Worst

Sent in a purse for the replacement screw that holds the strap on. Tied around the strap was a pair of tassels that could slide along the length of the strap. I'm unable to unders...

I sent my Gucci bag to them for repairs and cleaning (I purchased the bag from an estate sale)....I got the bag back in a few weeks and was extremely happy with the repairs and the cleaning. I would recommend them to anyone who can trust that they will do the job they said they would and more.........Whenever I need a designer bag repaired or cleaned in the future, I will use the Rago Brothers. BEST IN THE BUSINESS 4/29/2012

Rago Brothers is simply the best in the business! I consistently bring them my wife's bags and shoes and trust them with properly handling our items that our worth thousands of dollars. Their expertise in all matters shoe and bag repair is astounding. The owners are always in the shop and always jumping at the opportunity to help customers. They are very fair and honest and will not take a job just to make money on it rather they will honestly tell you if they can do quality work to meet your needs. The staff at the counters are always pleasant and courteous. The work is completed quickly and presented in a professional manner. I strongly recommend Rago Brothers not only because they are a small town family owned 100 year old institution but also because they are the best at what they do. more

LOVED IT 5/10/2011

I've found my new addiction!! Took my shoes in for heel, they did in right on the spot for $12 and gave my new looking clean shoes. The wait area is fun to sit in where you can watch all the people come and go work and talk.... I've been going back with my family shoes, bags and even chair. Is there anything they can't do?!!! Friendly, responsible, timely, and great quality service! 1/29/2011

I've brought my leather goods and shoes to a lot of so called ""leather repair"" centers before I came across Rago Brothers (including those ""highly recommended"" leather/shoe repair places in New York). Rago Bros has the best customer service, turnaround time, and repair quality of any company I've ever brought my valued leather goods to. I had the pleasure of taking a tour of the shop and was impressed not only by their friendly staff and organized business operations, but also by the numerous designer companies they do work for. \r \r Now that I've relocated to California, I can't imagine sending my leather goods or shoes to any other company. I've never had any problems with shipping-- it obviously costs a little more with shipping charges, but for the quality of repair, I don't mind paying a little extra. more

They do not help customers when things go wrong 1/4/2011

Took my bag to coach on 84th & Broadway for cleaning. They sent it to Rago Brothers. Rago Brothers sent the bag UPS and it was delivered to the wrong address. UPS was not able to recover the bag. This happened on 11/08/10. To date, I still do not have a replacement bag. It is NOT Rago Brother's fault that the bag got lost. My anger with them is the way they have treated the situation. The bag is insured, and UPS will pay Rago Brothers directly. Spoke to Tony Rago who stated that his company would NOT give me any money until UPS paid them. Well that's great an dandy, except that according to UPS, Rago Brothers hasn't filled out the request forms from the claims department to get payment which was sent to them 12/17/10. Tony Rago was rude, unsympathetic, and unwilling to expedite the situation. He firmly stands by his decision that I will not get anything until UPS sends them money. He then asked me if I expected to get the full value of the bag....well yeah I do. I don't want money....I want the same bag. If not, then I want a bag of the same value. Not less. I paid over $500 for the bag....do you think 'm going to take less??? At this point I knew it was time to deal with Coach. He told me to call and yell at whoever I wanted because it wasn't going to expedite things. I called Coach and they are being sympathetic and are appalled at the situation. They will intervene and help me with the situation. I was told by coach not to worry that the bag will be replaced one way or another. I also called Coach customer service and let them know the issue. They said that they will be contacting the store to tell them not to send bags to Rago Brothers again. I have never been treated like this way by a company. I know I have given it enough time and have been patient enough.....so it's not like I am being an unreasonable person. It's an expensive bag and I paid $120 for Rago Brother's cleaning service....I should NOT be treated that way. If Rago Brother's did not insure the bag for the real value of the bag, that's their problem....NOT mine. more

Ruined my poor bag!! 11/17/2010

I sent in my vintage Gucci bag that needed some color treatment and to have the loop that holds the strap replaced as it had torn off. I found the Rago Brothers on the internet and assumed they would have some sort of experience considering how many companies they claim to work for. When I recieved my bag back I was FURIOUS. The stitching for the loop was uneven and not even a matching color! As for the recoloring, all I wanted was the worn corners touched up, but now I have a rock hard bag! It feels fake! Now I have to deal with my credit card company trying to stop payment. Hopefully Mr. Rago's sleazy charm wont win over American Express. more
