This place is FANTASTIC! I had never boarded my 10 year old Shitzu before and was frantic over doing so for 5 days. I found Philadelphia Pet Hotels and after visiting knew this was a great place to put my little guy. They were extremely helpful, nice and understanding of my nerves. The morning I dropped him off, Jared overheard me speaking with the front desk staff and came out to introduce himself and give me his card so I could e-mail/call any time to put my mind at ease. I wound up e-mailing Jared the next day (Thanksgiving) to check in and see how my dog was doing. I received an e-mail back almost immediately and it completely put me at ease. Jared and his staff are extremely knowledgeable and clearly care about the animals and love what they do. My dog came back just as happy as when I dropped him off which spoke volumes as to the treatment he received. I could not be more thrilled with Philadelphia Pet Hotels and will recommend them 1000 times over! more

We had a wonderful experience with the Philadelphia Pet Hotel and Villas. Our dog received excellent care as a Concierge Guest and we would certainly entrust Jared and his wonderful team with our dog in the future. We highly recommend! more

Terrible expierience from this place here's my story. I have a 2 yr old pitbull mix and had to board her for the first time ever. My girlfriend lives nearby the pet hotel and told me about it and it looked nice enough. I checked on her daily with phone calls and staff told me she was doing great and playing everyday. I picked her up a week later and noticed a huge rash on her underbelly and chin, the gentleman said she was perfectly fine and it was from stress. 2 days went by and it still wasn't going away so I took her to the vet. He said it was chemical burns probably from the stuff they use to clean the kennels out. When I called them to complain they told me they would give her special treatment and discount her next stay..noooo thanks. more

Consistently excellent pet care over time 4/30/2012

We have boarded our 2 dogs many times since this facility became available under the present management. We have always been delighted with the attention they received from the staff. They have been boarded here for as long as 10 days at a time. The facility is very clean and well organized; the dogs seem happy to be there. Jared, the manager, is painstaking, detail oriented, and kind. We've always been able to leave them there knowing that they were happy and in competent, caring hands. I would highly recommend this facility for boarding, daycare, or grooming services. more

Great Place to Board Your Pet 9/16/2011

Philly Pet Hotel was a great place to board my dog for one week during summer vacation. The staff was very efficient and caring for both me and my pet. Jared, especially, took time to personally care for every aspect of my dogs's needs. more

Dog's first stay 7/13/2011

This was our first time boarding our 1 1/2 year old Pit Mix, Laylah, and we were a little nervous. I called a few days before we left to book and I felt comfortable with the idea as soon as I talked on the phone to a staff member. There was no ""tone"" in his voice when I told him she was a Pit Mix. I have gotten this other places. We booked her for a 3 night stay, a nail trim and a play session. They let me know that they would try her in a group play- but if that didn't work out she would get a private play. I loved that they were willing to give it a shot! Laylah was a little excited when we got there, but she went happily with a staff member- and that was that. I would have liked to see what the ""rooms"" were like- but I bet they would be willing to bring me back if I asked. The Pet Hotel will provide food but I brought ours from home and some treats, her blanket and toys. My husband picked her up- so I don't know if she had group or individual play- but she seemed happy. It seems that her blanket was washed and folded nicely and they gave us back her toys and the remaining treats. She smelled good too! The only thing I wasn't totally sold on was that her from nails didn't look like they were clipped. The back ones definitely were though so I wonder if Laylah gave them a problem with the front ones. I tried to book her for the 4th of July weekend (calling a few days before like last time). That was sure a mistake! They were all booked. I learned my lesson to call much MUCH earlier for a Holiday weekend. We have her booked again this weekend. The 3 times I have called- I have had to leave a message but someone has ALWAYS called me back by the end of the business day. It is great knowing that we can take a weekend to ourselves and know that Laylah is having a good time and will be happy when we get home. Thank you to Jared and all of the staff. They obviously love what they do and they are great at it! more

First time my doggy has ever stayed away from home 7/11/2011

This is the first time I have ever used a pet hotel as I have always had a pet sitter. This time I did not have a sitter for my 14 year old dog and I was afraid that he would not adjust well. However, I could not have been more happier. The staff was very helpful and appear to really love what they do. The registration process was simple even on short notice. He stayed for two nights and was groomed as well. The prices were reasonable and although I had to leave a voicemail the first time i called someone called me back to let me know my dog was doing well more

