Great Staff and Grooming Experience 3/12/2010

Great experience. When I picked up my pooch, she came running out to greet my kids with a smile and wagging tail. She was groomed by a student and looked just as good as the $50 place I normally take her. I even left a tip. This will be our new place for haircuts. Pros: Friendly Staff Cons: The location more

Grooming was less then perfect and dog now has fleas. 10/5/2009

We brought our one dog to be groomed by Petite Pooch after boarding both of our dogs at their Carrollton location. The boarding went well with no issues, but we can't say that about the grooming. First, when we dropped the dog off, we asked for it not to be left out to play with other dogs or roam around the property. When we picked the dog up, he was doing just that. Running around, freely. Then after getting him home, it appeared to be a decent grooming, on the surface, till we started to notice that the grooming was uneven. We found areas like the legs, where they were trimmed, but long strands of hair were left untouched. Then, after about a day, we then noticed the dog had fleas. Sure this happens with dogs, but in the 4-5 years we've had dogs at our home, we've never had an issue. We can only imagine that either the Petite Pooch location has fleas or the other clients' dogs. Which is why we requested the dog not to be allowed to roam with other dogs. When we attempted to call and let them know about the issue, all we got was an unsympathetic ""Sorry."" It's unfortunate that these few issues were treated so coldly and thus we won't return. Sorry. more

My poodle loves Petite Pooch Chateau!! 8/18/2009

I have left my minature poodle for a week of boarding and I don't think he missed me at all. They also do his grooming and for a school they do an excellent job with a poodle cut. When I turn off the access road several blocks away he knows where we are going, he gets so excited and can not wait to go inside. I would not dream of taking him anywhere else. The facility is clean and the staff is friendly and competent. Pros: Friendly staff that take excellent care of dogs in their car more

Letter to Petite Pooch Plus Staff 7/19/2009

This is a copy of a letter we emailed to Petite Pooch Plus in Carrollton. Wanted to share it with the CitySearch Network. ""We want to thank you very, very much for your wonderful care of Shelby and Rusty while we were gone. They have been boarded before, but you are the BEST!!! Not only didn't we worry one minute (although we missed them), we see that they were well-cared for and loved while we were gone. We have already recommended you to others for grooming AND boarding...I hope it brings business.\r > > Again, thanks for loving and caring for our babies as we would have. It made leaving them much easier. And thanks, too, for understanding our feelings about the whole process of having to leave them and all.\r > > Also-thanks for the discount. It helped us in ways you don't even know> Sincerely and with much love,\r > > Paula and Jim Daniel\r > > and Shelby and Rusty\r > > \r Pros: Loving and caring staff more

Petite Pooch Plus 1/7/2009

The previous review which spoke to ""fleas"" and an ""injured tail"" incident floored me as I just read the user reviews this evening 01/07/2009. I (we) have no knowledge of these events and I welcome the owner of this pooch to call me at (972) 242-3100. We have a long history of good service and would like to speak to you about your issues. Thank you. Pros: Clean, bed & breakfast environment, caring staff. Cons: Not on a main road, but easily found. more

Stay Away! 11/18/2008

Petite Pooch has gone down hill! When I first found them I was very pleased. They seemed friendly and my pup enjoyed going to hang out with friends. Things have definitely changed! My pup's last two experiences have been just awful. I took my little (70 lb) angel in a couple of months ago while her father and I went out of town. We didn't think anything of it as this is the only boarder that we have ever used. A few days after we picked her up, we noticed that she seemed to be scratching at herself A LOT. We checked it out and she was COVERED in fleas. It was so bad that we had to pay an exterminator to come to our home, have the grass treated, and my poor pup had to have 4 treatments to get rid of them all. Although I was upset, I gave Petite Pooch the benefit of the doubt and took her back this past weekend for an overnight stay. It didn't start off very well. When my husband went to leave she tried to run out behind him as if to say ""Please don't leave me here Dad."" He thought that maybe she was just a little nervous, so he reassured her and left. When I picked her up the next day she could not have been happier to see me (which of course made me feel good). We went home and my husband noticed that she was keeping her tail tucked. He tried to lift it and she yelped and snapped at him. I understand that things can happen, but if she got into a fight with another dog or someone accidentally shut the kennel door on her tail I think I should be informed of this when I pick her up. Within a few hours she began getting sick to her stomach which lasted for about 18 hours. As if it isn't bad enough that her tail may be broken, now she can't keep anything in her tummy. And then to top it all off...SHE HAS FLEAS AGAIN! My advice is to run as far away as fast as you can from this place before your baby becomes a victim too. I know my angel will never go back. more

Terrific Caring and Clean Environment for Your Best Friend! 5/12/2008

If anyone had told me twenty years ago, when my kids were just sprouts, that I'd be taking a dog to doggie day care, I'd have laughed my tail off! I mean, really! With a house full of kids to play with the dogs, they were just plain worn out; there was always someone around to take care of them! But, times change and sometimes for the better! It is great to find a place where you can leave your furry kid to play and have fun, where the people really care about them! The folks at Petite Pooch remember my dog's name; he never hesitates to go in with them. We ran into one of the managers of Petite Pooch at PetSmart one day and the dog was thrilled to see her. The facility is very clean and there is pleanty of room for the dogs to romp about. I boarded my dog there over the holidays and he was very well cared for and happy. I've gladly recommended Petite Pooch to my friends and hope that you will support this terrific business! Pros: Clean, Friendly & Caring Staff Cons: Located in an industrial area, but still worth going to more

Petite Pooch Chateau is the best! 6/5/2006

I have been utilizing the services of Petite Pooch for eight years. They treat my ""child"" like a member of their family. I love the open area where the pups can socialize and play together. ""Pumkin"" loves to go there and gets so excited when we pull up in front. I've taken her there many times just for a ""play day"" with her furry friends. The staff is so attentive, caring and you can tell they love their job. I highly recommend Petite Pooch to anyone searching for the kind of care that their pet is given at home. Pros: Caring Staff, Excellent care, Great grooming more
