Rise'n'shine Child Care

I enrolled my son when he was 18 months old and from day one I always felt confident he was in the hands of people that were knowledgeable and caring. I never had a worry while I was at work. When I first met Verdis I was impressed on how much experience and knowledge she had on running a daycare--the 25+ years' experience showed from the beginning.\r It is a small daycare facility, very organized, run by Verdis and 3 teachers; the teacher to child ratio was great. Another thing that impressed me was every day they set up the yard/play area completely different. For example, one day you might walk in and there was row of ride-along toys set up, or dress up clothes for the kids. Everywhere from a new area of books to different big play yard toys kept things interesting and fun!\r The teachers, Monica, Nancy and Kenyia were always patient and positive and greeted my son with a big smile and hug. They really took the time to talk to me about my son's day. I miss that in his bigger new school.\r Fresh veggies snack time (they cut up fresh daily) cute creative art projects, fundamental preschool teachings and a big plus is the park next store for Friday field trips.\r All in all, Rise and Shine is now family to my son and me...It was the perfect starting point into school for both of us.\r Also, to note, reasonably priced in comparison to others! more

There are many good things to say about Rise'n'Shine, the director Verdis, and her wonderful teachers. They combine plenty of freeplay with structured learning in a very clean, organized and fun environment. In addition to the multiple regular activities such as a train table, legos, etc., there are also fresh, interactive activities planned each day. A weekly music class, veggie time, and lots of love complete the experience. You have a sense that the teachers really love your child! We highly recommend Verdis and her team. It is a rare find! I got lucky searching for a daycare last year for my son (then aged two). The facility is beautiful - clean, safe and cozy with fourteen kids and three teachers. They have great meals and snacks and a veggie time. It is an excellently run daycare/ preschool and much of the imagination and creativity of the school comes from Verdis, the school owner/director. My son has had a great time at the school and I was happy knowing that he was at a great place for the time he's away from me. I would highly recommend this place. more

Verdis and her Rise n Shine daycare are wonderful. Every weekend my son would ask if he could go to school that day because he didn't want to miss out on anything. They did wonderful artwork every day, and he progressed so well with his ABCs and counting. Every day he brought home his artwork and workbook for us to admire. He also loved the singing and creative activities, the play time and friends he made. We appreciated the structure that he learnt of regular meals and nap time. My kids and I love Rise 'n Shine. The teachers are thoughtful, energetic, and loving, the facilities are clean and organized, the families are friendly and social, the snacks and meals are healthy and fresh, and the children always seem happy to be there. If there were a 6th star, I'd give it to Rise 'n Shine. Pros: Wonderful teachers, happy kids Cons: Wish it weren't close to the highway...but not a major drawback more

The Best Pre-school Ever! I visited many preschools and even sent my daughter to a very highly recommended preschool for a short time but nothing compares to Rise n Shine. The founder, Verdis Ferraro, has been doing this for over 20 years. She works from her heart. Her sparkling smile will make your child's day. Rise n Shine is safe, cozy, clean, colorful, organized, gently structured and calm, with great snacks and meals. They do artwork every day, sometimes painting with vegetables, leaves, shaving cream! And young children do not have to be potty-trained. They also periodically go on amazing, well-chaperoned field trips. This is an amazing school! My child had been going there since she was 18 months old, and now she is almost three. The Director and owner, Verdis and teachers are very involved, dedicated, carrying and very active. Kids learn Spanish and sign language! The Rise'n'shine curriculum is great for this age, the kids learn a lot and have a lot of fun! I would recommend this school to parents who are looking for a safe and quality environment. I love this place. My son started going to this daycare when he was only 18 months. Staff members are very responsive and loving to the children. They do field trips and water play...which are fun for the kids. My son loves it so much that sometimes on the weekends he asks me if we are going to the school (which is a very good sign). The owner is really nice. She is very good with kids. I love her. Another plus is that this place provides everything...from diapers, wipes, snack, and LUNCH!!! Since my son started attending this school a year ago, he has grown so much, both intellectually and socially. The owner and teachers care about the children and respect them as individuals. The facility is clean and cute. I love the fact is it a small setting so the kids get the necessary attention. The parents are great and we all participate in the field trips. I highly recommend this place. more

My daughter is going to this day care for the last 2 years. Every morning while we get there the place is full with great toys waiting for the kids, the owner keeps the place clear, decorated in good taste and renew the toys very often. The ratio between the kids and teachers is very good around 1:3 or 1:4. we always get a warm and loving welcome, and on the end of the day the kids never want to go home. The education level is also very good, my daughter developed a lot there, she just turn three and she has great English, many Spanish words and some sign language word (all from there? we speak another language at home), Over this 2 years I never had any bad experience with them.
