The salon is great and all the stylists and staff are incredibly friendly. Clean, neat, modern and quick. They only use Bumble and bumble products which leave your hair feeling amazing! Brea is great and definitely knows what she's doing. She listened to what I wanted and delivered a flawless hair cut and highlights. I wish I would have heard of this salon sooner. I will definitely keep recommending Rage and Brea to anyone in Athens. more

I had my hair cut by Brea back in July 2010. I asked for a razor cut to thin out my hair and also razored ends so that I didn't have blunt ends. She did a FANTASTIC job; I got so many compliments on my hair and how well it moves. It was so easy to style too. About a week and a half ago, I got my hair cut in Dallas, GA and I hated it. So I came all the way to Athens to have Brea cut my hair again. Once again, I was extremely pleased with the result. I will continue to be loyal to Rage and to Brea. I highly recommend her. The salon itself is clean and welcoming. I love the complimentary drinks and the Bumble and Bumble products :D more

This place was absolutely HORRIBLE. First, they were dishonest with the pricing, and when I got home, I realized that my foils had ""slipped"" and there was about 1/2 inch of roots still showing. It looks absolutely ridiculous, and when I went back in to get it looked at, I had to wait 45 minutes for anyone to even pay attention to me. They are rude, and did a horrible job on my hair. I decided not to even have them fix it because I couldn't stand this place so much. do NOT go here. more

This was my first time visiting Rage Hair Studio- and it will definitely not be my last! The atmosphere is great, very peaceful and clean. My stylist was great and gave me good advice so I could style my hair to look like it did when I left the salon. Great service and would recommend to anyone. I got a same day cut- which made the difference in my choosing where to go. more

I have been going to Rage for several months now. I love it! The atmosphere is great and the staff is very professional. As a full time working mother of 2, they get me in and out within a reasonable time. I cherish my weekends so I appreaciate that! Kim is my stylist and she is wonderful. I started going to Rage 4 years ago and have been going there ever since because I love the way they cut and style my hair! I currently go to Heather who is great with layering my hair and always does what I say. She is also a very sweet and easy going girl. My hair ends up looking really good when I leave and the softness and shine stay like that for quite some time! Their products are really good and I love bumble and bumble. I would recommend Rage hair studio to anyone who is looking for a good haircut/color and nice/efficient stylists as well! :) more

After moving to Athens from the midwest and finding that southern hospitality was few and far between I learned quickly that your most talked about salons wasn't the place for me. I found Rage after being desperate and walking up to a girl while shopping one day and asked where and who did her hair I FOUND HEATHER! Heather is so great, she has made me so confident in living in the south with my great haircuts and color and making me fit in with the trends! She also takes the time to talk with you and not just decided for you your haircolor/cut. Never any pressure! and perfectly fine if I just want the ""same as last time"". The atmosphere of the salon is not clicky, its ""homey."" I am so comfortable and not afraid of who is watching me, and/or I am not listening to a full conversation to the person and her hairstylist next to me! So great! All around! Receptionists are always friendly and very helpful too! more

My daughter wanted a trendy cut to celebrate a ""big"" birthday. We were excited to be able to get a same day appointment. Once we arrived, she was wowed by the atmosphere. We were immediately welcomed and offered a drink. \r \r Jenna was fabulous. She took her time and created a beautiful cut that gave my teen great confidence. more

I've always wanted wild and crazy hair but my career choice would not allow it. I decided to take full advantage of being a full time student and stepped WAY over the line. I donated my hair to Locks of Love to celebrate my 8 year anniversary of my cancer removal surgery and being officially declared cancer-free. That just wasn't a big enough statement, though. Matt made my outlandish statement a reality. Bright orange hair at the ""donation site"" representing the kidney cancer I had and purple on the longer tresses representing I am a cancer survivor. Having only colored my hair once in a natural color, I had no idea of the challenge I presented to Matt. Matt was amazing. Knowing I had ""virgin"" hair, he protected my skin from the chemicals and checked with me often to verify I was okay. He was a true artist as he worked through the problems of how to create the division of colors without having them bleed together. The results are AMAZING! It turned out better than I had imagined. Everyone at Rage was friendly. I arrived early and the receptionist kept me company until Matt was ready. The two other stylists even chatted with me a little at Matt progressed with the coloring process. The salon itself was beautiful and welcoming. From the historic warmth of the brick interior and windows to the next building inches away to the calming serenity of the waterfall at the top of the stairs and aromatherapy candles throughout. You must go to the salon as words and photos will not do it justice. more

