Horrible service and attitudes!! There service Dept. makes up services to see how much you will pay prior to them even looking at the car.
My Sienna van was blowing white smoke from the exhaust, had a flashing check engine light and would shake at higher RPM. I had my car towed there because I didn't want to drive it given the flashing check engine light. The light came on late Fri. night.
We had our van towed there Sat. AM. I did check the oil 30 minutes prior to the tow after the car sat unused for 12 hours because I know just enough about car that I know white smoke mostly is from a gasket problem and it would burn oil. The oil level was right in the middle of low and high. We did just get a oil change 8 days prior and my mechanic said he remembers the level slightly higher but not near the top.
When the Peruzzi service team leader called us he said, he wanted $150 up front to even look at the car. He said, it costs them money to service cars so I would have to pay a minimum $150 or he won't even look at the van. I refused to pay since hooking up a code test takes very little time and I won't just blindly pay for service that they don't even know what to do yet. He then responded that , my van is totally out of oil. (Wait, I thought he didn't check it yet...)
We also asked for a courtesy check on our sunroof since it won't fully open or close when the buttons are hit. When closing, the window slides to the stopping point and then reopens about 1 inch. It will eventually close if you hit Open/Close enough and time it right. He also stated he had to disassemble the sunroof to see if it was my issue or a warranty issue. I asked, when would be my responsibility in the sunroof and he said, the fuses. I said, the roof opens and closes when you hit the button so then the fuse so it can't be the fuse right? He stated he wasn't sure. Until he disassembled the entire unit to see if it was my issue. Last I check the fuse is in the fuse box.
We had the car picked up by my regular mechanic and guess what, ""It had oil!!"" It was right at the mid point.
That night the GM called and tried to apologize. Seems his worker told him that I was only asked to pay a $39 charge, they already checked out the car, scanned the codes and the oil was low but not out of oil. Hmmmmm..... Someone is telling a few different stories here.
Sounds like Peruzzi has big issues in their service dept. and is just looking to nickel and dime customers...
Thanks Peruzzi, you made my choice for service next time for me. IT WON'T BE YOU!!!
