I see that they are making some positive changes. We are getting new elevators, laundry rooms, SECURITY and they just fixed up the state park next door. Enough of the down talking let look at the positive things we are blessed with and work to make it and keep it better. more

So Sad 7/26/2010

This place is sad people. Yeah I heard the stories about how it used to be. However that was a long time ago when these old folks in here now were younger and created this madness that surround us today. Probably kids born from drug addicted parents. Come out here and see for yourself how the old crackheads, weedheads, dopeheads and alcoholics hang out in the complex from sun up till sun down. It is their teenage kidsand some older vandalizing ,robbing their own neighbors and them too hanging out all day every day like they never sleep, eat and read a book for positive knowledge. These kids are dangerous and lost mentally, spiritually and will never have a thing in life. Blame their parents, uncles aunties and grandma too. It is way past time that RY Management and its associates got the boot and others took these towers over. Put this place on the news for the world to see this waste of property on GODS land being destroyed by ignorance. Most of whom are African Americans. EVICT the fixed income and KEEP the sober working hard everyday tenants. HELP US GOD. GET RID OF MR.TURNER AND HIS AFFILIATES TODAY. HELP US HOWIE. Pros: DRUGS/VIOLENCE/ KIDSLOST THEIR SOULS Cons: PRETENDING IT DOES NOT EXIST more

THIS IS A HORRIBLE PLACE, OFFICE IS CHAOS 10/16/2009

I lived there for 10 years. You ask maybe why if the place is so horrible. Well, I leave by myself and I just enter to my apartment and go to work. I did not spend time around there. If something break I fixed it myself since it was a pain to deal with the maintenance dept there. I paid my rent on time every month therefore I did not have any problem. Only once I did what they call recertification wich I don't understand why since I did not received any money from goverment, I paid the full market price for my apartment, they sent me a letter saying that I have not submited this and they game a week to do it. I did it and from that time on I always asked them to stamp the date and sign a copy for me and never happened again. Finally I moved on april and today in october still I am waiting to get in contact with the bookkeeper wich I have called for at about two months every week several days a week and several times a day and left my phone nunber and never called me back and she is never available. They can't transfer to the manager either. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. Pros: Great view Cons: Everything else. Security, office employees, service, ... more

I would never! 8/10/2009

I have a cousin that lives there. From the highway it appears to be a luxury high rise which I'm sure it ""was"" but up close its a horror. The views are fantastic but the conditions of the building itself is horrendous. When I visits only 2 elevators were working and people hanging out in front of the entrances blocking so u have to say ""excuse me"" . Its dirty and unkept the only diamond in that rough is the state park. Now when I go I park by the street along the 87 and he comes out to the car. It has potential but I don't see the owner restoring it to what it was meant to be or was anytime soon. more

river park original 11/14/2008

Man, I loved this place growing up. The school, community room, the barbershop, the swimming pool and supermarket. The sandpark, the oldpark, cedar park, Millies, the candystore, the cleaners. I remember when Jesse Jackson's helicopter flew down to the baseball field. Sounds like everything you'd want in a community. You could literally not leave the ""hood"" as we called it until you were 14 when you left eighth grade. I was there from nursery school to 8th grade with a couple of catholic school stops in between. Was there from 75 till like 88 when my parents bought a crib outta town, they stayed till like 95. they wanted us outta there cuz they saw where it was headed. It was not the projects when I was there, and people loved it. We had our issues but it was the place to be in the 80's. I remember when that song ""dollar bill y'all"" was out and I think WBLS was throwing money out of someone's window in Bldg. 20. I grew up in bldg 30 on the 25th floor. Maintenance did they thing back in the day, even painted. We had cockaroaches, not them big waterbugs that be in BK or Africa, but yo, it was the Bronx. I remember when some woman and her family came to our crib outta town a few years back because she wanted to show her kids where she grew up. Man I know I can't do that with my son. I haven't been back since I got married in 06, but i still keep in touch with cats that know what's really good and as always, I heard it ain't worth it. Cuz, it hurts to read ish like what i'm seeing. I missed the reunion this year but i'll be there next year. Pros: everything you needed was there, you ain't have to drive nowhere Cons: One way in, One way out. And every block knew that!!! more

