Racha needs service improvements 5/24/2011

I made a reservation under the name of KOCH on May 14th for Saturday, May 21. When I arrived, the reservation was not noted. I was a bit annoyed. Then my family arrived and we had to wait another 10 minutes to be seated. more

The best Thai food ever! 4/11/2011

Racha is the best Thai food ever! My husband and I try to go there at least once a week. We love their Garlic Delight with seafood or prawns and their pad thai. The portions are pretty good. Also try their duck with this special glaze, it's so yummy! Not only do we get exceptional food but service is out of this world. Wipa, the manager, always comes by our table to greet us during our every visit. All their servers are great, the ones I remember are Thanet, Tung-Tai, Ann and Ploy. They're all so friendly, so attentive, so nice. We always feel like VIPs when we dine there. Thank you so much!!! more

Not Great Thai Food 3/18/2009

I have gone to Racha Thai twice in the past month and have been extremely disappointed. Both times I ordered a noodle dish at 3 stars. What was good, it was full of fresh veggies, what was bad it came in without spice. For the price they are charging ($12 per plate) compaired to other local places I expected more. Pros: location, nice atmosphere Cons: Level of spice and price more

Great Beef Noodle Soup 10/27/2008

I really like their decor and location, few blocks away from the opera, ballet and theaters. I had the beef noodle soup, and it was the first decent thai noodle soup I've ever had in Seattle (for some reason, all the noodle soups are really bad in Seattle area Thai restaurants). The broth was dark, rich and herb-y flavorful. I wish it was duck instead of beef, but perhaps I'll ask them to substitute next time-will definitely go back for it. Pros: good noodle soup, decor, location Cons: n/a more

Racha = Raunchy 10/12/2008

If you enjoy blowing chunks out of all orifices simultaneously (I couldn't use words such as vamit, krap, barfe, azz or food poy-sen), eat here. Pros: weight loss Cons: praying to the porcelain gods more

Excellent THAi. 2/29/2008

I LOVE THIS PLACE! I went here for a late dinner with my boyfriend last Saturday. We got back from a wedding in Tacoma and was hungry. I was happy to see the staff were very friendly and conversational. I would say, try the tower of appetizers. The calamari was tender and crispy and so were the chicken satay with the peanut sauce. The crispy crab wontons were great, but I did not care for the egg rolls too much (they were still good though). Everyone should try the Thai iced tea here. I want one right now! My boyfriend was very impressed with the presentation of our crab fried rice dish. Very different from what we were use to. I guess because it had real fresh crab!!! Also, it is also great for families with children. Pros: Loved Everything! From the Food to the Service. THank you! Cons: none. more

Good Happy Hour 12/3/2007

I stopped in for Happy Hour last week and they had this new beer called Pandan Ale. I haven't seen it anywhere else, but it's really really good! more

great Thai food! 11/18/2007

In the past year, I've visited Racha several times with different people, including those who are very familiar with Thai food and those who'd never had it before, and everybody liked it. Sure, it's somewhat more expensive than other Thai joints in the neighborhood, but it's definitely worth it, especially on those special occasions. The service is prompt, the decor is appealing, and the food is great! I enjoyed everything I've tasted at Racha, from appetizers to soups to pad thai to curries. It does get crowded, so if you're looking for quiet and privacy on a Friday or Saturday night during the peak dinner hours, this is probably not the place to go. However, every time we stopped by, including Friday and Saturday nights, we've had no problem getting a table for four; in fact, we had several to choose from as their dining room is pretty large. Definitely the best Thai in Lower Queen Anne, and possibly one of the best in the city! Pros: fantastic food, good service Cons: can get crowded on Friday and Saturday nights more

Garlic Delight is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G 10/15/2007

I've been to tons of thai restaurants, but have never had a craving for a dish like I have for this one. The Garlic Delight at Racha is THE best thai dish I've ever had. It comes served on a hot plate and they pour it onto the sizzling plate at your table along with a side of pickled ginger and broccoli crowns. Out of all the thai places in Seattle, this is the one I always take my out-of-town guests to, and they always love it! The atmosphere is very nice and unique as well, great place to take a date to. Pros: Garlic Delight more

Big YUM! 1/29/2007

I've eaten here a few times in the past few months. The food is consistently very good, however when ordering for spiciness, order a higher number than you think you want. They don't run as hot as you may be expecting or hoping for. I highly recommend the red curry beef, golden cashew beef (incredible in a 4 star) and beef pud thai. If you're ordering drinks, stick to bottled beer. Last night I ordered a lemon drop, which in no way even slightly resembled one and tasted terrible. To make things worse, the glass contained about half the usual serving. That went back and I asked for a cosmopolitan. It was fairly tasty, again, not resembling a cosmo, and although the serving was a little more generous, was still not the typical size one would expect, yet they charged the same price. Pros: Nice atmosphere, excellent food, friendly service. Cons: Drinks small, overpriced and don't resemble the drink you think you're ordering. A touch overpriced compared to our suburban thai eateries. Average dish $12-15. more

Great food! 12/16/2006

Great food, OK costumer service. I have not acquired a taste for thai food, and after going to racha on queen anne, i will be giving it another chance. They need to work on their costumer service skills a group of us waited for fifteen minutes while the restaurant was half empty. Pros: food Cons: servers more

A puzzling disappointment 5/15/2006

The waiter brought half of our dinner order, then make the other half of our party wait five minutes for their meals to arrive. Serving all members of a dinner party at once is Restaurant 101. Why Racha doesn't get it escapes me. Cons: awful music, bad service, expensive more

Overpriced mediocrity 5/13/2006

Best Thai We Ever Had 8/29/2005

I guess this is in the Queen Anne area and they are known for their thread noodles. They we incredible by the way. So was everything else. The kitchen is in the center of the dinning area and encased in glass. It was cool. The atmosphere was kind of upper scale and the cocktails were varied and really packed a punch. I would definitely go back. The staff was very efficient but not pushy at all. Pros: Beautiful decor, Romantic Cons: Street parking more

Bland Thai Food - Could it be? 7/7/2005

This was the blandest Thai food that I've ever had the displeasure of tasting. How, I wonder? How, can you cook bland Thai? My Weight Watcher prepackaged Thai Noodles beat this place hands down!! Albeit, the service was wonderful. The food was really, really bland. There is a Thai Resturant, on that same street closer to KFC, that is half the price and better food. If you insist on going, bring your own seasoning salt and pepper; you're gonna need it! Pros: Location, Service, Dessert Cons: Parking, Food, Food - double ugh more

Nothing Special 3/16/2005

I had lunch here and found the food to be bland and overcooked. Prices are high for what you get and parking is difficult. Not worth waiting on a busy day. Overall, I would not go here for a great Thai experience. Cons: Parking, Bland food, Overcooked more
