40 Years of High Quality Affordable Care 8/28/2010

People's Community Clinic is a private non-profit primary care clinic that has worked since 1970 to provide high quality affordable care to people without health insurance. People's is a medical home to over 10,000 patients and, unfortunately, we're simply not able to accept all patients who need care. I am the Clinic's CEO and welcome comments and feedback on our performance. I regret that a caller was left on hold and did not receive needed services. We continually strive to improve customer service. People's is a medical home to over 10,000 patients, so some of our practice areas are full while others may remain open. For example, the Clinic is always open to new adolescent patients (we're a teaching site for the Pediatric/Adolescent residency program) and to patients referred from the St. David's Medical Center ER. We're also open to new prenatal patients. Our adult medicine and pediatric panels, however, are often full with established patients and newborns. We wish we had sufficient capacity to accept all patients who need care and we're working hard to be able to see more patients and provide more services in the future. I encourage citysearch members to check out our website for more informaton. more

waste of time--zero stars 6/5/2008

Literally. I waited on hold a half hour before an unhelpful receptionist answered--and put me on hold again. Finally she asked why I was calling. I told her I needed meds renewed. She said, ""Are you sick?"" Kind of a stupid question, right? Why does one take meds? So I told her it is a regular prescription but since I'm not longer insured, I can't afford to see my doctor for renewals. The she told me they aren't taking new patients. I suggested they ought to put that on their greeting message so people aren't waiting a half hour to hear that. She could not possibly have cared less, judging by her tone. Who knows what they do over there, but providing caring help to the uninsured seems a low priority. Cons: not taking new patients, rude staff, long telelphone waits for no help more
