Best

I wanted to email the company directly but couldn't find the email (only phone number) so this will have to do. I've had their service for several years. The trash collectors have...

Worst

The price of my service almost doubled from 2006 once CSI merged recently. The price increases were gradual, given the increase in fuel surcharges especially in 2008. As that ga...

I pity those living in cities with CSI contracts 1/6/2009

Basically have the same complaints as everyone else. TERRIBLE customer service! I've even asked to speak with management only to find that they're just as unconcerned with customer satisfaction as the snotty lady who answers the phone. They only offer recycling pick up every two weeks (for the same cost as weekly Rumpke removal) and 75% of the time they don't show. This means at times I build up a month or more of recycling. God forbid it rains and you come home to find CSI once again hasn't done what you've paid them to do & you have to store a soggy mess of recyclables in your house for another 2 weeks. OH! And the best part is when you call the next day to complain & they act as though it's your fault for not getting home from work before 5pm on recycling day to call them & tell them to come & do their job! And no, they won't come back on a different day. Cons: EVERYTHING more

not happy with csi service 1/2/2009

We just bought a house and everyone told us that csi was the trash company to use i got the number and called. i ordered 2 trash cans and waited 1 month to receive them finally after talking to the same female 5 times in the same month and being charged for them on my bill she finally gave me the supervisors phone number in cincinnati. it took him 3 days to get them out here. today is the day after new years and my trash from christmas has not been picked up yet and that was a week ago. i give this company 0 rating and would never ever ever recommend this company to anyone. Cons: the whole company is no good more

Relatively speaking... 9/22/2008

I'm sure the experience is highly dependent on the specific customer service rep you reach at any company and the specific driver in your area, but I just ""canned"" Rumpke and went back to CSI after a 2 year experiment. The Rumpke drivers continued breaking my purchased can (and I was forced to continue repairing it) until they managed to break it badly enough they wouldn't pick up my garbage. Calling Rumpke resulted in them arguing with me (note - not me arguing with them) that I should either be renting a can from them (far more expensive) or buy another can. Without going into detail - if the can survives the trip from my house to the pickup location and the load is light enough I can pick up the big brown beast with one hand, I really don't understand why I continue to find my can destroyed (wheels broken off, ""grab bar"" cracked, etc...) when I walk back down my hill to retrieve the can. CSI might not be perfect, but their policies are far better than the alternative - the pricing is the same but it includes 2 large cans with free repair/replacement of the cans if they get damaged.\r \r \r \r UPDATE: Retract all those statements.... Just asking where my cans were after 2 weeks of no information. Customer service rep actually hung up on me and refused to give me their name. Amazing that there can be a worse service than Rumpke. I might just start dumping my trash in local business cans to avoid working with either organization.\r \r Rumpke: Destroys your paid for can and won't replace requiring you to buy a new one.\r \r CSI: About as rude as I've ever dealt with. Pros: Company residential policies, includes 2 full size totes that are replaced for free if damaged Cons: $4 more expensive than Rumpke: Far worse customer service than the extremely poor Rumpke organization more

to much negative 8/18/2008

i have been with CSI for a long time. I have found there service to be quit good. I have recently had to change names on my bill. I did not have any hassel . I have found there customer service to be quit helpful. Thank you. We should be glad that there is a service that takes the time to get the information they need to give you the service you are paying for. Thanks CSI for many years of wonderful service. Pros: friendly people Cons: slow at times more

avoid 7/4/2008

their phone people have no people skills and can't follow thru on a simple order to pick up additional items which they get paid more for, very, very unreliable...never use again, I had to dispose of the items myself Pros: thumbs DOWN Cons: no customer service skills more

