Ploy Thai Cuisine

This is by far the worst customer service oriented restaurant!!! We were served with the check 2 minutes after we received our entries. The waitress came back again in minutes and requested credit card payment while we were still eating!!! I had to stop eating to pull out my wallet and hand my credit card over. A second waitress came back 10 minutes later and requested the signature on the credit slip while we were still eating!!! For the last two decades we have been in dozens of restaurants all over Houston. This by far is the worst customer oriented restaurant!!! We will never go back again, ever! more

We used to live in Thailand.......go to this restaurant if you want authentic Thai food. The bad reviews here make NO sense!!! (Somebody just got po'd about something) They do not even have an ""appetizer bar""....just a buffet at lunch which is fabulous! LOVE this place. more

My son and I have been to Ploy Thai in Shenandoah many times. During a recent visit we were there at 9:13 PM before the posted closing time of 9:30 PM. As soon a we entered, a waitress came and told us that they were closed. We wanted to know why the restaurant closed before the posted tclosing time. We suggested that if they wish to close by 9 PM, then the posted closing time should be changed. She shrugged her shoulders and pointed to the manager/owner of the place who was coming in behind us. We made the same point to him which he totally ignored. We tried to tell him that we were regular customers, but he couldn't care less. If you want to be treated like dirt and suffer through lousy customer service for mediocre thai food, by all means go to this place. Otherwise, stay away. more

The flavor is great but the quality of meat leaves a little to be desired. The service is quick, the waitress was friendly and the price doesn't put a beating on your wallet. The parking lot gets a little crowded at dinner time as the empty stomachs arrive. The ambiance is relaxing and you never feel rushed to turn the table over. All in all, I would go back. more

I went to Ploy and I was shocked at how they treated my cousin and I. First of all there were 4 of us and my cousins child which is 2years old. The waitress brought out our bill and there was an extra charge of $9 dollars on each of our bills, that they add to the bill when there is a party of 5 or more. They should be lucky they even get customers. So my cousins goes to talk to her about our bill and she starts laughing as if it was a mistake and then she gets all defensive when my cousin wants to see the bill to make sure it went on the card. She starts arguing with my cousin that we came late and the she told us that they were closing, I was like what are you talking about because when I got there at 9:00 p.m. I asked how long are they going to stay open she said till 10:00 which gave us plenty of time to eat and go. Well the place was empty and you would think they would have our food out and ready to go but it took forever and we were done with dinner at about 10:20. Then to top it all off she told as to take our food and get out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Who in their right mind would talk like that to a customer??????? I've worked in customer service before and I would never tell a customer to get out of the store. Pros: Good food Cons: Horrible manager and servers!!!! Check your bill more

My husband and I were arguing about where to go eat dinner and suddendly I remembered there was a Thai place down from Benihana. He had never tried Thai and was none too happy to give in to my suggestion. We began with one of my favorites, which is hard to find; cheese rolls. They were spicy and delicious. We then ordered fried rice *without tomatoes* and the garlic chicken. Both were excellent. The fried rice had a different flavor, but in an incredible way. My husband came out wowed and wanting more. The only downside is that they are rather expensive, but its one of those places where its worth it. I was utterly disappointed that my Paddy Thai on Westheimer had gone out of business. The server informed us upon ordering that the appetizer bar came free with the entree. I explained that my guest and I would be splitting a dinner entree (for lunch), and that I did not want the appetizer bar. The server said that that was fine, that my guest could partake of the bar since the entree came with one free appetizer bar. We were given a bill as such, but when the server returned with our card, he had a new bill. He explained that he had informed us incorrectly and that the manager said we would have to be charged an additional $9 for the appetizer bar for my guest since we split the entree. I just paid $9 for a spring roll and peanut sauce. Had we been informed correctly we would have ordered differently, my guest would have passed on the bar, or we could have gotten two entrees and it would have actually been cheaper. I don't mind spending money, but I shouldn't have been penalized for receiving incorrect information given by the server. What a horrible way to treat a first time customer. Never again!!!