Watch Your Credit 8/15/2008

I am so glad I found this site. Everything the tenants have said in disgust about these buildings are true. The management has ruined my credit. They have taken me to court so many times due to their lax in paperwork. Don't let the nice scenery fool you. The grounds keepers try their best to keep up. They don't really want you in there unless you have government checks. It's hard for the average working person. I had a beautiful apartment, but it wasn't worth the heartache. Come home from a hard day at work and see what there is to greet you. Don't put yourself or your family in harms way. Minimum wage security doesn't even put in the effort to protect you. They have their own battle with assaults. Pros: with the right apartment....a fantastic view Cons: everything else more

It's not worth it 8/6/2008

I lived in RPT for 10 years and everyday I went to work, I walked out of that building with the intention of stacking my money to buy a house. I always knew I would get out. The conditions in which the people live are horrendous. It makes no sense that humans collect rent every month, and will hunt you down if you're late, but you have to live in such deplorable conditions. I lived in building 40 for the entire time that I stayed there and my family and I were greeted every evening as we came in by the local crackheads begging for change or offering to do silly jobs for you (like tie your child's shoe) to make a buck. While there I realized that it didn't matter how clean my apartment was because we were competing with the smell of the incinerator which made my house smell like s**t. It also didn't matter how decked out it was because the walls were always cracking from leaks in the pipes that caused bubbles in the walls that would eventually burst and damage your property. The people in the management office downstairs know absolutely nothing about managing and lose your paperwork everytime you go to recertify for your rental amount and then they end up sending you a letter saying you're missing something. They had the audacity before I moved in, to come out to my previous home and do a house visit to see the conditions in which I lived as if River Park Towers was going to be so much better. Refrigerators have been thrown out of the window, fires started in the incinerators, rapists lurking in the staircase, and the store clerk will insult you just because he has nothing else to do. Just to show you how bad it really is, I knew a woman that fell on the property and she was in the process of suing RY Mgmt because it was due to their negligence during the winter time. She was allowed to live there for free during the court case, which she was sure to win. After 3 months she moved out. Look at that, people won't even live there for free. Horrible!!!!!! Pros: Supermarket on the grounds Cons: Everything else more

WOW 5/19/2008

Wow! I lived there back in the early 80's and for me, it was a great place to live. I lived in bldg 30 on the 31st floor. The school was wonderful and the neighborhood was very well kept. The parks were always maintained and the laundry room was always clean. I can't believe that is has fallen off like that. Imagine that. more

getto 5/9/2008

I lived there for almost a year. Last month they broke into my apt by cutting a huge hole thru the cheap sheetrock and stole some valuables. Management nver cared. Didnt even try to understand that I wrkd & therefore cld not move other than between 10a - 2pm M-F. Some BEE- YOU-ELL-ELL-ESS-ACH-I-TEE, they talk about security reasons yet ppl can rob u at anytime. the place stinks, elevators are always broken. cops always in the bldg. IT JUST PLAIN SUX. i wld never suggest here for ANYONE... BY THE WAY, THE COPS INVESTIGATING THE MATTER SAID TO ME THAT THEY TELL EVERYONE WHO HAS BEEN ROBBED LIKE ME TO GET OUT OF THERE.. IT MAY BE LOWER RENT THAN OTHER PLACES BUT ""U GET WAT U PAY FOR"" HERE. IMAGINE, I CLD NOT GET A UHAUL TRUCK FOR DAYS AFTER THE INCIDENT BCUZ THE CLOSEST LOCATION WAS GETTING TOO MANY TRUCKS RENTED. REASON: EVERY1 MOVING OUT FROM THAT BLDG. THEY NEED TO JUST RENOVATE & OPEN A HOTEL OR SOMETHING... TOO MANY CRACKHEADS OUT THERE. Pros: PARK & METRONORTH Cons: CRIME, ELEVATORS, POOR SECURITY & EVERYTHING ELSE more

my good friend Arlene Miranda 12/13/2007

I lived in this hell for five years..The nightmare in living in this place I do not wish to my worst enemy..To all the working decent people DO NOT MOVES INTO THIS HELL...YOU KNOW THAT BURGLARS WILL GO INTO YOUR APARTMENT THROUGH YOUR WALLS? \r Well the only good thing that came out of this place was meeting my good friend Arlene...Which I have not seen since I move five years ago..So Arlene if you read this please \r Message me at myspacecom/mom954\r \r I miss you girlfriend... Pros: not homeless Cons: not homeless more

