Go to anyone else but Dr. Weingarten. He will insist that he needs you to come in for a visit even if nothing is wrong with you in order to make more money. I went into his office for an unnecessary visit one day and there were over 18 people in the tiny waiting room. They had crammed everyone into the same appointment slots and I waited over 2 hours to see the doctor. The staff at the office never even apologized to everyone for the wait. They barely acknowledged our presence.\r \r Dr. Weingarten himself is extremely short with patients. He rushes them and does not listen attentively. On a separate visit to his office after my tonsillectomy I explained to him that I was in the worst pain I had ever felt in my life and that I was considering going to the emergency room. He retorted, ""Well, you are doing better than 99% of people who come into this office, so you must not have a high tolerance for pain."" I was shocked by his rudeness. Save yourself the trouble. I recently had surgery with Dr. Randall Weingarten. I found him to be clear, concise and very personable. He was kind and caring about my condition and even made time for me after hours to discuss my concerns.His staff was absolutely wonderful to me. Everything was explained to me prior to the surgery, by both Dr. Weingarten and his staff. As I am sure you can imagine, when you are facing surgery, you are not always cognizant of all the directions you are being given. His staff repeatedly and very patiently held my hand prior to surgery, explaining everything over and over whenever I had questions. They were cheerful and reassuring, as was Dr. Weingarten.He even came in on his own time, on a Sunday, to remove my stitches. The man has four small children, so this is no small feat in my opinion. His waiting room is always packed for a reason, he is an excellent physician. Yes, you may have to wait a bit in the waiting room or a week or two to get an appointment, but I recently waited four months for a GYN appointment , and I was an already established patient! Try getting a same day appointment with a neurologist or an endocrinologist and see how long that can take! I feel very confident with Dr. Weingarten, I felt that he had my best interests at heart and I will gladly continue recommending him to all my friends, family and aquaintances. have heard Dr. W is a great surgeon. I have heard he is great with kids but I can't attest to either of these. While he may be talented with a scalpel, Dr. Weingarten is not so talented with his patients. He is very unwelcoming and cold and not the least bit comforting. After performing nasal/sinus surgery that I do not believe I needed, I was given absolutely no explanation or warning of what to expect after the surgery. Follow up visits were horribly painful and neither he nor his staff shows any warmth or sympathy. I am a 50 year old woman who has been in the medical world. I am completely amazed. He may be good, but I wouldn't go back. He is the most unwelcoming and painful doctor I have ever seen - in more ways than one. ITS AMAZING TO READ THE REVIEWS THAT PEOPLE WRITE. THEY FEEL THEY HAVE SO MUCH MORE KNOWLEDGE THAN SOMEONE WHO HAS TRAINED FOR YEARS IN THEIR SPECIALITY.THE REALIZATION IS SOMETIMES WE AS ''PATIENTS'' DONT LIKE WHAT SOMEONE ELSE HAS TO SAY,THEN DECIDE THAT THIS PHYSICIAN IS INCOMPETENT OR SELF DEPRICATING. I TOO WAS REFERRED TO DR WEINGARTEN AND FELT HE WAS AN EXCELLENT PHYSICIAN AS WELL AS A SURGEON. HE WAS ABLE TO DIAGNOSE A CANCER THAT I HAVE HAD FOR SOMETIME NOW. I know always running late, 3-4 weeks out to make an appointment and you are right maybe he can be an arrogant know it all but one thing I can say after being in the medical field and working for many physicians and reading his reviews I can say that YES he is one of the best physicians that Nevada can have. He has diagnosed very rare malignancies things you only read in books see on TV. The other reviewer is right if he was not good people would not go to him, instead people dont mind waiting for an appointment three four weeks or coming to his office and knowing he is running late. About his staff its unfortunate about rude office staff he might have but one thing if an office employee is rude than the best thing is to write to him or at your office visit you discuss this with him and assure you that he will resolve the issue. All I can say to bad if you dont like him he is great.Maybe he can improve his bedside manners , be more patient , not as arrogant as some people may call him, but above all this he is one of the greatest doctors I have every mett and sometimes his knowlegable self does not allow him to be a little more patient. Dr. Weingarten is one of the best doctors in town,if this was not true there would not have Dr's or Dr's family members going to see him for their own care, I have friends that have gone to see him and have taken their children to see him and he has given them the right diagnosis that other Dr's have missed,he is a very busy Dr.but there is a reasonf for that, if he was such bad Dr. he would not have the load of patients that he has, I have nothing to say other that we have to remember we need t be patient how is it that we can go to the DMV and spend all day there and not complain, and we can't spend an hour at a Dr's\r office knowing that there might be comeone being treated for an emrgency and that's why you have to wait longer than expected, think about it that could be you or a loved one that needs that extra care. more

