I travel around LA for my job and I have been to all of the Pitfire locations, and I have always been impressed. The first time I went back in the day was because their pumpkin pizza was served at a nearby art gallery. I went in to discover Auntie Em's cupcakes and delicious pizzas. Pros: Chicken salad, all pizzas and even the ice cream more

Disappointing! 2/22/2010

Pitfire Pizza on Washington Blvd was disappointing at best and gross at worse! After the distracted cashier got my order wrong, then fixed it without apology, the pizzas finally arrived ice cold and completely unseasoned. We asked 3 people before we could get salt. The open kitchen allowed us to observe that one cook kept wiping his hand on his nose then handling food! We were billed $2 each for our little bottles of arrowhead water. This place must be all about the hype, because it's definitely not about the food! Cons: unseasoned, cold food, poor hygiene in open kitchen more

Pizza that's not the pits 2/9/2010

The fourth location of Pitfire Pizza in Culver City is just as committed to providing its patrons with the freshest ingredients and impeccably-topped pizzas as its sister restaurants in North Hollywood, Downtown LA and Westwood. Loyalists swear by the burrata pie with sweet caramelized onions, arugula, hazelnuts, and pesto, but pizza purists will be equally pleased by the (nitrate-free) pepperoni pie. The typically drab slice is transformed from ordinary to upscale with the addition of fresh mozzarella and inch-long pieces of fresh basil. More health-conscious diners can't go wrong with the roasted vegetable platter that showcases seasonal selections from the Santa Monica Farmer's Market. They can go wrong, however, if they opt to pass up dessert. The in-house baked chocolate chip cookies are better than most versions at the bakeries around town. Or, at the very least, far better than they need to be for a pizzeria with nitrate-free pepperoni and farmer's fresh shiitake mushrooms. Pros: Upscale wood-fire pizzas, reasonable prices more
