Nice patio, so-so food 3/9/2010

The inside-outside patio was a lovely place to sit and the buffett had nice choices, but the food was pretty ordinary. We expected better from a cultural center. The service was good, there is plenty of parking, and the prices were not steep. more

It's OK.... 10/17/2009

I went here for a quince reception last month. It was ok. The food was ordinary nothing special. The place have a huge parking lot, that is one the things I look through before anything because it is an important issue when you're talking about big celebration. more

great place for spanish food 7/13/2009

The restaurant is located in the Spanish Cultural Center and is a too-well-kept secret out on Alemany. The tapas and entrees are all well-made and the prices are a fraction of the prices charged at other places. The wine list is limited but has Spanish wines as well. Service is good and the staff very friendly. We have gone here for years and have never had a bad experience. Great value for money even though it is a trek out to the outer edges of the City. Pros: wonderful tapas, good prices Cons: main dining room is cavernous more

its just okay 10/28/2008

This restaurant is just okay. I attended a wedding here and the food was bland but I am sure the couple paid a pretty penny for it. The place needs to be updated. It was dark and just gloomy. more

Excellent food and Oh, the Sangria too! 8/22/2007

Over the years, this place is a definite winner time and time again...home of my favorite dining out dishes...favorite date place, favorite special occasion place, even favorite Sunday brunch place. Sometimes I go in a group and we just order all the tapas on the menu....order double Gambas and the wild mushrooms are to die for. Everything is good, but my all time favorite is the wonderful seafood stew with saffron rice...Zarzuela de Mariscos...along with the great Sangria. Pros: Ambience, Parking, Sangria Cons: Sometimes service can be a little slow... more

It was okay 10/6/2006

Patio Espanol is located in the outer mission district on Alemany blvd. They area isn't the best choice to have a reception for a wedding but I would definately do a reception for a birthday party or other type of banquet. The food is ordinary nothing special. IU bleieve we had 3 choices. Chicken fish or beef. It averaged about 20 dollars per person. ANd the banquet room is not very big. You can do much better elsewhere. The decor can use some help too. more

Excellente Espanol Food 1/2/2005

Patio Espanol serves great Spanish food. The service was a bit slow (especially considering we were the only table in there at the time) but the staff was very friendly and the food more than makes up for any shortcomings. Hearing the BART train roll by every few minutes was annoying but that's not the restaurant's fault. Pros: Great Food, Good Parking more

I'm from Spain and this place is as close as you are going to come in SF to authentic Spanish cuisine. more
