I couldn't imagine this having gone any better, and I actually ended up tipping the guys 10% EACH (there were four of them).
Because I was working with about a five day turnaround, Provident couldn't drop off my boxes until 8am the morning of the move, and then they'd be back around 2:30pm to move the stuff I'd packed. Well, as it turns out, they had some slight scheduling changes that day, and I got a call around 9:45am asking if they could come early.
""How early?"" I asked. ""I just got the boxes an hour and a half ago.""
""We'll be there in 45 minutes,"" he said.
""I won't be ready then, sorry.""
""No problem, we'll help you pack.""
Sure enough, four guys showed up 45 minutes later, packed everything I owned into the boxes in about 20 minutes (it would have taken me hours), took apart all my furniture (bed, couch, bookshelves, etc) and got me moved in in less than two hours (and yes, they insisted on reassembling the furniture despite my assurances that I could do it). They were literally gone from my new apartment at 12:30pm. The $425 I was quoted included the moving, the boxes, and because of the changes, the packing. To top it all off, they were really polite and friendly.
