Peekaboo Playland just got better! 7/9/2009

Okay, went to the new Peekaboo Playland today and absolutely LOVED IT!! There is sooooo much more room for my kids to run around now. I love how the dress up area is separated from the kitchen, from the game room, etc. The new birdhouse/slide is a lot of fun and wears my kids out too. (I don't know what these other folks are complaining about. If you have little wee ones you have to watch them closely just as you would at the jungle gym at the park. This will always be a problem when there are other kids around so just watch your kids) My boy thrilled to have more room ride the trike around and also play hide and go seek. We spent a much longer time here than we ever have because it seemed like there was more to do because of the extra space. Bravo to Nancy and Marcel for taking the giant step and moving to such a great location. I seriously hated the parking at the old place and having to play win the lotto with parking spaces. I'd rather pay an old meter for 2 hours than have to push a stroller with 2 kids up that Eagle Rock hill. I am having our next birthday party here again because now it's brand new once again. Yay for change! PS. Pay no mind to the hater of Peekaboo. She is an angry woman who going on all the websites badmouthing Peekaboo for the ticket she got from her expired meter. Not very nice of her. The folks at Peekaboo are great. Go visit and see for yourself. Pros: Great for little and big kids, lots of room to run around more

Fantastic New Space!!! 6/26/2009

Peekaboo just opened in their new space this week, and we stopped by during their ""soft-opening"" to check it out. It's fantastic -- the space (which sat vacant for so long) is beautiful -- high ceilings, great balconys, plenty of natural light. The staff have created a great ""treehouse"" type play structure in the middle with fun climbing steps, a cozy hiddy hole and two slides. It wasn't quite painted when we went, but it looks like a big bird of some sort...\r \r They've used the space creatively. There are now little rooms for playing, like the ""bistro"" area where all the play kitchen equipment is, a comfy reading room where all the smaller toys are stored, and a play dress-up area tucked away in the back. The bouncy house is still there, as is the ball pit and the train table, but there's a new playhouse as well.\r \r The music was great as always, great mixes of contemporary stuff both my son and I can enjoy. \r \r Looks like they might use the upstairs balconies for classes, or chatting areas for parents. Overall, i think it's a great step up in the world of indoor playgrounds. \r \r With two great coffee houses and several restaurants just steps away, we'll be ""doing lunch"" at Peekaboo often. I was never a member before, prefering to pay as I go, but I think we'll become Peekaboo's newest clients! \r \r Quite disappointed to see that their first review was a negative one -- sounds like someone was just mad at her own neglect to read the street signs. Her comments regarding safety, I felt, were unfounded. I check things over pretty throughly whereever we go, and I saw no hazards at all. Regarding her comments about it being for kids under three, I disagree. The new structure is geared toward older kids with the new tunnel slide. And I noticed some new games such as Twister just waiting to be played...\r \r I'm giving it high marks! Great job, you guys!\r \r Pros: Bright, airy, plenty of room to play... Cons: None as far as I can see.... more

New location is awful 6/24/2009

Beware, Peekaboo Playland has moved into a new space (2030 Colorado as of 6/16/2009) that is half-finished, unsafe and thouroughly unenjoyable for kids over 3. What used to be a great indoor playground has now turned into a badly designed and overpriced rip-off. The parking situation is actually worse than it was and you will recieve a $60.00 parking ticket on Wednesday mornings between 11am and 1pm. The parking regulation is poorly displayed and when I suggested the owner post a warning at the register, I was met with an unhelpful attitude. She also informed me that she had been ""fielding complaints"" all morning about the new facility. Save your money and the safety of your children. Go somewhere else. The original location was great but now it's just an unsafe and unfun ripoff. more