HELL HOLE 9/29/2007

I MOVED OUT OF THAT HELL HOLE ABOUT 1 YR AGO AND I WAS LIVING THERE FOR ABOUT 7 YRS. IT IS THE TOTAL WORSE!!!!!!. THE ELEVATORS ARE ALWAYS BROKE, THE STAIRS IS FUMED UP WITH URINE, AND DOG DOO DOO. PEOPLE LEAVE THE INSIDE OF THEIR BLUNTS ON THE FLOOR ALL IN THE HALLWAYS, THEY SPAT ON THE ELEVATOR BUTTONS. THE SECURITY IS DOWN STAIRS EITHER CONVERSING, PLAYING OR JUST FLIRTING WITH THE YOUNG KIDS THAT STAY IN THE LOBBY. ONCE THE ""D-USERS"" KNOW THAT YOU LIVE THERE, THEY WILL START ASKING YOU FOR CHANGE AND DOLLAR BILLS. IN THE SUMMER TIME, EVERYONE IS OUTSIDE SITTING ON THE CIRCLES,,, THEY EVEN HAVE THE NERVE TO BRING BEACH CHAIRS OUTSIDE AND SIT OUTSIDE ON THEM ALLLL DAY AND THE WORST PART IS MANAGEMENT ALLOWS THIS TO GO ON. THE MAINTENANCE IS THE WORST, YOU WONT EVER GET ANY REPAIRS DONE, UNLESS ONE OF THEM LIKE YOU. I WOULDNT SUGGEST THAT ANYONE LIVE HERE. OH AND DID I MENTION THAT I HAD TO JUMP OUT THE ELEVATOR AT LEAST 5 TO 6 TIMES WITH MY SON BECAUSE THE ELEVATORS GOT STUCK ALOT. WHEN I CAME HOME FROM WORK, I USED TO HAVE TO COVER MY SONS NOSE WHILE PASSING THE FIRST PART OF THE LOBBY BECAUSE THE PEOPLE WOULD SMOKE THEIR GUNJA OPENLY AND AGAIN SECURITY ALLOWED IT. WHEN I LIVED THERE I WAS DEPRESSED AT THE TIME BECAUSE I DIDNT WANT TO BE THERE SO I JUST PSYCHED MYSELF OUT AND JUST TRIED TO HOOK MY APARTMENT UP AS BEST AS I COULD BUT EVENTUALLY THAT DIDNT LAST. WHAT EVER YOU DO, DONT MOVE IN THERE ESPECIALLY IF YOUR A WORKING PERSON WITH KIDS. Pros: BEAUTIFUL VIEW OF THE CIY Cons: I MENTIONED THE WORST more

THIS PLACE STINKS BUT I HOPE TRUMP BUYS THIS PLACE 7/8/2007

I have friends that live in river park towers that i sometimes visit and i keep telling them to move. The grounds are nasty and people have their tubs, and toilets backed up all the time. The security is just there for show. I do not understand why the management allows the reffer smokers to linger in front of the buildings. There are always people out on the street hanging out. The stairs smell like urine all the time and the security cameras do not work so why are they there? Oh and if you have small children do not move there because the management allows these people with huge mean pitbul dogs to run around the grounds. I saw just last week a pitbull try to jump at this little boy and his poodle. Personally if i was authorized to carry a gun i would put a bullet in them all just to protect the kids. If trump doesn't buy this hell hole it needs to be burned to the ground, either that or they need to get rid of the crackheads and potheads and pitbulls and the security and allow upper class people live there or people who have real jobs and not just stand out on the street. Someone needs to go and kick in the property managers door and make him get this nasty mess call river park towers together. What ever you do DO NOT MOVE AND I CAN NOT STRESS ENOUGH DO NOT MOVE TO RIVER PARK TOWERS unless they go CONDOMINIUM. THAT WILL GET THE RIF-RAF OUT. Pros: ALL YOU GET IS A NICE VIEW Cons: THERE ARE TO MANY TO NAME TRUST ME more
