I honestly thought pottery was for digging up and putting on a shelf or having your kids make to put on a shelf. These shelves don't get looked at often. This store does though....

Very classy, but pricey! 7/23/2006

Pottery Barn is the chain store for the "Friends" set of young urban professionals. Or so I'm told. To me it is just a very pricey shop that tries to feel like a boutique but doesn't. Pottery Barn sells lamps, decorative accessories, pottery, dinnerware, curtains, and furniture. Their store feels very upmarket. The focal point of it is the big metal "loft" staircase that sits right in the middle of the store. (That's right, there are two floors of this stuff, with a big skylight to top it all off.) I think that the merchandise here is nice and of high quality, but would I buy too much of it? No. They do run sale events, and sometimes, at the final markdowns, things are priced comparably to Target's regular prices. However, the clerks aren't friendly here and I feel that the whole place is very artificial. more

I honestly thought pottery was for digging up and putting on a shelf or having your kids make to put on a shelf. These shelves don't get looked at often. This store does though. It's pretty popular and has a lot of cool stuff. I think it's way overpriced since its...well..pottery...but maybe you're paying for the fact that its like endangered? If i cared about how things looked away from my computer screen I'd buy something from here and put it on a shelf! more

A barn made out of pottery 2/28/2006

No! It's a barn FULL of pottery! This place has plates and pots and little decorative furnishings that the women in my life seem to love, especially my mom. Serving trays, bowls, vases, whatever - this place has it. It's fairly pricy, but that's ok because it means I'll be getting a home cooked, awesome meal served on/in whatever I buy. I wish I didn't have to bribe people for food but that's how the world works. more
