Parkland College has been extremely unhelpful and the faculty and staff seems to need an education more than the students, and seem miserable. They send out mass e-mails when you ask specific questions and you need to do everything for yourself, even when setting up meetings with a person they are busy and can not accommodate your questions or they refer you all around until you ultimately give up. I would not recommend Parkland to anyone. more

Very Good College 12/15/2008

This is definitely 'the' college to go to. I have attended since 2006 and have been impressed by the knowledgeable and helpful teachers(we call them instructors), the down to earth feeling of the college, and the incredibly wide variety of courses they offer there. In the Summer, the lush green outdoor college space comes to life and classes continue to be offered, which is great for those trying to get ahead in the career race.\r \r I recently had people in my class as young as 18 and as old as 40 learning 2D Animation. The Digital media is highly decorated and high-class, and the entire college is a great place for diverse people improving their lives and knowledge.\r \r Parkland has its own arts gallery, TV channel, and even their own student-written paper, the Parkland "Prospectus"!\r \r I definitely recommend Parkland College to anyone seeking improvement in their lives. The college is filled with opportunities, for anyone, any age, any race. more

Wonderful College 11/20/2005

Parkland College is a wonderful college for everyone--whether people are still in high school, have graduated and plan to transfer to a 4-year university, or have been out of school for years and want to learn additional skills. The campus is very easy to get around. There are a wide range of subjects and classes to take. The only reason this college isn't a "World Class" rating is because some of the staff can be less than friendly, and sometimes not as helpful as they perhaps should. Great Place To Start Out 11/19/2005

Parkland is perfect for those who want quick training in a specific field, or those who aren't sure what they want to do. Parkland features a wonderful transfer program which prepares freshman and sophmores for four universities at half the price. The class selection at Parkland is great. They offer some great career programs in nursing, graphic arts, and lots of other things. They also offer core classes that are transerable to all Illinois four year colleges. more

Best value for undergrad education 10/24/2005

Parkland College is one of the premiere community colleges in the country. It's also a great education value for freshmen and sophomores, with tuition far below that of four-year unversities. The class sizes are small and many of the instructors are still working in their fields, so they bring a practical viewpoint to the classroom. more

Parkland College is geared for the person that wants to learn a practical skill without the added expense of going to a university. I am attending Parkland at this time and would recommend it to anyone. more

All flight instruction takes place at the University of Illinois-owned Willard Airport in Champaign, IL. This is a regular municipal airport with actual commercial flights. The institute has its own FAA-approved aircraft maintenance shop with mechanics and technicians who keep the training fleet in first-class condition. You can chose from an Associate of Science degree in aviation and transfer your credits to a four-year university or you can earn private pilot and commercial pilot certifications on the way to the degree.
