Excellent Healthy restaurant in my neighbourhood 9/10/2008

I live in West Hollywood and I have work in the 9000 building on sunset. So I've been eating at PI from the time they opened. They are one of my favorite lunch and dinner spots. They have amazing healthy Lebanese food, plus their New York style pizza is irresistible. Pros: Great Service, Cheap Prices and excellent quality Cons: i can't have enough of it more

Used to love it - but it's gone downhill fast 8/12/2008

When PI first opened a few months ago we were all excited about a new lunch place popping up just across the street - and the first few times we went it rocked.....lately though there is much lacking and the food has gone down hill fast. Pros: Good people watching, good pricing, nice interior, comfy setting Cons: Beef items are over tenderized and dry, service is lacking more

LEBANESE LOVE! 7/23/2008

After trying PI for the first time recently, My wife and i have worked it into our weekly restaurant rotation. This restaurant is a great place to come for an afterwork dinner, a date..or simply anytime. The food is freshly prepared, tastes great, served in a warm environment, the food is served fast..great service!!!--and the owner is sooo nice. I LOVE this restaurant!!!!!! Pros: fresh food, excellent service more

Good pizza and mediterranean food! more

Nothing special 6/27/2008

I went there twice for lunch and the menu hardly changes. I wonder how my coworkers can eat the same dishes every day, as the eatery is located across the street where I work. The veggie sandwiches were too greesy and the Chef Salad was too oily. The food is resonable priced though. I am not impressed by this restaurant at all. Pros: Price more

Lunch Specials! 6/23/2008

really inexpensive and delicious lunch specials. The food was authentic and delicious, and the lunch specials are a great deal! The place was packed when I went, and it was a bit understaffed so there was a little wait. But I would definitely go back. Pros: authentic food, great prices, relaxing ambience Cons: understaffed, bit of a wait for food more

Good Mediterrranean, really bad service. 3/21/2008

Pi seems to be a good back up option when you've completely exhausted all other possibilities. The food is above average for Mediterranean. However the service is horrible. Since opening they've had a revolving door of bad waitresses, each new one is actually worse than the previous. Expect to have tasty kabobs at whatever speed they feel like serving you. Far better food than Hollywood Pita. Pros: Cheap, Above average food Cons: inattentive servers, obnoxiously loud music. more

Best mediterranean food around! Slow service... 3/5/2008

Pi on Sunset has THE BEST mediterranean food in LA, but they lack a full service staff. At least for lunch and dinner on weeknights. There's been times we've waited over 30 minutes for the lunch special. But it is totally worth it because there food is THAT GOOD. Pros: Amazing food. Great prices. Cons: Slow service. more

Delicious Mediterranean food 3/3/2008

Great ambiance and delicious food. The best meat and spinach pies in California. Try it anytime, anyday! Pros: Ambience, food, music. Cons: None more

BEST HOOKAH IN TOWN!! 2/28/2008

Hands down, best hookah in town. Try the grape flavored hookah, that's my favorite. Consistently delicious. Make sure you try Almaza, the lebanese beer, you can't find it anywhere and it's the best. The food it's pretty good too. Authentic Falafel and Lebanese Food. more

Editorial review from GrubHub 2/24/2008

The delivery was late and they forgot my hummus, even though I paid for it. The food was really mediocre at best to begin with. The Greek Salad had green olives instead of kalamata, which I found to be a poor choice. The "baked wedges" are just french fries, which felt deceptive to me. To top it all off, I bit into a spinach pie and got a big ol' hair in it and lost my appetite. more

THE BEST IN LOS ANGELES!!! 2/23/2008

This was an amazing spot!!! The food is excellent and at a more than reasonable price. I am a huge mediterranean cuisine fan, and this place was the best I've had yet in Los Angeles. The service was quick and friendly and the place itself is a nice and inviting great for dates without emptying your pockets, or a great place to chill with friends and partake of their alluring Hookah Bar. TWO THUMBS UP!!! Pros: Excellent Food, Great Price, Lounge or Date Spot!!! more

