Just not what it use to be! 6/6/2011

We have lived right around the corner from Rico's for over 7 years. This use to be one of our favorite places to eat but lately, the service and quality just hasn't been the same. The last 2 times we went we had to wait about 20 minutes before we were waited on. Had they been busy, I could have understood but they weren't. When we finally received our food, it was cold and 2 of our orders were wrong. When we asked if they could fix the orders the waitress acted as if we were inconveniencing her. While waiting on our food once again my toddler stuck the salt and pepper shakers in his mouth so when our food was brought out again I told the waiter so he could take them off the table so no one else would use them. He looks at them, turns around and places them on the table behind us. Yes, he understood english because he spoke to us in english. I told my husband that I don't care how convenient the place is, it isn't what it use to be and I don't want to go back. I know the old managers that were running Rico's left and are managing another restaurant nearby which has all the qualities that the old Rico's had and more. Goes to show good management does make a difference! more

Don't waste your time 3/8/2010

The only reason as to why i picked this place was because of the reviews I read. apparently the good reviews were written by the owner or employees. First of all i made reservations for 8, we didn't get seated till 8:30pm and thats after the fact I got upset with the manager about waiting. The place was not even crowded. What's the point of making reservations? Second, the appetizer plates were dirty, food was over prized and not tasty at all. Arandas down the street was more authentic then this place. Don't get me started on the entertainment. It was more like lady screaming at the top of her lungs! Over all I will NEVER go again and I have made it a point to share my experience with others. Just another wanna be Mexican restaurant. more

Great fajitas 10/11/2008

My Husband and I live right up the street from Rico's and I could have asked for a better local Mexican food spot. The chips and salsa are only average/good but the fajitas are great! We usually get the Rico's combination fajitas and the sauce on top of the huge amount of vegetables and meat is almost better then Papasittos. Pros: Really good food Cons: too loud on weekends more

This place is great! 8/15/2008

I can't understand anyone not liking Rico's food! Remember Ninfa's? Well, if you get Rico's Taco's (the ones with the fajita beef or chicken in the soft flour tortillas), I promise they taste just like Ninfa's! The beans and rice are very good too and I don't even usually eat the beans and rice! Their prices are really good too and you get a huge amount of food! Their flour tortillas are just like Ninf'a's ' they are very thin and slightly floury and taste wonderful with just some butter on them, too! Their bacon wrapped shrimp isn't as good as Pappasitos (but what is?), but it is very tasty. Their chips are very thin, the salsa is rather ordinary but pleasant. Their queso is quite good and you get a really large bowl even if you ask for a small order. Anyway, my husband and I eat here at least once a week and the manager, Cris, knows us from his past restaurants. In fact, we plan on eating there again tonight! I highly recommend it. Pros: Great food, easy parking, easy to get to, very inexpensive! Cons: Typical Mexican restaurant atmosphere. Kind of loud on weekend nights. more

We love it! 5/28/2008

Worst Tex-Mex ever 1/6/2008

Quite possibly the worst Mexican or Tex-Mex I have ever eaten. The chips were OK, but the salsa was terrible. A brown green color and loaded with cilantro to make it very spicy. The main courses were the worst kind of fast food, but cost considerably more. The rice and beans were starting to dry out from being under the hot lamp, the taquito was dried out but not crispy and tasteless and the taco surrounding the chicken to make an enchilada was dry and rubbery. A singer / guitarist played an amplified guitar and sang soullessly drowning out any possibility of conversation. Since the food was so lousy, it didn?t help that the service was efficient and friendly. Don?t ever go back. Pros: Friendly service Cons: Lousy Food, Very noisy more

Great Mexican Food! 10/15/2006

Ricos has great fajitas and great grilled shrimp. The margaritas have always been good. They have a good salsa, not to hot, not to bland. Batenders and waiters are friendly. more
