Best

I think I have tried almost everything on the menu! Fish Tacos, Cajun style, shrimp....you name it all good! Extremely laid back atmosphere. Can come straight from the beach and n...

Worst

The fish tacos were basically unseasoned tuna, lettuce and a bit of cheese. They were really unpleasant and bland. The grilled fish looked pretty good. I think tacos are not the...

depends on what you order 7/24/2006

Great: fish, fries, cheap white wine, outdoor dining area.\r Terrible: overpriced, and appetizers such as calamari are overly breaded, consisting of bare slivers of meat. I usually love calamari but the greasy breading made me feel ill. more

Great Fish Tacos 9/26/2005

This is a great place to come to after a long day at the beach. Quick food, order at the counter, grab a seat on the benches outside. Gets busy though. Great fish tacos! Pros: Fresh fish, Ambience, Inexpensive Cons: Pay to park, Gets crowded more

Fun 8/8/2005

The place is relaxing and fun with friends. If you havn't been there you should go. Don't expect koi, or lobster. Expect to sit in family style picnic tables and plastic chairs, eat good food, drink cold beer and see friendly people swapping stories with a smile. more

It's ok 4/23/2005

Don't eat rice on Sundays at Reel Inn. The rice is not completely cooked because the person who cooks the rice on Sundays doesn't know how to cook it. I complained about the uncooked rice and I received the above response. Aside of the rice, everything is okay, the seafood (lobster) was a bit overcooked. Pros: fresh seafood, fast Cons: food so-so, valet parking more

Laid back city 3/12/2005

Nothing to do. With your pals. Feelin' like lobster or crab cakes or perhaps a swordfish steak. A beer as well. Take the drive to this place. Stand in the line and order at te counter. Pick up your food yourself when it's ready. But don't imagine for a second that t's anything else tha a surfer spot with OK food. It's the ambience and the location (and the trip to the place) that makes this place worthwhile. Pros: Ambiance Cons: Seats more

Great beach dining 7/11/2004

Not fancy to say the least, but a great choice for a day at the beach or after hiking. The fish is great; don't waste your time with anything else on the menu. I'd call this an institution in the very best way. Pros: Fish, Cold Beer, Patio dining more

FRESH Seafood, Reasonable Prices 6/6/2004

Anytime I'm in the mood for seafood, the Reel Inn is the first spot that comes to mind. This is a very casual, beach-side atmosphere. Wait in line at the order window, find seats at the numerous picnic tables (inside and several outdoor patios), and listen closely for your name. (And have a 2nd choice of entree in mind. Popular items often sell-out.) I love bringing people for their first time. Even my dear old aunt from Indiana enjoyed it -- and she doesn't like seafood! (She had chicken.) Reasonable prices? Dinner for two: Fried shrimp appetizer, grilled catfish, grilled salmon, potatoes, steamed veggies, salad, and soft-drinks. Under $40. Pros: Free valet parking, Fresh, fresh seafood, Kid's menu Cons: , Long lines common more

Grilled Fish Tacos 9/10/2002

I used to work near the 4th St Prominade. I miss the casual atmosphere and especially the Grilled Fish Tacos. Huge portions and delish. more

Cheaped Up 9/2/2002

My husband and I have been going to the Reel Inn for at least 7 years now. I even planned a suprise birthday party for him there since we loved the food and it had a lot of sentimental value. However, we went there yesterday and the guy taking orders did not want to be there and they cheaped up the food. 8 baby shrimps on the shrimp tacos and a splattering of lettuce. Not impressed. Atmosphere still good but they need to concentrate on the food. more
