If anyone doubts that just take a look at the parking lot and see which end is more crowded. Pros: Nice decor. Cons: Waitresess can be on the lazy side. more

Eating at Polonia's is like going to your Polish mother's for dinner. 10/5/2008

We discovered Polonia on Labor Day and have been regular customers ever since., It is better then eating at a restaurant - it feels like Mom or Grandma cooked a wonderful meal for you. The dill pickles on the table are my favorite! The fresh polish sausage and pork chops are delicious. We have never had a meal that was less then excellent. We will continue to go to Polonia and rave about the food. The waitresses are fine and all speak English. This is not a pick up joint - they are professional, polite waitressses. more

Charming Polish restaurant with great food 7/23/2008

We ate dinner at the Polonia about a month ago and the food was really delicious, including their famous dill pickle soup. The prices were a bargain for the generous portions and the service was very pleasant. (Note: cash only). Pros: Everything Cons: Nothing more

Polonia 5/2/2008

I love the Polonia. My husband and I stumbled upon it last summer at the Polish festival. We have returned many times and have brought friends and family. Every one who came with us so far hasloved it. This June we are having our 10 year anniversary there and can not wait to share it with the rest of our friends. We simply love their food. more

Not what I hoped it would be. Actually.... really bad. 2/18/2008

I always wondered what Polonia was like because I live in Hamtramck and drive by the place quite often. Then, while trying to Google the phone number, I came across all of these reviews. I thought that most of the negative ones must have been bogus because most of them seem to mention something about the girls who work there being attractive or not... How stupid is that? I envisioned some angry guy whose brutish advances on the Polish girls working there had been spurned, logging on to Citysearch attempting to enact his revenge or something, haha.. Anyways, based upon what some of the other reviews had said, I was looking forward to a great meal. But I'm sorry to say that it's not how I would describe my dinner there at all. Pros: very nice waitresses and staff Cons: pretty much everything else more

Girls UGLY! 1/2/2008

My good friend said to go here for the girls. I don't know why, I've seen better looking girls on that long drive down Caniff who wear face masks. Most had terrible accents, if your're going here for the girls-be prepared to not see anything special. Pros: Food wasnt bad Cons: Girls not good looking more

I was so sick after eating here, I will never return. I was told the waitress are good looking, but they're not! They are mean, ignorant, nasty, careless, girls who believe they look good or something! They look like call girls you wouldn't want to call, with gawdy fake gold jewelry. I think they may be gypsys. I would recommend Tower Burger over this germ factory. more

Don't waste your time in this restaurant. There is no line,ever because it's no good. Bland food, vegetables are soggy squash (is this Italian?). The price is way too expensive (About twice that of Polish Cafe) We went here after the place next door was too crowded. Being told ""It's all the same"" by a friend we tried it and found out the hard way. From now on we will wait to be seating at the other restaurant. Cons: expensive more

I don't understant why someone whould make up all of these bad reviews about Polonia. I understand that different people have different food preferences, but saying that our food is served cold, etc. is just crossing the line. Also I connot believe that someone said that we don't speak English....as a matter of fact every single waitress at Polonia is a college student (either part time or full time) and that should ""speak"" for itself. this was our second time going here 9/10/2007

this was our second time going here and i think the food just keeps getting better. we've been to several other polish restaurants in this area and nothing has come close to the food here. the soups were superb and only $2 a bowl, and the entire dinner, with beers, cost less than $25 for two people. the service was great and attentive, without rushing us. i think the waitstaff recognize returning customers and really treat them well with smiles. i can't say enough good things about this place. I can't wait to go back and try more dishes. Pros: great food, fast service more
