Peak Performers

I was hired back in 2005. I was retired at that point and looking for some temporary work that was flexible. I had gotten to know Peak throughout my career and applied soon after retiring. They were able to find a job for me fairly quickly doing higher-level administration jobs. I?ve been on several assignments, and currently I help with grant coordination efforts. I really enjoy going on assignments. The work is often interesting and challenging. At Peak they really take the time to find the right job for the right person. They really care about finding you a job and finding you a job that matches your skill level and interests. I can?t recommend Peak enough for job seekers. more

I found Peak Performers through Workforce Solutions. I came in and tested in Excel and Word Perfect in order to evaluate my skills. The tests didn?t take too long and the interview was pretty straightforward. They also looked at my work history. It took two months, but then they found me a good job working as a contract technician for the State of Texas. After that, I went on to work as a budget analyst. Overall, I?m pleased and very satisfied with Peak. They really try to help you and though it can sometimes take a while, they really help you find a job that matches your skills. I realize that this is a competitive time to find work and I feel like they definitely helped give me a leg up. more

I found Peak through the phone book about five years ago when I was looking for employment. I went in with some clerical experience, which definitely helped, and they were able to find me a job in a Texas agency pretty soon. After my department was downsized, I went back to them, and they were able to find me a job in the in a different Texas agency within a couple weeks. I?ve always found them to be courteous. Working with them has been a very pleasant experience. Anyone looking for work short term or long term should give Peak a call. more

I applied at Peak and got a job within a week. They were able to place me in a clerical/filing position. Pay was good and staff was helpful. I especially appreciate their being able to help me as I have a hearing disability and am entry-level. I feel like they really helped me on the career path I'm on now. Staff was pretty cool. They're busy folks but take time to talk to me. The tests they put you through are challenging but its nice to be able to take them again if you practice. I hadn't had much experience with Access before but after playing around with it on my computer at home was able to come back and score decently on the test. Thanks Peak. You all rock! more

I worked several assignments for them, all of which were with state agencies. The pay is lower than what you would get with a comparable position at other employment agencies. Pros: State Jobs Cons: Office staff not helpful more

I've been working off and on now for Peak for about 2 years as an Auditor. They have sent me on several long assignments with state agencies and most of them have been very successful. The pay is good and the length between assignments has been thankfully short. Although I am looking for permanent work and have been encouraged by some of Peak's customers to apply with the state, I would rather land something in the private sector. They have direct deposit and everything functions smoothly with them once you get on a job, but you may have to be patient for that first assignment. (I waited 3 weeks for my first one) Everyone there is super friendly and helpful. They have certainly helped me weather this economic downturn. For whatever reason, Peak Performers has very few administrative assignments available-- probably due to the current excess of people seeking work combined with a lack of agencies needing temporary staffing. I responded to an advertisement placed by a recruiter on TWC's jobsearch website, and was told to call to make an appointment for an interview. The soonest appointment they had available was an entire month away. I took it, was interviewed a month later, and then began calling everyday per Peak Performer's requirement. I stuck with them for over three months and received no assignments. I was sent on an interview once (which I unfortunately bombed, since I hadn't had an interview in over 8 years and didn't know what to expect). Then, several weeks later, I received an assignment which was cancelled before I had even had an orientation. I am mostly annoyed by the assignment that was cancelled, since I was notified of the cancellation via email on the morning I was set to receive my orientation.... an email I did not read because I was already on my way to PP's office! When I arrived at the office, I was informed that the assignment had been cancelled... and the personnel specialist (I will not mention names) made it very clear that I was at fault for not checking my email that morning. I have a CELL PHONE NUMBER.... PP personnel had contacted me using that number before, so I don't understand why I could not have been notified of my assignment's cancellation via that number. So, a few weeks later I decided to sever my ties with PP and took a horribly low-paying part time job instead. It was way more worth being overqualified and underpaid working at a terrible retail store than it was waiting on PP and its disorganized staff. And I have recently accepted a wonderful job offer from the State Office of Administrative Hearings, which just goes to show you that you don't need Peak Performers to help you land a great job with a state agency! Although I haven't yet gone to work for this agency, I still must recommend it highly. When I first applied well over a year ago, and then began calling each day, my 'contact' was ALWAYS back on the phone that very same day returning my call. So many agencies don't do that. Not only that but she went out of her way to try to find me jobs that were on my side of town, which at the time, unfortunately, was far north and thus, there were very few assignments available in the salary range that I was requesting. Pros: Excellent customer service and very caring staff Cons: The only con I can see is that it would be nice if they had more jobs in the north more

I think the complainer doesn't understand the nature of being a temp. Like everything, there are pros & cons. Whiners just concentrate on the cons and are almost always losers who blame all of their problems on others. more
