I recently moved to the area and decided to make an appointmet at the Renaissance Salon because it seemed one of the few high quality choices in this part of the valley. I have tavelled widely and been to excellent salons all over the US and Europe. This is not one of them. Believing that this was a high quality salon, as its webpage suggests, I trusted the referral to one of the hairdressers for my perm. The receptionists do not have a central appointment schedule and customers depend on indivual stylists to return calls. When consulting with mine, I was suprised that she refused to hear any requests concerning the quality of the products used, nor did she listen to my experiences with past perms. She rushed the curling using a minimum amount of curlers, that were so old that they broke. Instead of letting the perm sit for at least 25 minutes, she tested if the hair was done every five minutes. She obviously did not schedule enough time to do a good job and did not have the professional decency to reschedule. By the time my politeness gave way to real suspicion it was way too late. I ended up with no curls and damaged hair without any type of shape or form. This is truly the first time that I am literally ashamed of my hair. It will take months and a lot of money spent on truly good stylists to grow out the wavy mess on my head. In general, I am not impressed with the place as it was not very clean and I did not get the feeling of being pampered in a way that makes getting your hair done a relaxing and joyful experience. There does not seem to be any quality control or general management checking on stylists performance. I would therefore caution anybody who is looking for a good salon experience to make an appointment at the Reanissance Salon.
Cons: no quality control
