'Disappointed 2' is dead on. 1/13/2011

I agree. I am slso a student at Paul Mitchell the School Jax. It is very unprofessional. I have asked on many occasions for receipts for my tuition payments and it seems that half of the staff are always on 'vacation'. Whenever I need something or call the school, my calls are never returned and I am never helped. The teachers contradict themselves constantly and maybe 2 of them actually know how to accurately teach. The class I started with originally had 14 students. There are now currently 3. That should tell you something about the environment and overall success rate of the school. The school is not structured, encouraging, or positive. Girls are constantly fighting and complaining. Teachers show very little dedication. You are nickel and dimed the whole time. You do not get what you pay for. more

So upset with scheduling 12/20/2010

I have mixed feelings here. The first time I went in the service was mediocre. I realize that this is a school and the girl did a good job although it did take 5 hours. However I was happy enough to make another appointment for 6 weeks later. 6 weeks go by, I go into the salon with my card with my apt written down and was told they did not have my apt in the system. Ok so I was fit in the schedule with a wonderful stylist named Carolina. She did a wonderful job! She fixed the damaged done to my hair by a previous stylist and made me confident in her abilities. SO much so that I made an appointment 3 months in advance for her to do the highlighting of my hair for my wedding. So dec 20th rolls around and I call to confirm my appointment ( learning from the last time). Not only was I told that I did not have an apt I was also told the stylist was booked all week. I am leaving for my wedding on Thursday at 5 in the morning . They showed no remorse at not having the schedule correct. I am upset and hurt and now freaking out about my hair bc I trusted this stylist. I cannot recommend this unorganized salon to anyone. more

Students Beware! 9/21/2010

I am currently a student at Paul Mitchell the School Jax and I would never send another student to this school, you are only paying for the name, and nothing more. I feel that anytime your school is being audited by the Government and the financial Aid officer and director decide they want to go on a cruise, you as a student should be worried. At this school the right hand never knows what the left hand is doing, There are some good things at the school but the bad defintely out weighs the good! You never get a clear answer from anyone, and there seems to be diffrent rules for everyone. I feel that if I comply with all the rules and regulations that are set forth, the school should do the same. I have talked with others who have went to diffent school and they had amazing experience, but at Paul Mitchell School Jacksonville, I can not say that my experience was amazing. more

PMTS Rocks 9/21/2010

Sounds to me like somebody didn't pass their state board exam and now they are unhappy :( . (If the state board grades on spelling, I can understand George's failure) A potential class action law suit of seven unhappy ""beauty school drop outs"" does not constitute a class action law suit. There is a lot of work for the attorneys to put together a class action law suit. There has to be proof and lots of it, and more than seven people interested in pursuing a law suit.\r George, get your notes and study a bit harder than the last time and re-take your state board. PMTS is one of the most professional schools in North Florida. I know, been there, done that. So it all depends on what you want and what you are looking for in a school. Can you make as much money as a doctor or lawyer? If you look at the net amount of earnings, the answer could very easily be, ""yes"". Some schools in this area are run like a ghetto daycare. When he babies don't get their way, they cry and whine,\r Sorry, George, you stand alone with your negative, incorrect information about PMTS. more

PMTS Jacksonville 9/21/2010

I am shocked by the review from ""George"". First of all it is shameful to say such hateful, untrue statements. I firmly believe that most educated people reading his review will not be inclined to judge PMTS Jacksonville negatively.\r I have been involved with the Paul Mitchell family for 19 years and I can honestly say that Paul Mitchell is the best Company in the world. John Paul is a humble, generous, beautiful soul who gives to humanity each and every day of his life. The professional hair color, products and education is superior to any other brand on the market. A company that puts ""hairdresser's first"" a company that is ""the leader in education"" and company that is lead and supported by the most amazing people on the planet. Nineteen years later...I am still PROUD to be a part of the journey that is Paul Mitchell beautiful!\r George...I wish you peace and love because you have seem to be angry and mis-informed.\r Paul Mitchell The School Jacksonville is a great place for anyone wanting to become a hairdresser! xxoo more

PMTS Schools ROCK! 9/21/2010

I am a Graduate of Paul Mitchell the School, Orlando. I was so impressed and moved by the people of this company and the ""One Size Fits All"" and ""Be Nice (or Else)!"" attitude that I had to be a part of it. I have been an employee of Paul Mitchell the School, Jacksonville since 2008 and I have never loved a job, a company, or my ""family"" more. Each and every Future Professional is special and leaves a little piece of themselves in my heart when they graduate. If every corporation in the U.S. were run like this one, there would be a lot more happy employees. more

Paul Mitchell schools 9/21/2010

In response to the person that cant even put who they really are: I attended TWO Paul Mitchell schools and which in both had an AMAZING experience!!! You become a family with the instructors the students and create a lifelong bond with the people there! I am extremely happy with the decision that i made to go there and I can proudly say that I am a Paul Mitchell the School graduate:) You can not make such an ignorant comment about something that YOU dont even know about, and IF you did attend the school then that is your own ignorance that you choose to say such bad things about it...maybe it wasnt the school that the problem was with, just sayin. SO TO ALL THOSE THAT SEE THIS NEGATIVE COMMENT, JUST IGNORE IT CUZ IT IS NOT TRUE!!!!!!!! You would be making a VERY wise decision by going to a Paul Mitchell school!!!! more

Paul Mitchell School IMO 9/21/2010

As for the Gentleman ( moron ) posting above. Please use spell check before you try to ""act"" like you are somebody. I have managed and owned many salons and spa's so let me give you my opinion from a professional standpoint about their CORPORATION. That is how it is spelled correctly...\r I have interviewed many Stylists from many Schools. I have to stand up and give the Paul Mitchell school some credit here. I have seen some of the more experienced and better trained Cosmetologists come from this school than any other school in this region. All of the Stylists that I have interviewed have had nothing but good words about their school and their work is a fine example of their truth. I am not sure where you are getting your information Sir but may I recommend a little more research and just a tad bit better use of your spell check. With all respect, Lori more