My goal was to scuba dive, but my ears were weak, I thought. Decided to consult.\r In 3 minutes (what a genius) this 'doctor' concluded that I had an ALLERGY. I never had any, but I was silly to trust. Maybe, I thought, who knows... He was so fast to find a problem, I thought... - just looked inside of my nose without any special devices... He might be an excellent specialist, I thought. I got free samples of Allegra from him. I don't know what is wrong with me, but I got a shake from it. The doze was big, maybe. I still took it for 3 days and got pain in liver area. Wanted to stop, but I was trusting a doctor. It was a weekend, so I decided to win against an allergy. Continued till my lips got blue and I almost called 911. On Monday I was VERY sick and called the office of Weingarten instead. My surprise: they said 'go to emergency' (go away). I was shocked: 'it was your office who caused me a health problem. I'd like to talk to the Doctor.' His nurse told that it was something WRONG with me, maybe I am on a 'bad medication' or under other influence, or something. She said ""we give samples of Allegra to 3,000 patients per year, and you are the first one to complain. You cannot proof that you had no allergy when you came to us!' She hung up on me. I understood that I cannot proof anything. This Doctor is a trouble, but there is no way to proof that he made me sick. I was 100% healthy, but this 'specialist' and his treatment made from me someone who cannot breathe Spring wind (pollens), cannot clean house with chemicals, cannot take Tylenol without to get itchy. For a couple of years I suffer from Allergy. It is a present from Weingarten. I always will think about him as a terrible, cold, arrogant person. My joy of life (forget about scuba) went down because of him, but he will treat others forever: there is no proof he did somethign wrong. Avoid. Avoid! more

Dr. Weingarten spent about 3 minutes with my daughter and concluded she needed tubes in her ears. Not feeling comfortable with him and that conclusion, since he did not do any other tests, I FLEW my daughter to Los Angeles (where I am from) and went and saw another ENT - recommended by Tenth St. Pediatrics - one of the best groups in Santa Monica. Dr. Chip Miller in Santa Monica, did a hearing test, along with a few other tests and determined my daughter's hearing was perfect and her ears were also completely clear. There was absolutely NO need to get tubes - at least not now. He gave us 3 options before the final option of getting tubes. He said, if it were her daughter, he would wait and see. Not everyone has the resources to fly their child out of state, but I AM GLAD I DID IT. I almost subjected my daughter to surgery at the whim of Dr. Weingarten, who made a split decision. I was most unimpressed with his level of care and the service I received at his practice. Whatever you do - get a second opinion and try to avoid this one if you can. The practice is too busy and Dr. Weingarten was too busy making money off everyone to take the time to properly diagnose my most beloved daughter. BE CAREFUL WITH THIS DOCTOR and always go with your gut instinct. I am calling his office today to cancel the surgery I had already scheduled (oh, they were sure to have me schedule a surgery by the time I left too). Be careful with your precious children!!! Rude and arrogant best describe Dr Weingarten. He is definitely NOT interested in listening to the patient. He is short, abrupt and condescending. He bounces in the room and spends about three minutes trying to contradict what you are trying to explain. His superior attitude is totally inappropriate. Anyone looking for an ENT that is going to show any compassion had better look elsewhere. You will not find it in this doctor. He definitely is impressed with himself. Dr. Weingarten's reputation as the best ENT in Las Vegas is dead-on. Let's face it, if your Dr. has sent you to an ENT, it's usually because you have a chronic condition. The normal treatment path is going to start with less invasive options (eg. Antibiotics, decongestants, steroids), exhaust those options first; eventually operate if all else fails. Done right, this process takes time. Dr. Weingarten recently operated on my sinuses using the most advanced techniques available - real-time CT scan. I'm thrilled with the results. May be a great ENT and surgeon, but I feel like my insurance was being milked to be blunt about it!!!...Has you keep coming back, does not tell you upfront what the possible outcomes and their probabilities are...even after seeing your CAT Scan. Office staff is not patient orientated and could care less if you need to see him sooner than the 3-4 week appointment that they want to give you....what about an emergency...what then....sorry to say, but if you need explanation and need to see him right away...forget it...you are lucky if you get two minutes with him after waiting weeks to see him....better to look elsewhere.
