The worst place EVER! 10/7/2011

I attended RBI for 2 months. And it cost me $6000+. Really?! I learned nothing. The two months I was in the school was classroom time and while I did receive a "kit" of generic supplies, it was woefully inadequate and I am thoroughly angry that I now have student loans to repay for the sum total of learning NOTHING! The teachers were very nice, but the administration was horrid and the hidden costs are ridiculous. If you don't finish on time... more money. If you miss too many days... more money. Get out while you can before it costs you more than money. more

DO NOT GO! 6/21/2011

I attended the Independence, MO Regency school and it was horrible! I was sick for a really long time and ended up in the hospital I turned in all my doctors notes and while I was in the hospital I had my mother call since I was in ICU and she talked to someone at the school. Since I missed 14 days they kicked me out even though they were notified. They said my mom never called and wouldn't talk to me any further. This school also has the worst teachers. I had one teacher I loved and they let her go the rest would just make you sit there and do stamp work instead of teaching. More than half the time they weren't in the class room. School is not worth the pay its just as ghetto as one of the cheap schools might as well go there. more

SUPRISED 2/28/2011

Wow....its so horrible to hear all the horror stories associated with Regency!!!! I Have three cousins Ant Two Friends who all graduated from there...and absouletly loved it!!! One thing that is true is of the uneducated educators, thats either rude, or fresh out of school themselves!!! Regency in Joliet IL Is VERY VERY CLEAN...Thank God...And I Will Be attending @ The End of March 2011!!!!! more

NEVER GO TO ANY REGENCY'S 2/21/2011

I just graduated from Regencys in Indpls, IN an I hate it an wish I had never started. I learned everything on my own, during my year there,I watched the campus go thru 8 educators!! That is plain ridiculous and alot of them were fresh out of school themselves or only in the field six months before becoming a educator. The other half are all old school and set in their learning ways an not up to date with the modern demand. The unexpected overages at the end also gets you and thats something you are not told about when you sign up like half the other crap that goes on there. They do not take any action on the students either when they are doing wrongful to another student or stealing. One girl graduated and had a problem with another girl attending the school too so the day of her graduation she and a huge group of people (including huge men) stood outside an waited for this ONE girl to come out so they could jump her!! I could not believe it an to make it worse they followed her with more

Regency School of Hell 2/13/2011

I can't unstand how this school call themselves helping other. My son is a week from finishing this place and they come up with some overtime charges, He has a child that he must carry to the doctor at times and he himself may have been sick. They went crazy trying to help him get that loan almost 20,000 and now they want 1,000 for overtime fees. Please someone look into this. The school is in Spartanburg, SC and it's not the cleanest nor is the staff nice. I'm sure he will have to go else where to get the proper training. I will be calling the Better Business. more

AVOID! 2/5/2011

I was a walk in client - it was horrible! The instructors were rude to the clientele (me) and students that asked questions plus it was tacky and unclean facility. Keep driving if you feel the inclination to stop in - save your $$$, your time, and your hair!! more

ScaM 1/22/2011

Ive attended this school for 5 months in Indiana. It didn't take long for me to realize I got scammed. I have learned so little!! This place has taken away my zeal to do this. Ive been in touch with the campus manager, advisors, and the regional manager. All have been highly interested in keeping me quiet and NOT fixing the problem. My stuff was stolen there ! They have cameras and told me they'd check the videos. They never did ... Or if they did , they didn't want to tell me. They don't educate you then they throw you on the floor to deal with customers. They wonder why most clients walk out of there very unhappy My anger lies in the fact this reflects poorly on the student who needs confidence to learn. I also feel sorry for people who walk into this place wanting services. The politics here are enough to make you want to curl into a ball and die. Double standards and powertripping are everyday realities here. If you are thinking about attending this school, please turn around an more

X_CUSTOMER 12/29/2010

I have been going to Regency Beauty for years. I think that the instructors do not care about what the students are doing out on the floor. Everytime I go here, no one watches or helps the students. The instructors are only there to rip off the customers. They charge for all kinds of misc fees not told up front. When they screw up your hair you pay for it. I'm very unhappy after I get my hair colored by the students. I have had several instructors be mean to me for no reason at all. I have left here before and and my hair cut was not even on any of the sides. I had to come back and the instructor still did not check my hair before I left. The bleach turned my hair orange today. I was not offered even a glass of water today from the student. She messed my hair up and its orange but to fix it another 15.00 not told about until leaving. I would beware of this school. The woman instructors have major problems. They need to be replaced. They are mean people. They need to help the students more

DO NOT GO HERE 12/28/2010

Please do not attend this place. It is the worst education ever. They have told us the only goal they have is to get us to pass state boards which they tech us very little about. They get you in quick and sign you up then you are stuck. I go to the Madison, WI campus and it is horrible. We are always out of everything. They don't care about anything but making money. They charge you crazy overtime fees. The average attendance is at 70% which would leave you with close to $3000 in overtime fees. DO NOT GO HERE! Look into MATC! Every student here hates it! The teachers could care less about teaching and instead are on powertrips worryign about the students meeting dresscode instead of wanting to teach. Every teacher at our campus is new. None of these teachers have previous teaching experience. This is their first time teaching and it shows. Run away! This is the most expensive mistake I have ever made! more

