Reading Frenzy is kind of like your friendly neighborhood newsstand -- without the Vogue, Good Housekeeping, Newsweek or Guns & Ammo. Instead, Reading Frenzy offers a fun, funky and quirky assortment of indie comics, 'zines and books for a decidedly different point of view than the mainstream media. You'll find heartfelt, shoe-gazing comics, 'zines for vegan Martha Stewarts, oddly cute Japanese stationery and cards and a lot, lot more. Reading Frenzy clearly supports the indie creator based in Portland and across the USA, and as a result, you'll often find little gems of creativity that just aren't available in your average bookstore or newstand. It can be a little too emo/hipster for some, but it's worth a visit to see what is bubbling under in Portland's zine scene.
Pros: Broad selection of quirky, indie publications, supports Portland artists and writers
Cons: can be kind of emo