So I'll be honest... I used to have my hair cut at Great Clips. What can I say, I was a poor college student! But several years ago, after yet another bad haircut (at least it only cost $12, right?), I decided it was time for a change. I asked around for the best place in Athens to get a hair cut, and I was told by several of my girlfriends that I needed to check out Rage. I was a little bit nervous about it at first because it definitely costs more than Great Clips, but in the end it was totally worth it. I would never ever ever ever go back to Great Clips. I've been living in a different city now for the past 4 years, and I still only get my hair cut at Rage. Erin always does a great job. more

Heather has been cutting my hair for almost a year now. When I first started seeing her my hair had been completely damaged due to a bad highlighting job, but she recommended the mending line from B&B for me to use. Now my hair is so much healthier and happier :) I trust her completely with my hair, which is quite an accomplishment on her behalf! I had been using the same stylist (and was completely happy with him) for 14 years when I moved to Athens last summer. I asked a co-worker with a stylish haircut for a recommendation and she told me about Erin at Rage. I felt very at ease at my first appointment with Erin and felt like she really listened to my needs and wants for my hair. She even asked me about my ""hair goals"" which made me laugh at first, but it really makes sense. She has guided me through the growing out phase of an A-line layered bob for a year and has been great every step of the way giving me specific recommendations for styling with each appointment. The salon is pricier than what I was used to, but I feel it is totally worth it. I have not been disappointed and find the overall Rage experience a positive one. I'm a guy, I hate my hair. The only reason I don't bic my head is because my wife wants me to keep a head of hair. Finding a hair stylist that is able to put up with my craziness and not make my hair look like a butch-woman is EXTREMELY HARD. At least it was until I went to Rage Hair Studio. On my first visit I was greeted with extremely friendly staff, gave me a soda to drink while I waited. Although I only got in one sip before I was called to my hair cut. The stylist sat me down, asked me what I wanted and did her thing. I was very pleased with my first hair cut and have gone back for every hair cut since. Each experience has been just like the first. Not only do they know how to style hair, they know how to treat their customers. The latter is probably more important to me. Rage is located in downtown Athens, right across the street from one of my favorite burger joints, Five Guys Famous Burgers and Fries. As I said in the cons, the only problem is they have a huge flight of stairs to get up to their studio. But that's hardly a con... when i first moved to athens i tried two other hair salons and had a terrible experience at both. Then I came to Rage and feel in love. Ive had two stylists there and both have done an amazing job with my hair.They use Bumble and Bumble products that are great for my hair.I have fine hair and use BB Prep which is great for detangling and BB Gentle shampoo which smells really good! Go see Erin, you'll love her!! I always get what i ask for and Erin is great because she takes baby steps with you and wont just chop off all your hair then ask if that's what you wanted. I trust her completely and have never been let down! My hair has never been less than amazing after leaving there and i cant say enough about their hospitality!There are many places to go in Athens but none of them top Rage Hair Studio!! At the last minute I found out I would be meeting my daughter;s boss on my trip to Athens! I called around and no one was open on Saturday July 3rd! My daughter suggested Rage! I'm so glad she did because I got my appointment, a great cut, and a compliment on my haircut from my daughter's boss!!!! I got great service too! Way to fo Rage! After trying a plethora of salons ranging from expensive to student's practice price, Rage is my new haircut home. I was so impressed that Sharon, the owner and my stylist, not only cut my hair with an eye for perfection and customization, but she made fantastic, easy conversation the entire time. I felt completely comfortable on both a personal level and a professional one, as it was apparent that she really chose to cut my hair based on my specific hair type and desired style. It was really a hair revolution as I've never had any stylist pay such close attention to my very fine, finicky hair and personal style! I think it's rare to find someone who is skilled in both technicality and personable service, so I will absolutely be going back-- I've already booked my next appointment! I highly recommend that anyone looking for a stylist or salon in Athens go to Rage-- you won't regret it. I had tried to color my hair at home even though I know better and have been going to salons all my life. It went horribly wrong and I ended up with a two-tone head. One yellow color on the top like a beannie and the rest was a strawberry blondeish color. It was not good. Rage hooked me up with Heather Lee who did a great job on my hair. She made sure it was healthy enough to color and re-highlight. Her attention to detail and skills with color made my hair look awesome. You would never know I had almost ruined it just a day before. They were fantastic and to top it off instead of giving me a lecture about almost ruining my hair they were extreemly nice and helped me instead of treating me like a small child tampering with mommy's things. I will defintely go back to Rage!! My hair looks great and they are wonderful to be around.
