Pike Place Fish Market Inc

I love this place!! I can stand there for awhile and just watch the antics. First time I was there, a HUGE monk fish was on ice and facing the customers with its mouth open. Of course, customers started to crowd around, whispering amongst themselves. An employee was behind the counter, waited for the most opportune time, and pulled back on the fish causing it to move. "AAAHHH!!!" screamed the women. That was my first experience here. Pure entertainment at its finest. I would buy fish here only to support the business since it is an icon here. Plus, the fish is so fresh. Perfect rating for entertainment value and fresh fish. more

The pike place market is one of Seattle’s landmarks that visitors should make a special trip. During the summer months, it has many produce, flower and crafts to choose from. The market is extremely busy and can well spend an entire day shopping. A must to see is the flying fish guys located in the center area of the market. more

One of the oldest, if not THE OLDEST, continuously operating public markets in the country, Pike Place is a jumble of fish, produce and flower stalls not to mention craft shops within walking distance to the waterfront. People love to see the fishmongers "throwing" the fish from man to man and the crowd is never disappointed when this show is put on. There are also restaurants if you feel like hanging around for a little while. Pike Place reminds me somewhat of Reading Terminal in Philadelphia, although the setting is quite different! One thing that Pike Place does have is (Rachel?) the life-size brass pig and she alone is worth the treck down to Pike Place. Still, Pike Place is a great sight and you shouldn't miss it. I can't believe I didn't get a postcard of Pike Place Market. If any one has an extra and would like to send me one, I'd greatly appreciate it!! more