RBI is the worst beauty school 11/15/2010

I have been attending the RBI in N. Canton, Ohio. I'm going on my 6th week and I am so damn miserable there. I dread going in there. The instructors are so unprofessional. The head person that is suppose to be handling situations does nothing. I'm not learning a damn thing there. I am now trying to figure out how in the hell to get out of this place. RBI is definately NOT what they make themselves out to be. In between the drama with the instructors and their lack of knowlwedge ......this school sucks!!!!!! more

LIARS 10/29/2010

This is my experience, \r \r I have been attending this school for 2 months. I liked it all the way until I was in my second week.\r \r After that I had a professor that talked to me like I was a puppy dog that did something bad. I would ask a question and get talked to like crap. I do not feel like this is right.\r \r I hate the fact that this school makes an impression that they are holy than thou when they have a bunch of punks in this school. They allow students to pick on one another and they allow the instructors do the same.\r \r I ask for help and get yelled at like I did something wrong. I have finally gotten to a point where I hated to get up in the morning to go. So, today was my end point I WITHDREW\r \r If anyone has any sense they would never go to this school. more

Regency Beauty Institute 10/26/2010

I attend the Winston Salem, NC campus and This School does not give you the education that they portray in the beginning and is ridiculously over priced. They send you home for ridiculous reasons in turn lowering your attendance so that they can charge you more money in the end. The Manager is never there and if you have any questions you have to call your "advisor" in Minnesota that is usually a rude female that also cant answer any of your questions. Save your time, money and sanity & go somewhere else more

RBI - Terrible choice for a school... 6/7/2010

I am currently attending the Fayetteville, Arkansas RBI and I have to say this is the worst school. Let me elaborate, nothing is organized, the teachers have NEVER worked in a salon; they just got their license and went straight into teaching. We can't ever use real product to actually see what we're doing wrong that we need to expand our knowledge on. One of my teachers who is also the floor manager is the rudest lady I have ever met. The teachers make us feel small, stupid and really put a damper on our creativity; if we even get to bring that out (usually not). We as students are treated like children, I have been embarrassed in front of the entire class, clients and other teachers to the point where I am left in tears. Before I went to this school I really thought I wanted to do this and I would eat, sleep, and breathe cosmetology. Now I dread even getting out of the bed every morning knowing I have to waste my time in such a poorly run school. We're supposed to love what we're goo more

So far So good 1/8/2010

I went to four beauty schools before coming to the decission to go to this school. The first one I went to was Mitsu Sato Hair Academy and it was dirty and the doors was falling off. The second and third school I went to was nice, but didn't offer part-time cosmetology. Finally i went to Regency Beauty Institute and was glad that they offer part-time schooling, even though It cost like 17,000 dollars........good lord I hope finicial aid can cover most of it.lol, but other then I hope that this school will teach me what I am looking for. more

Try another school. 9/26/2009

This place is a fukcing rip-off. I came in for class to be told all students have to help set up a modeling show (moving chairs, settting up signs, etc). We weren't even allowed to watch the show; we had to sit outside. $17,000 for this. This place is incredibly unprofessional. THey run out of supplies all teh time and provide us with brokes stuff. more

Student Perspective 9/12/2008

Obviously, headquarters knows how poorly this school is run or they would not have visited 3 times in one year to clean up ongoing issues, which still go on.\r \r I am currently a withdrawn student of the Independence, MO. campus, and I plan on returning Nov. 1st 2008, but my campus manager obviously can't get that correct or update my new home address either. \r I sent a letter to her and the corporate headquarters in MN, 3 weeks ago, and I have yet to get a response or a return phone call.\r \r This school is a major rip-off. Not only is it the most expensive school for a less than mediocre education, but it is also very unprofessional.\r \r The campus I attended had more turn over's in educators and managers than I have ever seen in a 12 month period.\r \r Not only that, the educators they hire are practically burn outs that couldn't survive in a typical salon environment, or they straight up just do not want to do their job. I am already in the industry on the wholesale side of things, and more

It's beauty school designed by artists, for artists. Like you! Here, there aren't any big, boring textbooks. Or long lectures. Artists are too visual and full of ideas for that. At Regency, you learn with videos. Animations. Open-book tests. All on an iPad. You'll watch how to perform services, practice on your model and get one-on-one time with your teacher whenever you need it. You'll see inside the salon world and learn what it takes to succeed. You'll watch all sorts of salon situations — like how to get along with other stylists, manage indecisive guests, deal with two appointments at once and even calm agitated brides. Plus hair, skin, nail and makeup skills in action. It's not just students who love our Studio Luma program. Salons do, too. Heather Degele, regional manager of Kay Casperson Lifestyle Spas & Boutiques, says, “It allows students to graduate knowing that whatever happens they have the confidence and skill to succeed.” And Sara McConnell, manager of Visible Changes salon, says, “I think the Regency Studio Luma students are better prepared for working in a real salon.” Come join our welcoming community of artists!
