We initially decided not to take a room and shop further for a better deal but owner/clerk came out to the car and lowered price. Took a quick glance at room mainly to be sure no residual cigarette smoke as it sometimes happens even in non-smoking rooms. Seemed okay, but dated...as expected. The location was perfect for our trip. After checking in, we left for dinner and when we returned it was quite noisy with a group of trucks outside the door. People drinking and being extremely loud and vulgar. I assumed that around 9 or 10 pm this behavior would be expected to cease either by the decency of the individuals themselves or the management of the property. Took showers and I overlooked the couple of hairs that I cleaned out of the tub and the ones behind the door. I checked the bed with a fine tooth comb and all seemed okay and clean sheets. Then the noise only grew louder....and louder. After 11:30, we called the office and 'suddenly' she couldn't speak enough English to understand what we were saying. (She understood fine enough to talk us into a room and check us in to the place.) She was very argumentative and wanted us to tell her what rooms the other people were occupying. A few minutes later, she was outside the door telling the people that we had complained and they needed to be quiet. She said she didn't care about the partying noise but we would leave and she would have to refund our money. She told them our room number! About 10 minutes after she left, they were at our door yelling sarcastic remarks. At this point, sleep was futile. We were so concerned that they would do something to our car, etc. I sat up and turned the lights back on and it was then that I realized the smoke detector was missing and had plastic bags? or something stuffed into the hole. Not a comforting site. I then attempted to plug my computer in and the wall socket sent a nice spark! Need I say more????? Stay away from this hole. more
