Real change is good for some people who sell it but the staff behind the organization are not honest people. The director and supervisor . Anything you report to real about a vendor is used against them even if the reports are false of misleading. Alota good honest people have been dismissed cause of no proper investigation. poor quality staffing more

buy a copy of Real Change from a certified vendor 6/13/2006

If you don't already know about the Real Change newspaper, check it out: www.realchangenewspaper.org They are a non-profit group that publishes a newspaper that explores issues surrounding homelessness and poverty in Seattle. From their site: "Our publication strives to create fairness, opportunity and community by covering issues that socially conscious people want to know about, from topics surrounding poor and homelessness, to stories about labor, the environment, public health and civil liberties (to name a few)." You can subscribe, but I usually buy an issue from the woman who sells it outside PCC, even if I know I won't have time to read it. Their vendors are homeless and they buy their copies for $0.35 and sell them for $1 and are able to pocket the profit. more

Terrific Non-Profit Community Service Organization 11/3/2005

I attended abenefit breakfast for Real Change this morning and I have to say I came away really impressed with what this organization is doing in Seattle. Real Change is the newspaper that vendors market and sell on the streets of Seattle, in front of your local grocery store, etc. If you believe as I do, that the best way to give folks a helping hand is to give them a sense of purpose and real rewards for doing good, then support Real Change in ways big or small. Make a donation or do yourself a favor and buy one the next time you get the chance. Not only is it for a good cause but also it's worth a read. more
