Peet's Coffee

I agree with other reviewers - Peet's beats Starbucks any day. If you like smoky, flavorful coffee, then Peet's is for you. I usually stick to coffee - either iced or hot - and it's soooo satisfying. Seems like it has more caffeine than other coffee because after two cups, I'm shaking. ;-) Friendly folks and atmosphere, if you can find a seat. This place has free wireless so people tend to bring their laptops and park it. Great place to hang on a chilly winter day. Fun to watch all the different types of people who come in - and there are many. One great feature - if you donate to WGBH (either radio or TV), you get a coupon for a free half-pound of Peet's coffee beans. And along with a bean purchase, you get a free cup of coffee! more

Since I've moved to Boston, I've become a fan of Peet's. As a coffee/tea fanatic, I have to say that this place beats Starbucks any day. The prices are reasonable and the service is exceptional. Some of my fav drinks are: Coffee (Iced): -Mocha Freddo -Caffe Freddo -Caramel Iced Latte (much like Starbucks' Iced Caramel Macchiato, but with a better quality espresso and it's not as sweet.) Tea (Iced): -Black Currant -Jasmine Pearl -Mango Ceylon Unfortunately, this cafe is fairly selective and is located mainly along the coasts with the exception of Austin, Denver & Chicago. The one at Harvard Sq has a mini park-like area in front of the cafe where you can take your drink out and listen to live music. If you're lucky enough to have a Peet's around the corner, you ought to stop by! more
