The worst shopping experience of my life.\r What’s wrong with these bunch of pumped up dicks with guns?!\r The sales people can not answer simple questions or answered the questions with 3rd grade intelligence. If you ask the same question the other person- you got different answer. One of the stuff member has to be pulled by manager into the back room, because he wants to confront me right there. This is going on in the gun store!\r I wish I knew where I can report these rude behavior and horrible experience.\r more

Rudest sales staff ever! Poor selection of schlock merchandise. Prices at or OVER list price. Stay away - do not go there. Turners is a much better place. LAX Range is a much better place. I had good conversations as long as I was spending money. I went there recently and was YELLED at for DARING to walk in the front door (it was open) before the store ""officially"" opened. When I went back in for an apology, I was yelled at again. I wrote an email asking for satisfaction and it was never answered. Rude, prices at or above list price, limited selection on many desirable items and a lot of schlocky crap. Do not waste your time or money of this batch of jerks. I'd use stronger, vulgar terms, but want to get this posted as a warning to the Westside and rest of the El Lay area. more

If your not buying a gun, they're not interested!! 6/8/2011

I went in today, 06/08/2011, to take the handgun safety certificate test. I was informed that if I were to buy a gun that there was a $10 dicount from the certificate fee. After veiwing a selection of guns in the show case, I infomed the employee there that I wasn't sure yet what I wanted and told him I would pay the extra $10 to just to take the test...he responded in an exasperated manner and said, "It's your money!" 5 minutes later he returned to inform me that the store only had 40 certificates left and that the owner of Martin B Retting, Inc. is only issuing the certificates to gun purchacers in that store at the time of testing!! more

One of the better shops... 8/27/2008

I've had nothing but good experiences everytime I go into Rettings. They've got a great selection of all types of firearms and related: black powder, C&R, modern hand and long guns, original war memorabilia, books, optics, cleaning etc. Pros: Great location (for me) , large selection, easygoing vibe and good staff Cons: on the higher end in terms of price but offset due to convenience and face to face service more

AVOID! 11/29/2007

I would absolutely avoid Martin B Retting. I've had horrible experiences there and vowed never to go back. Their staff is terrible and extremely rude. Why is it most gun store staff are so condescending? Is my money not green? If they worked in any other business, they'd be fired. Just because they wear a gun a work they think think they're gods? Pros: Big selection Cons: TERRIBLE customer service! more

Great selection, good prices, knowlegeable and friendly staff 10/27/2007

Probably the best gun store in southern Cal. Huge selection, good prices and helpful staff. I have purchased several products here and have had no complaints. There are a couple of sour-pusses that work here but generally, most of the staff is great! Pros: Huge selection, good prices, good customer service. more

Great local shop with knowledgeable staff 2/25/2006

I came here looking to purchase my first hunting rifle. The staff was knowledgeable and helpful. They actually started me out by showing me some of the used rifles that would work for my needs. While I was already leaning towards something that needed to be special ordered, it was nice to not be pressured. Pros: knowledgeable, No pressure, used and new guns Cons: small shop more