Your pet's home away from home 6/21/2011

If you are looking to kennel your pet while on vacation or for daycare or grooming, look no further. The Philadelphia Pet Hotel & Villas is the place to go. The facilities are clean. The personnel are knowledgeable, friendly and professional. Their services are outstanding. I recently had my dog groomed. My dog looks beautiful and he is so happy and proud of his cut and coat. I cannot rave about this business enough. more

Inexperience 6/14/2011

I thought the place looked great , however I felt the staff were very inexperienced in caring for dogs. Why?Well , I informed the staff at this place that my dogs were not very social , and that one of the three was large and could be agressive to people he doesn't know .I was told by one female staff person that this would not be a problem .I had at least three conversations with this person who assured me that this would not be a problem .So, we booked our trip .On the day that the dogs were to stay we brought them in .2 of the dogs were fine ,one of them was afraid and barked at the staff when ever they approached .They refused to board him .So we of course were unable to find another place on such short notice , so my husband decided he would stay home and care for the dogs .He unfortunately missed out on a vacation with our extended family . It was sad to say the least .And it was expensive because we could not get a refund for his air fair .I thought the staff at this facility were afraid of larger dogs ,and knew very little about dog psychology .I would never attempt to leave my pet with these people. They simply were not equipped to deal with any dog that doesn't roll on his back and offer his belly . more

A truly 5 Star Pet Hotel in Philly!! 5/29/2011

Short Review: ?Two thumbs up for a 5 star pet hotel, if you can leave your baby here, you should not even consider any other facility?. We left our spoiled miniature schnoodle, Dali, with them for 8 nights in May 2011. First, this is a hotel, and would not even imagine calling it a kennel. After all the other places I've seen in the area, Philly Pet Hotel is in a class its own. The decor is very tasteful, colorful, neat and sparkling clean. The ?rooms? for the pets are cute and clean. They do not have ?stacked? areas. Each dog has its own room. The dogs can see the dog across from them but not beside them. We took Dali?s own crate, which they happily accommodated, and it fell to the back of the smallest suite. Their ?luxury suites? are a little bigger and more private. I opted to go with the regular suites as the luxury suites would be too big for Dali. Second, when I called Jared, he took the time to answer ALL of my questions. He is just a very pleasant and an amazing person. Highlights of their services for me: - they have staff on site 24 hours a day, the dogs are never left alone - you can mix and match services, you don?t have to have the same service every day - they do not charge you extra for the basics (i.e relief walks, feeding his own food) - they have a vet available to them, in case of any adverse situations - if Dali is not doing well with the activities, room etc that we chose for him, Jared will call us and let us know of the required changes (A+) - we can pick-up after hours (an additional fee albeit), instead of leaving him there for an extra day during a holiday - they require bordatella vaccines every 6 months, Dali?s was up a week prior to our departure, but they offer to provide the vaccine instead of having you run to the vet etc. Prior to check in, I was gladly given a full tour of the facility without an appointment. I was surprised to see that with all the dogs that they had, there were no dog waste or anything outside in their play ground or where the dogs are taken out. This was unlike ANY other place I?ve been to. Third, when dropping Dali off, we had an early flight and they were extremely quick with check in, making sure we said goodbye to him. Jared gave us his card and said that we could email or call him if we had any questions, and just to check on how he?s doing. I didnt have to worry about Dali knowing that he was in great hands. Still, I wrote to Jared to check, and he gave me a report back on Dali?s activities and how he was doing in general. An added comfort for us while on vacation. Fourth, when picking up Dali, after hours on our way home from the airport, they were equally accommodating. His toys and belongings were neatly packed up and waiting for us. Dali had been washed, brushed and groomed and even had a Philly Pet Hotel blue bandanna on, he looked unbelievably cute! Dali was happy to see us, but he was not ?clingy? or shook up. After saying hello he went back to Meghan and lied in front of her as if to say goodbye. This was my ultimate sign that they were sincerely good with him. Dali was calm, playful and in a very pleasant mood. Lastly, the pricing is extremely reasonable compared to other places. I cannot even compare the service, skills and the attitude at the Philly Pet Hotel with any of the others I?ve been to before. The Philly Pet hotel is the only place I will ever leave Dali moving forward. Jared and his staff are the only folks I would trust to pamper Dali at least as much as I do! They are clearly doing what they love to do, have the dog?s best interest in mind and are aware of how the smallest things make a big difference. I love the staff?s attitude with us and Dali as well as the fact that they are all knowledgeable about dog-care. I cannot express how happy I am that we have such a great place near us now too! more