Friendly and Delicious! 2/20/2008

As someone who only spends her social life in Middle Eastern places, I can honestly say Pi on Sunset is one of the best Arabic places in L.A. I enjoyed the atmosphere, food, hookah and service, and have become a repeat customer. It is one of those delightfully rare spots and combines a friendly, intimate atmosphere with exotic and delicious entrees. The servers are delightful and attentive, and the owners work nightly. I always feel very cared for. The food platters are overwhelming both in portion size and taste--and yet, moderately priced. My personal favorite is the chicken shawarma wrap (with extra garlic paste!), although whatever you get is sure to please. The ambiance is quiet and romantic in the downstairs dining room. There is a TV, but unlike many other restaurants it is kept at a low volume or is silent, and is never distracting. Conversation is actually possible at this wonderful restaurant, unlike many of its cousins in Westwood. :) The upstairs lounge provides both relaxing and party vibes, enveloped in popular Arabic dance music. It is the ideal place for a private party or group hang-out--there is plenty of seating and an open floor for dancing, also unlike many other hookah bars in L.A. The hookah is to die for--there is a variety of delicious, PREMIUM flavored tobaccos, and unlike many other hookah joints in L.A., Pi on Sunset actually keeps their hoses clean and flavors fresh. I suggest the watermelon. In spite of the smoke, Pi is a BREATH OF FRESH AIR! Five stars because it is incomparably fantastic. A small warning to those looking for a crazy night out: it is an ideal location in the middle of West Hollywood, but the crowd is usually sparse. Hence this review! I encourage everyone, from Middle Easterners to hookah enthusiasts to tourists to locals to investigate this hidden treasure on the Sunset Strip. You won't be sorry and you'll leave full--and fully satisfied! Bring a crowd of friends and the evening is sure to please. Pros: Ambience, Food, Service, Price Cons: Parking more

Great food, great hookah 2/19/2008

The food is absolutely delicious. They recently expanded their menu, really great choices. Their hookah is also delicious. I recommend it highly! more

As authentic as you get can - better than Lebanese food IN LEBANON. 1/30/2008

Saying that Pi on Sunset's cuisine is the best mediterranean in town would be AN UNDERSTATEMENT. The dishes I've had here rival those in LEBANON. Besides hitting the nail on the head with their recipes, the place is cozy, perfect for an intimate night out with friends, and conducive to real, genuine conversation. Pi on Sunset is a magnet for beautiful people, and the one thing I disliked - the tacky paint job downstairs - seems to have no affect on their keeping this place happening. more

Great food 12/8/2007

I love the food at Pi and the waiters are really friendl and a perfect service. The service wasn't always good but right now, perfect! Pros: thumbs high high up iam hooked more

Excellent Mediterranean cuisine, Great place to hang out 11/3/2007

Great food. Good location. Cozy ambiance. Very friendly owners and servers. A place that caters to the yuppies crowd. Draws a very good mix of people. Casual atmosphere but maintains a certain class. Excellent for dining with friends or with a date. Dining there is fun because it is an unhurried social experience. Excellent lebanese wine. Good selection of Hookah. Second floor is perfect space to have a birthday celebration or any kind of party. Owners are very accommodating and flexible to client requests. Definitely a place that gets repeat customers. more

Great Hookah, even better food. 10/22/2007

The food is excellent and filling. Hookah is the best in So Cal. the Shawarma Pizza is a must. Good for couples or big groups. more

Finally a GOOD Middle Eastern lounge! 9/15/2007

I've been complaining about the lack of decent Middle Eastern eateries/lounges in LA, and when I found this place I was so glad that someone finally opened an Middle Eastern joint with great food, good hookah, and fantastic atmosphere. The location is fantastic, and the prices are amazing considering the location. The watermelon hookah is top notch, super yummy and super smooth. For those who aren't big on the hookah, an indoor seating is perfect; far from the smoke and in a cozy, warm atmosphere where good Mediterranean food is served. I highly recommend the falafel wrap. This place is so perfect for anytime of day, it morphs itself from a cafe to a lounge to suit the time of day. Definite two thumbs up!! Pros: Food. Atmosphere. Service. Location. Cons: parking more

amazing food, fantastic hookah, and great prices!!! 8/12/2007