Run As Far As You Can 2/18/2008

This company is really bad. Half the time they skip my street. I used to recycle, but they missed me so much I quit. I used to call, but now they leave you on hold for a half an hour. Who has time for that? The customer service people never act like they really know anything about recycling. They say they'll send someone back, but they never do. One time they refused to take my newspapers that were bundled neatly together and tied with a rope, just like the City's instruction flyer said to do. When I called, they said the newspapers should have been inside the recycling bin; but they wouldn't fit! \r \r Does anybody really know where they take the recycling? Rumpke has a recyclery in town, but where is CSI's? CSI's recyclery isn't listed in the phone book. I've called and asked if my civic group could come and see their recyclery since my city contracts with them, but they say it has to be by appointment only. I don't think they have a recyclery. Hmmm... maybe it's a question for the Eye Team! more

By far the worst service in town! 2/7/2008

Even from a commercial perspective, this company is terrible. I have to place 4 calls to get service provided and am always told another excuse as why they have not do anything yet. After two (2) different go arounds with their service and customer service department, I have finally had enough. I have never spent so much of my time trying to get something serviced. After this last go around, I decided to pay the early contract termination fee just to get them out of my life. It will be money well spent! Of course, they claimed they would pick up the dumpster in 20 minutes. That was 1 1/2 hrs. ago and I am still waiting.\r \r I highly recommend you spend the extra $7 to Rumpke and get the service you deserve as a customer. Your sanity will thank you for it! Pros: Cheaper than their competitors Cons: Not worth the savings, terrible service more

I understand BUT 9/23/2007

I understand the people that are upset, BUT where do you live?? CSI has two locations OH & KY and the best I have seen is in KY. The guys are friendly and when they forget to pick something up they come back and get it that day. In Covington they pick up everything that is layed out and in the other towns too. I hope it isn't KY you are having problems with. more

Not interested in their customers, only their bottom line. 9/6/2007

I would not recommend CSI to anyone. They charge more than the competitor (Rumpke) and offer you less. They recently changed their pick-up to ONLY items in a CSI container. This means that if you have more garbage than will fit in the conatiner they provide they will not pick it up. This can mean you have to save that garbage another week! How great is that?\r \r I just called to cancel our service and the CSI rep didn't even bother to ask why we were cancelling. It only proved to me that they do not care what their customers needs are.\r \r Save yourself some money and have ALL of your gabage picked up regardless of what type of container you use. Cons: Lousy service, over priced more

Horrible horrible horrible 3/9/2007

This company is a joke. They alledgedly provide a service - a service for which they bill you 3 months in advance. Thats right. They expect you to pay for three months of their ""service"" in advance. Does the gas and electric company bill you three months in advance? Cable or satellite tv? Nobody - nobody gets away with billing their customers three months in advance - and their service is miserable. They don't pick up the trash in bad weather, they don't come every week and they force you to pay for their recycling service whether or not you use it. If you don't pay for their ""service"" three months in advance they send you warning letters that your service will be interrupted if you don't pay their extortion and pay in now! Cons: Bad service, major rip-off more

lost, we'll take care of it, your call is important to us 8/20/2006

they can't find my house! \r \r throughout my 4 year history with CSI, i haven't had many complaints. i put the waste and recycling out, and they pick it up. i pay my bill and they continue to pick stuff up.... until last june that is. formerly an isolated event that our trash or recycling would get missed, now it happens like its taking maalox... with regularity! i have fond memories of calling then. a human would answer and resolve the issue that day or the next, no big deal!\r \r now, for reasons known only to csi, our RECYCLING sits curbside for weeks at a time while they have 3-5 minute wait times to speak to a human, and tell me how important my call is, and tell me that my call may be recorded for quality control purposes.... NOW THAT'S FUNNY!... and then tell me that someone will come back and pick it up. \r \r since CSI has gone to an automated phone system, i cannot get ANY satisfaction at all.\r my driveway is 310 feet long! i will not lug my recycling bins back and forth on a whim that they MIGHT actually pick it up on schedule! i'm thinking i may not pay my bill next time around, but you know... they won't call... or send flowers. they'll just keep sending bills and eventually stop coming altogether. oh wait! that wouldn't be a huge change, would it? \r \r why can't the guys who drive the garbage truck tell the recycling guys where i live? more
