Oh I love the mild fried chicken at this place. They were hot and juicy on the inside, and crispy on the outside. The biscuits are just heavenly, with a spread of butter and honey. This place is always packed but the service is fast and I can get in and out with no problems. I bought a 24 pc. party pack for the Superbowl sunday and all my friends loved the food. We will definitely be back very soon. Pros: Great food, cheap prices Cons: parking more

Oh my aching stomach..... 11/16/2006

This place gave me the runnnns. Stay away from the red beans and rice. Although I have been in since that horrible incident and they always seem to slip in a free biscuit or chicken strip. Pros: Free biscuit Cons: Red beans & Rice more

Their fried chicken tasted and smelled of spoiled oil, was dry, overcooked and not worth eating. The rice & beans are on par with other Popeye chains, so at least there's some consistency there. If you must have fast-food fried chicken, go to Kentucky Fried Chicken which tastes fresher than at this Popeye chain. Even the fried chicken when freshly made at the Safeway deli can be better than this Popeye's, it's gone downhill over the years. Definitely not worth plugging up your arteries for. Pros: rice and beans side-dish is consistent with other Popeye chains Cons: chicken cooked in old, spoiled oil. more