Wonderful place! 1/17/2011

Never having left Max, my 11 month old Weimaraner alone, I chose Philadelphia Pet Hotel based on the positive reviews. My family went away for the week of 1/8 until 1/16 and wanted a place we could totally trust. We first had Max stay overnight the week prior to going away as a ""trial."" He loved his one night stay SO much that there wasn't any hesitation on my part having them care for him for a week. Jarred earned my trust immediately when I asked him all about his facility. It was also easy to tell that his staff loved their work, too. more

It was also easy to tell that his staff loved their work, too. On the day I dropped Max off for his week of "vacation," he literally pulled off my arm to get in the front door! If his first experience there was bad, he certainly wouldn't have done that! While my family and I were having fun in the sun on the Mexican Riviera, we didn't once worry about Max. We got an email from the staff with some photos of Max playing in the snow! When it was time to pick him up upon our return on the 16th, Max seemed a little sad to leave. He left behind a bunch of new buds and a caring staff. When next year's vacation rolls around, there will be no hesitation where Max will spend the time. I highly recommend this facility. And, if you're flying out of PHL, there's a partnership between the Pet Hotel and Winner Valet Parking. Parking is about 1/2 price if you keep your dog at Phil. Pet Hotel! more

This Place is Awesome!!! 12/30/2010

I was very impressed with this facility. My dog stayed here for a week while we were on vacation. When we first left him, I was nervous because I wasnt sure how well he would adjust. I called there each day to check on him and I was told he was doing well. He had play time each day and loved it! This Place is immaculate, The staff is very caring and friendly and Jarred is a Doll! Dr Larry who owns The Philadelphia Animal Hospital also owns this facility and makes several visits daily, which really put my mind at ease. This is a GREAT place for your baby to stay! We Love It!!!!! more

don't let Stephanie groom your dog 12/22/2010

The worst haircut my dog ever had.....he looks like a cancer patient. She menioned on the phone that he moved when she did his face, but his legs are cut very short and his body long. His hair has no shine. His face is a mess. I have had my dog for three years and he has been going to groomers, no one ever messed him up like this, so its not the dog. Very very disappointed. I would never refer anyone here more

Home away from hom 12/9/2010

This was my first experience boarding my dogs -- I have three JRT's -- and I was quite anxious about leaving them w/ strangers. I think that they sensed my fear b/c they were all really keyed up when I dropped them off, but we arranged to have them stay in the same villa and that at least made me feel better. The updates I received while on my week-long trip help to ease my concerns and when I picked them up, it was like they had spent the week w/ a loving, grandmother who had spent the whole time spoiling them. more

Finally a great ""pet hotel"" in Philly!! 12/5/2010

Finally a great ""pet hotel"" in Center City!! My wife and I have been trying to find a place where we knew our dogs would be safe and cared for as if they were at home. We tried a few places, but no place seemed to meet our standards. The end result: Our dogs either joined us on trips or stayed with relatives. And if if not with us, we always had a ""concern"" in the back of our mind when we were away. Not the case any more with the totally re-done Philly Pet Hotel. We have finally found a place where our dogs will be cared for as well as when they are at home. We did check this place out a few years ago and it is TOTALLY different from what we saw then. The staff is very caring and very attentive. They sent us a few emails and pics of our pups while we were away and, as jaded as I am, I do think the staff was a little sad to see their little guests leave. More importantly, I think our dogs were a little sad to leave as well. We had our two dogs share one of the big ""villa"" rooms with the large bed, pillows, and a window and they seemed very comfortable for the entire stay. (just over two weeks) The 24 hour ""on-site"" staff, as well as the vet check in during the day (the hotel is owned by a vet) really helped put us at ease. Very safe, clean, and secure. We will be using this ""pet hotel"" again! more
