Attention: budget minded steak lovers. 1/15/2006

This place is for you, huge slab of t-bone at a very reasonable price (under $20 dinner). Granted, can't compare their steak (sub prime meat) with the premium steak houses', but for the prices you would pay, nobody should complain. Order steak and not much else. My wife's pork chops (good size tho) were way overcooked (very dry), so stick with steak and you should be fine. Pros: huge t-bone, very reasonable price Cons: no reservation, long waiting line more

Definitely worth the trip... 12/8/2005

Loved it! Service was excellent! The order for one person in our party was delayed so the waitress said she would bring her something to nibble on in the meantime - and brought her a baked potato and and half rack of ribs! My ""Cowgirl"" (Porterhouse) steak was tender and delicious. The sides are no big deal - but the steak is definitely worth the trip. Pros: Porterhouse Steaks, Customer Service, Fun Cons: Sides more

Go home satisfied 9/12/2005

I have been going to Pinnacle Peaks in San Dimas since 1964. It is one of the only restaurants from which I come out satisfied. I always think I won't be able to eat it that big of a steak, but end up eating every last bite because it is so good. The price, however, has gone up tremendously in the last few years. I do think that if they are going to charge these prices, they should have a better selection of side dishes. Pros: steaks Cons: side dishes more

STEAKS MMMM 6/6/2005

Ok so the sides are not to die for,but the steaks are delish. The steak portions are generous portionsand the price is reasonable. Pros: Steaks Cons: Side Dishes more

DON'T BOTHER 8/13/2004

We had seen on Food Network what a great place this is. So when I moved to CA we tried it. What a HUGE disappointment. The steak was ok, but the sides were ridiculous. The salad was wilted and only had tomatoes and generic dressing, the sides weren't anything I would even want, and the service was bad. Our waitress was rude and they don't accept Discover Card. I don't know if anyone has heard of Lone Star, but if you have one near you, try that instead. Better food, better prices, better atmosphere. more

EXCELLENT !!! 6/16/2004

I have eaten at all four of the Pinnacle Peak restaurants in CA (Colton, San Dimas, Garden Grove, and Santee), as well as two in AZ. The CA restaurants and AZ restaurants are different owners but same style and quality. I have found slight differences in the atmosphere, but the food, service, bar, and price brought me and anyone else I could bring back again and again. They only serve dinner, open at 5pm, and you can watch them cook the food over open flame grills with real mesquite coals. Anyone that doesn't like the food either doesn't like meat, or wouldn't like a great steak if it bit them. It is definitely worth the drive. (We try to get there before 6:30 pm). Reservations are not accepted. Pros: Great food/atmosphere, Lots of food, Great service Cons: , Could be bigger, Could be closer more

cheap price cheap quality 3/11/2004

We dined there couple of years ago. I can't believe this place made it among top 10 steak houses in LA. If size of the serving is the single most important factor to you, then this place is for you. They have huge size steaks for very cheap price, but that's all there is. Quality of food is way below average. My wife ordered her steak well done and I ordered mine medium rare. We couldn't even tell which one was which since both were same as rubbery. Pros: home-like environment, friendly waitress Cons: , dirty table/silverwar more

BEST STEAK EVER 3/7/2004

I've sampled numeous steakhouses all over the world during my many years of travel and the finest steak and service that I have ever encountered was from Pinnacle Peak. I definitely recommend it to anyone who loves a good steak. Be sure to tell your friends to wear a neck tie when dinning there, it makes the event more memorable. Pros: Food quality/quantity, Atmosphere, Great service Cons: , I moved away more

A Great Steakhouse 3/7/2004

Definitely at the top of all the steakhouses on my list. The food has always been excellant, as is the service. So what, you might have to wait a little while for a seat. Go early if that's an issue. It's worth the wait. Pros: Service, Food, Atmosphere more

Aged meat, too aged 4 us 3/7/2004

The steaks are aged way to long for me and my Wife's taste. Sorry, as we wish we could eat there, we have tried 3 times, but their aged meat we can not eat. Just our personal taste. Every thing else is great about the place. more

I lost my tie at the Peak 3/7/2004

Even though I did it intentionally, I lost my tie at this restaurant. I knew going in in that it was casual wear but I just wanted to indulge my curiosity and wore one anyway. The food is fantastic and the service exceptionally friendly. Wait time was a little bit long, but isn't it worth it for a good steak? The price is the most attractive detail for this restaurant, a great steak for an affordable price! Pros: inexpensive Cons: , unpaved parking more

Don't wear a tie. 2/13/2004

For the price this is a real good steak house. It's not romantic, it's not fancy, the steaks aren't prime but the meals are good. Pros: Flavor, Price Cons: , Long waits at times more

Oh lord 1/18/2004

This truly is one of the best kept secrets in SGV. For $13.95, you get one juicy peppercorn steak, beans, bread and salad. I don't think you can beat that. I love that this place is such a dive. Have a drink with the bartender... some dude w/ a pony tail and mustache....he's chill. I've been here 4 times and will continue to be a patron. Wear a tie. Pros: Steak, $13.95, Dive Cons: No snobs please more

Simply The Best! 9/24/2003

This place has the best steaks in the SGV - and if you do decide to wear a tie, make sure it's one you don't like. It'll get cut off and hung during a ""tie died"" ceremony! Very fun! Bring the whole family - the best cook is Greg but he's only there on Thursday nights! Pros: Great prices, Fun atmosphere, Great food Cons: Parking, Crowds, No reservations more

No ties allowed. 8/28/2003

The salad is warm, but the meat is cooked to temperature. Seating is at communal type tables. You'll be given one chance to remove your tie, then it's cut off and stapled to the ceiling. It's good, but hardly qualified to rank as one of the best. Pros: Moderately priced, service is good Cons: Can be crowded more

A little slice of beef heaven in SGV 8/11/2002

Take your friends, take yourself, and take your appetite. It's simple food, nothing fancy, but it's good. Yum, yum! Pros: no reservations Cons: no reservations more

Don't get caught all ""tied up"". 5/28/2002

This is a great steakhouse for the whole family. The food is great and reasonably priced. You definitely want to be very picky on the clothing you wear. No ties allowed. If you get caught with a tie on it will be cut off and hung on the wall. This is a very kid friendly restaurant. Be sure to bring your appetite and the whole family. Pros: Huge portions Cons: Long wait more
