It is the most terrible moving-out experience and most horrible manager we ever deal with! We lived in the apartment for only a couple of months. We cleaned the apartment thoroughly after moving out and even the manger was very impressed during the walk through. Well, a couple of weeks later, we received a HUGE bill for cleaning and repairing fees!! They charged us for damages that we didn't do, and explained that otherwise, the company has to pay for it and it is not fair to the company!!! For example, they charged for 3 hours painting work and there were only some small scratches and cannot even be seen. Their story was that it took longer because the worker chose a color that didn't match the original one so he ended up painting the entire wall. And they charge us for it because it is "FAIR" for the company!! Terrible moving-out experience!! It may look nice, but be warned they'll over charge you when you move out. Management impose some ridiculous rules! management here (at peartree apartments) will tell you (by slipping a notice under your door) that you can not use your own curtain and must close blinds; you can not leave your umbrella open on your balcony. they will determine for you whether items on your balcony are excessive and will order you to remove them; your doormat has to be 'authorized' and you certainly can not personalize it.
