The hot water handle for my bathtub popped off, so the water was leaking. I found Power Pro Plumbing's listing in the phone book. I called them because I needed their senior citizen discount. I called six or seven plumbers that day, but Power Pro responded immediately and said they would send someone out right away. The young man they sent out was very nice. He was kind and knew how to talk with a senior. But he was almost to the corner when I had to remind him about the discount. He came back, so his customer service was very good in that way.
But about 45 days later, I went to turn on the hot water and the handle fell off again. The leak started again. When I called Power Pro, the representatives told me the warranty had expired by about 10 days. So I had to call another plumber who was more knowledgeable to come and fix the problem permanently. I ended up having to pay twice for one repair. I was really, very upset because Power Pro did not honor their license.
The day the handle fell off, I tried to speak with a supervisor at Power Pro. I wanted to tell them they didn't train the young man completely. He wasn't properly trained to do the repair, and I wanted to know what kind of training he received. It is no reflection on him if he wasn't trained properly. I didn't want it to go down in his personnel file that he didn't do a good job. I wanted to tell a manager, so he could be trained better. He was a sweet guy. I wanted to help him for his next jobs so he wouldn't keep messing up everywhere he went.
I wasn't treated with respect by the representatives when I called. They did not respect my request to speak with a manager. They said the manager would call me, but no one ever did. I went online and researched the company and saw they have branches all over the place, so they're probably handled by a corporation. I don't even know what branch the young man was from.
If you are thinking of using Power Pro, I would say you should give them a second chance. But I'm not going to. I didn't get the kind of service I got from the second plumber I called, who had the knowledge of 20 years experience. He looked at the handle right away, and he told me what had to be done. He didn't overcharge me.
Someone in a supervisory capacity should have called me from Power Pro to address my concerns, but no one ever did. That is not appropriate for a business. Business is not just about taking someone's money. It's about rendering equal service for service paid. In this case, I paid $180 for 45 days of service.
